Carrying a Jurassic on me-Chapter 778 - 408 Airport Renovation Cowshed Plan_1
Chapter 778: Chapter 408 Airport Renovation Cowshed Plan_1
Blue sky and white clouds, sunny days extend for miles.
Although flying about in the sky had become customary for Yan Fei, this was his first flight without using his own "Seventy-two changes" power. Needless to say, Miss Xu Xiaoyan was also experiencing this for the first time and, despite her attempts to stay calm, her heart was far from serene.
Yan Fei took her hand, which was tightly gripping his clothes, either from excitement or the fear of the plane falling, and said with a smile: "Imagine if the plane were to crash with so many people crammed together. We’ll all blend into one big pile of flesh. It’ll be such a bloody mess that nobody could even distinguish one person from another, let alone bury them!"
His knack for killjoy statements was so strong that any excitement or tension Miss Xu Xiaoyan had instantly vanished. She glared at him and muttered, "Can’t you say something comforting? Somebody might toss you out of the plane for bringing bad luck with your words!"
"Whether the plane will crash or not has nothing to do with my words! What’s so ominous about that?" replied Yan Fei confidently. "Besides, there is nothing wrong with blending into one pile. It would be even better if it happened to a couple; they would be inseparable forever, which is quite moving. The only issue would be if two unknown men were to blend together... yikes..."
"I’d like to see you combine with another bloke!" As Yan Fei faked rubbing his leg, Miss Xu tightened her painful grip on his waist. "Quit your acting, I know it doesn’t hurt."
"It does hurt!" cried Yan Fei, wincing. "Your two-finger grip has reached perfection, and I really stand no chance against it! Besides, I was talking about others, not us. Seriously though, as long as I’m around, there’s no need to fear the plane crashing..."
"You’re still going on about it, hmph..." Miss Xu made as though to tighten her grip some more just as a flight attendant approached them. She quickly straightened herself and pretended to look straight ahead.
Yan Fei, oblivious to how others saw him, continued to put on his pained expression. The attendant who had been surveying the passengers rushed over to ask, "Sir, are you feeling unwell? Do you need anything?"
"Not at all!" seeing Miss Xu blush, Yanfei quickly reassured her. "We’re just joking!"
The flight attendant glanced at Miss Xu’s expression, guessed what they had been up to, and with a slight smile said, "Well, as long as you’re alright, sir. Have a pleasant journey!"
Once the flight attendant was gone, Miss Xu ignored Yan Fei thoroughly miffed after his tantrum. But at least, her excitement and tension had disappeared.
Yan Fei was all cheer: "Hey, what if I had requested several tens of catties of beef just now? If they didn’t have it, would they consider buying some beef from us in the future?"
Unable to hold back her laughter at his absurd idea, Miss Xu gave up trying to keep a straight face: "Keep dreaming! Do you think they can’t buy beef anywhere else but from our place? Besides, if they really brought several tens of catties of beef for you, could you even finish it?"
"I could, it’s just that I’m afraid I might frighten them after finishing it all!" Yan Fei said with a look of regret.
"Hmph!" Miss Xu couldn’t even be bothered to give him a sidelong glance, being all too accustomed to his nonsense talk by now.
Yan Fei was still all spirit, continuing to speak to himself if she didn’t respond.
Normally, they were busy patrolling and dealing with matters in the middle of the night. Last night, she made him talk until midnight and held his hand while sleeping. They had already prepared all the things they needed, so he got a good night’s rest.
He didn’t care about Lin Dajiang’s, the boss of Lin’s, comments. That was a chance meeting, and they would see what would happen in the future anyway — Lin was not a restaurateur.
In the morning, he instructed Heizi and others about the pending tasks at the farm before he and Miss Xu drove to Provincial City’s airport and boarded the plane. They didn’t join the freight truck to Hong Kong; these were their own air tickets.
There was not much to see on the plane. Flying himself provided a better view of the landscape. Miss Xu ignoring him made life utterly boring.
Given their resilience, getting airsickness was impossible. Still, watching a few first-time flyers like them, with their varied expressions, was quite entertaining, especially those who started vomiting.
Yan Fei’s remark about the plane crash wasn’t nonsense, as he had also overheard it recently. Just two months prior, a plane headed to Shen City had a landing mishap, or rather, a "landing error." Of the seventy or so passengers and crew members on board, almost half vanished forever.
The two of them were muttering away. Time flew by and it was soon time for the plane to land.
During landing, the plane’s small loudspeaker was incessantly seeking to alleviate everyone’s anxiety, but it was clear that several faces were still full of worry. No surprise there, an accident had occurred at this airport and not long ago too. It was only natural for some to be concerned.
Only Yan Fei seemed utterly nonchalant, engaging in a game of ’reading palms’ with his girl.
Given his limited skills, probably only his girl would tolerate such a load of gibberish from him. Anyone else could call him out and leave him red-faced.
Of course, the girl had no idea that Yan Fei was the most worried about the plane. After all, he was used to flying by himself, and suddenly being caged inside a metallic shell high up in the sky didn’t seem safer than his usual flights.
Therefore, he held the girl’s hand, ready to protect her if anything went wrong. Were there any unavoidable accidents, he wouldn’t hesitate to reveal the secret of the dinosaur world to save her.
Unfortunately, plane incidents are rare and always astronomical when they occur. If they happened often, who would dare to fly?
Naturally getting back on solid ground, Yan Fei could even see how many people were relaxing their bodies. He found it funny. If they were so afraid of the risk, they should take a train or a car instead - why insist on flying?
The girl was astonished at the moment. When they got on the plane, her mind was too restless to notice anything about the Provincial City Airport. Now that they were off the plane, she felt settled enough to marvel at how massive it was: "This airport is even larger than our town!"
Her voice was a tad too loud; two passengers who had just disembarked couldn’t help but chuckle. Nonetheless, they looked with a clear sense of understanding and amiability - not many have the experience of taking a flight; first-timers will inevitably have plenty of remarks.
Yan Fei intended to amuse his girl by correlating, "Imagine how many cows I could raise with this much space!"
The girl burst into laughter. She refrained from chastising Yan Fei for his comments due to the crowd and simply glared at him, urging him to be serious: "Behave and get moving. Can’t you be more formal in front of so many people..."
Yan Fei obediently obliged and moved along, muttering under his breath. When the girl leaned in to listen, she found that he was planning the layout if he were to transform the airport into a barn: "This area can be used for fodder production, the slaughterhouse has to be constructed outside, this area can build dormitories, a place has to be reserved for stacking and drying manure, and the rest can all be converted into barns..."
The girl finally lost it and burst into laughter again, pulling Yan Fei’s arm forcefully: "I swear, if you don’t stop, I really won’t pay you any mind..."
"Ok ok ok!" Finally, Yan Fei agreed to stop articulating his own ’planning’ and accompanied the girl as they left the airport.
As they exited the entrance, they found a lively scene before them. A quick glance revealed that it was fashionable to hold up signs to welcome people at the moment - several greeted their sight.
The girl murmured uncertainly: "Xiao Ya said she’d pick us up, how come I don’t see her?"
Just as she finished her sentence, a shout rang out from the crowd: "Sister Xiaoyan, we are over here!"
The voice drew several curious glances from the crowd. People in front of where the voice originated automatically moved to both sides, allowing the voice’s owner to make their way through.
Such a large group of people, quite daunting! No wonder the crowd parted naturally, rendering their two designated bodyguards who had been assigned to clear the way, rather redundant...
