CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 116: Go
Princess Valeria smiled as she roamed around in her room.
The happiness she was feeling was radiating through her. "Duke Salvador smiled at me." Princess Valeria murmured. "This had never happened before."
Princess Valeria sat on the chair near the window as a smile still played on her lips. "Did the secretary’s words come true? Did Duke Salvador see my actual capabilities?"
Princess Valerias’s eyes shined in excitement. She looked down at her hands as she smiled whole heartedly. "Power truly is a wonderful thing."
"Yes, you are right." A voice entered before the man did. "Power is truly a wonderful thing."
Princess Valeria’s eyes sharpened as she looked at the one who entered her room in full confidence. Princess Valeria smiled as she looked outside but could not find her guards there anymore.
"Don’t bother looking there. They are my subordinated sister." Prince Cedric smiled as he sat in front of the first Princess.
"So what brings you here? Do you want to mend our broken relationship now that I will be the Emperor?" Princess Valeria’s voice was filled with sarcasm as her eyes were overflowing with confidence.
Prince Cedric sneered but soon his lips curled up in a smirk. "You are thinking too much sister. Do you think I care about our relationship?" Prince Cedric moved forwards as he rested his chin on his hand. "I only care about the throne and the people."
"You are no different than me Cedric. We both care about the same thing."
"No, we don’t." Prince Cedric smiled. "We both care about the throne but I care for the people while you only love yourself and your Duke."
Princess Valeria’s eyes sharpened. She moved back as her sight turned sharp. "What do you take me for? You are just a jealous brother. Jealous that I unlocked my powers before you and claimed the throne while you who everyone supported. The heir that can control two elements perfectly cannot reach my level."
"You are crossing a line, Valeria." Prince Cedric crossed his hand as he leaned back. "You can never control all the four elements so perfectly."
Seeing the change in Princess Valeria’s expression, Prince Cedric knew that he was right. "I don’t know by what means you got the powers but trust me, Valeria, nature always finds a way to balance itself. If the things are not meant to be then they will not."
Prince Cedric got up from the chair as he was ready to walk out of the door. But Princess Valeria had different thoughts in mind.
"Who do you think you are?" Valeria rose from her chair as her eyes glowed dangerously. "Do you think only you worked hard to control the power? I will show you."
Princess Valeria moved her hand in anger and the door closed with a loud bang. Valeria smiled when she saw Prince Cedric turning back towards her as he formed a barrier from the wind.
"So you think I am not powerful enough to break this?" Princess Valeria laughed as she took a step forward. "I am not your sister, who can only control one element."
Princess Valeria moved her hand as a spear emerged from the floor breaking the barrier into pieces. "I can control four."
Princess Valeria was smiling as she saw her brother being pushed out by her powers. The man who was powerful in the eyes of others was on his knees in front of her.
Princess Valeria pushed her hands up as she controlled the water droplets around her. The water formed a long spring that moved around and held Prince Cedric’s neck. "I can even kill you now using the mere elements you are so proud of."
Princess Valeria’s eyes were shaking with rage. She wanted to express and yet she could not. Her eyes widened as a feeling of helplessness engulfed her and her hold on the water string loosened. Before Valeria could understand the sting broke down into droplets and dropped down on the floor.
Princess Valeria took a step back in horror. She did not do it then how could such a thing happen? Everything was going smoothly before it all went down.
Princess Valeria swallowed as she controlled her breathing. She turned around, not daring to face the third Prince. "Cedric, I do not want to fight with you now. I have some very important things to attend to."
Prince Cedric rubbed his neck as he looked up at the first Princess. He could hear the slight trembling in his sister’s tone. His eyes sharpened as he got up slowly from his seat. He simply looked at the back of his sister before he walked out.
’Valeria is not behaving like her usual self.’
’She should have pushed me to my limits, but she did not.’
’Even her powers felt unstable.’
Prince Cedric’s eyes sharpened as he increased his steps. They became more powerful and aggressive.
Once the Prince was out of the palace he looked at his personal guard who stood beside him.
"Make sure to keep an eye on her." Prince Cedric said in a whisper. "I want to know everything that is happening in my sister’s life."
The guard nodded his head as he disappeared from Prince Cedric’s side.
The third Prince looked up at the palace. ’You are trying to bury something, Valeria. And I will find out soon.’ 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
—------
Princess Valeria stood near the window as she looked at her brother going down.
The body she was in control of lost its power. Princess Valeria was shaking in fright. She looked around as her lady in waiting came in.
"Tell the secretary to meet me for tea. I have things to discuss with him." Princess Valeria ordered as she looked at the lady before turning around and walking out of the door.
The lady in waiting was frightened as she walked faster to go to find the secretary. She did not want Princess Valeria to wait. After all, the first Princess was the one who had killed her last lady in waiting.
When the secretary came, Princess Valeria was sitting in the garden surrounded by the blooming flowers.,
The secretary bowed in respect as he saw the first Princess sending her lady in waiting. "Do have a seat. I have been waiting for you."
The secretary sat after the words left Princess Valeroia’s mouth. "I wanted to come at the earliest but I was with the Emperor when I got the news." The secretary looked down at his teacup that was full. A smile played on his face as he moved his sight towards the Princess.
"Something is bothering you, Princess? You look in a hurry."
Princess Valeria’s eyes darkened. "That is because I am." The first Princess was losing her patience as she looked at the secretary in rage. "I am losing my powers."
"What do you mean by losing it?" The secretary smiled. "They were never yours, to begin with."
"Do you think I am in a mood to listen to your nonsense right now?" Princess Valeria leaned forward as she whispered. "I cannot control them fully."
"But I had told you so before." The secretary said in a matter-of-fact tone. "I had told you to be careful when you use the powers. They are not ultimate and they are not yours. They contain the limited span and looking at you, I guess you exhausted the powers."
"We need to do something now." Princess Valeria was panicking. Her eyes were turning dull thinking of the possibility.
’I cannot let it happen.,’
’Duke Salvador has started showing interest in me now.’
’How can I lose my powers now?’
’Not before I marry him.’
Princess Valeria looked at the secretary who was drinking the tea without any care. "Give me one more crystal."
The secretary’s eyes widened as the cup in his hands shook. "NO." The secretary’s tone was filled with determination. "I told you that only two crystals are left and I have already given you one."
Princess Valeria banged her hands on the tremble as her body was filled with rage. "So you are saying you will not give them to me? Are you sure?"
The secretary was a little afraid of the Princess. Her tone was filled with killing instinct and he knew that if the first Princess wanted then she could kill him off any moment.
"Princess, you need to calm down a little." The secretary kept the teacup down as he smiled "We need to get more crystal?"
"More crystals?" Princess Valeria smiled as her eyes shined brightly. "Do we have more crystals?"
The secretary nodded his head as he looked into Princess Valeria’s eyes. "But we have to travel long. The road will be dangerous."
"Why should I go with you?" Princess Valeria moved back as a smile performed on her face. "As a secretary, it is your duty to search for the crystal for your future Emperor. You were able to obtain the crystals first so you will be able to obtain it now."
The secretary did not change his expression as a straight answer flowed through his mouth. "NO."
