CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 165: Not Only Sleeping
Princess Elvira took the hold of Prince Carl’s hand.
Her eyes glowing with greed. She rested the crystal on her tongue as she told the prince to follow her instructions. "Close your eyes and concentrate. Feel the energy flowing in between us. Once you realize that you have found a connection, transfer your energy there and I will be able to utilize it. If you make a single mistake that would be deadly for both you and me." The witch’s tone was not high. It was as if she was afraid someone would listen to her but her words left a bitter taste and both Prince Carl and Princess Teimei’s mouths.
Unable to refuse the witch. Prince Carl followed the step to the tea. He knew that no matter what happens he could not mess this up. Because if everything works well and in their favor, then Princess Elvira would help them achieve what they have wanted for centuries.
Prince Carl started concentrating. There was no possibility of making mistakes because he knew that there would be no second chances.
Prince Carl knew that he could not disobey now. His heart was in a never-ending spur. As Prince Carl started to concentrate, a huge wave of wind passed through him as he was pushed back because of it. His legs shaking. Unable to hold on, Prince Carl fell down on the ground.
Princess Elvira’s eyes widened, she was angry and her whole body radiated rage. "WHO ..." she shouted as she moved her body to the side, but soon her eyes saw the glimpse of the tigers.
"I should have dealt with you first." The witch said in a matter-of-fact tone. "It was a mistake in the past and it’s a mistake now as well. But don’t worry, I will not repeat it again and again. I will destroy you from the very start."
The Tigers took a step forward as the water element said. "You really think we can be easily destroyed? You were unable to win in the past and you will be unable to fulfill your dreams now as well. You will not win."
Princess Elvira laughed. But her eyes were telling a different story. "You cannot do anything to me." Her voice was sharp "Because you need a human body to radiate your power, but once I kill that girl over there, what can you ever do to me then?" Princess Elvira looked past the tigers to see Princess Cassandra with hate.
"Do you think it is because I was sleeping that I have become powerless? I don’t have the capacity to defend myself and to kill you? Trust me, I can destroy you."
All the elements laughed as their voices could be heard in the surrounding. "You could not even kill us before centuries and you still think that we would be defeated by you? We are the elements. We are the natural forms of existence, while you and your power are drawn from us. If we do not exist, nor will your power."
Princess Elvira’s eyes narrowed. "Yes, you’re the elements, but I have made the deal with the devil." the witch’s eyes looked at Duke Salvador who still had his hands around the fifth Princess.
The witch looked at Princess Cassandra as her heart was filled with annoyance. She did look like her sister, Princess Maxima.
Princess Elvira moved her hands and a long aura surrounded her body. The sky was soon filled with an ominous air. Under the witch’s command, the aura moved from her body as it traveled towards the elements. The Tigers were soon captured in chains.
The chain wrapped their necks and legs, making them unable for them to move. The elements tried to remove it. Their powers did not work on it either.
It could be seen that Princess Elvira has thought about it a long time ago. She did not kill the elements as she claimed but she restricted their powers. The elements looked at each other before they disappeared and aura scattered around.
No one knew where the elements were. Everyone looked here and there but in vain.
Princess Cassandra could hear their complaining tone.
[She’s going to kill you. before she takes the darkness.] The elements told Princess Cassandra.
Princess Cassandra swallowed as she looked at the witch that was watching her as if she was her prey.
Princess Elvira was silent. Looking at the lady and the Duke together, the witch could feel the history repeating itself. Just like before, the man she wanted to have sacrificed himself for her sister.
Princess Elvira did not know whether to be amused by this or whether to be angry. It was always getting difficult for her to kill her sister. She knew that even for doing it, she had to lose the man she loved but Princess Elvira did not care. Because her powers allowed her to harvest energy from death.
Everyone saw that the aura had dispersed but soon they realized that it started to come together again. Their eyes opened as Princess Elvira enjoyed their surprised face.
"Did you all think that I was only sleeping for centuries? Even though I was like a dead person, I wasn’t actually dead. I had my subconscious intact. I did reflect and I knew what I have done wrong. I would not repeat my mistakes again. Did you forget what type of witch I am? I’m a witch of death and destruction, and I would do anything to destroy you." Princess Elvira’s eyes were focused on Princess Cassandra as her lips curled up into an evil smile. "Trust me on this one a little princess, I’m a person who did not think twice to kill her own sister, why would I care for someone like you?"
Listen to the words, the aura formed a large cloud in front of everyone. It started forming a shape.
Princess Cassandra swallowed hard as her breathing increased. Princess Cassandra took a decision. Her eyes were a little bloody as if trying to refocus things.
The fifth Princess knew that it was her chance to move forward and help her people. She wanted to help rather than put them in danger. She looked around as she saw Princess Teimei and Prince Carl on the ground. Prince Cedric was still hurt. The lifeless body of Princess Valeria was on the side that was damaged enough that she could not watch. Amy was still on the ground, trying to get up while Blazh and Lord Bentham stood behind her like a shield.
There were friends and enemies in the lot but Princess Cassandra knew that they were here for a reason. They were here because of her.
Princess Cassandra could feel that Princess Elvira’s powers had increased significantly or were it just her who could feel it? Was it because of the elements that such a feeling emerged in her body?
Maybe it was because Princess Elvira has been practicing in her consciousness for centuries. The powers that Princess Cassandra has just started out with.
The possibility of it being real was high. The elements looked at each other in space before they said to Princess Cassandra together. [We cannot change the course of time.]
Princess Cassandra could not understand. [Cannot change the course of time?] She asked in confusion.
[There should be a sacrifice. Nothing in life is easy. If you want to defeat her, the sacrifice would be important.]
Princess Cassandra’s eyes shook. She did not want it to use someone near her. Her gaze moved towards Duke Salvador.
The fifth Princess knew that Princess Maxima had lost her love in the fight with her sister. She did not want history to repeat itself. After all, this is just now that she has started to realize her own feelings. How could she just send the man she wants to love to die for her?
The elements were silent for a second before they reply even, [The history will repeat itself. The universe has its own way of rectifying itself, so if the decision is not made, the universe will find a way to make it happen?]
How could Princess Cassandra do it? The elements were telling her to kill someone for her, as they will be killed eventually. But how can one send someone they love to die so easily? It was not the battle where life and death were a matter of luck. It was a sacrifice.
Princess Cassandra swallowed and she took a step forward. Her eyes were shivering as she bit her lips. Of course, Cassandra knew what needed to be sacrificed and she was ready to do so.
Princess Cassandra had been observing the witch. According to what she had heard, the witch was jealous of her sister, jealous that she had found love, jealous that people started giving her sister more importance; it was sisterly jealousy that was taken too far. Too far that it killed them all.
Cassandra closed her eyes as she controlled her emotions. She took a breath as her eyes moved towards the aura forming the shape of a human. The fifth Princess had made up her mind.
Cassandra took a step forward as she stood in front of Duke Salvador.
