CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 94: Presentable
"Crystals?" Princess Valeria asked in amazement.
The anger in her voice reduced a lot as her eyes were filled with curiosity. "What can these crystals do? Can it make me control all the elements? Do you take me for a fool or are you enjoying ridiculing me?" Princess Valeria took a step forward as the fire in her hand increased.
"The secretary is a funny man. I never knew that you hated living in this world to this extent. Do you wish for your death so desperately?" Princess Valeria’s tone turns low as if ready to kill at any point.
"The first Princess should not come to a conclusion unless she tries this." The secretary moved towards the first Princess with a smile on his face. He took the crystal between his thumb and middle finger as his gaze shone with excitement. "The Princess will get addicted to the power for sure. You have trusted me so far so the first Princess should trust me henceforth too."
"I am here for our benefit. We are in this together so this is going to be for both of us. I will not betray you at this and definitely not at times like this. The first Princess trust’s me. Right?" The secretary took the crystal towards the first Princess as he placed it in front of her face.
Princess Valeria looked at the small thing as her gaze softened. The crystals shone in the moonlight as they mesmerized Princess Valeria’s sight. "What needs to be done with this."
The secretary’s lips curled up. "The Princess needs to consume it. She had to make sure that it gets incorporated into your body with your elements."
"Are you sure that it can be consumed? Does the secretary want to kill me?" Princess Valeria’s eyes narrowed as she looked at the secretary with rage.
The man was killing her with every word he said. Won’t she die trying to eat such things? Is it an assassination attempt that would disguise her death as suicide?
"You will not die, Princess. How do you think the current Emperor claimed the throne? He had consumed this as well. But we have to make sure that your core element does not destroy the other three elements. That is why you had to do the exercise. It is like fooling your element thinking that the other three have always been a part of you. That all the four elements are in harmony inside your body."
"But Princess there is still one thing that you need to know. Even after you consume it and become an expert in handling the powers, they are not yours. Depending on the usage, you will lose them eventually. So make sure that you use little power, only enough to claim the throne." 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
Princess Valeria took the crystals from the secretary’s hand as a smile formed on her face. "Should I just put this thing in my mouth?"
"Yes. Put it on the tongue and lick it slowly. You are a fire mage, so try burning the crystals slowly in the mouth. Try it and you will understand how it is done." The secretary said in a low tone. "But I have only two crystals left so handle it with care Princess. We have no other thing like this."
Princess Valeria nodded as her fingers touched the crystals slowly trying to feel the texture of the crystals. Once she was confident that she could try doing it, Valeria put it in her mouth.
The fire was concentrated but Valeria could not feel any difference. She opened her eyes as Princess Valeria narrowed her gaze. "Does this work?"
"Patience Princess. You should try. Do not give up." The secretary said in a soft tone trying not to anger the first Princess.
Princess Valeria did not believe the words of the secretary but still, she followed the instructions with closed eyes.

Prince Carl was sitting in the chair with a wine glass in his hand. The atmosphere was quiet as the soft wind played with the trees.
"It took you too long to come." Prince Carl said in a dull tone as he drank from the glass. His eyes took the glass up at his eye level as he saw through the glass towards the moon. "Are you avoiding me?"
"How can it be?" The man sat in the chair. "I was trying to control the mess you have created."
"Mess?" Prince Carl laughed as he looked at the man. "I thought I was trying to find a way out."
"Yes, you found a way out but kept me in the dark, only making me go along with your words."
Prince Carl smiled. "But you didn’t complain." Prince Carl blinked. "Right, cousin?"
The man looked at the Prince but did not reply. "Was it necessary to make everyone so uncomfortable? All the dukes were angry."
Prince Carl sneered. "What does it have to do with the dukes. I have a mission and I will do everything to achieve it. I do not care what the Dukes are feeling."
"Of course, the Vivere Kingdom’s Crown Prince does not care about the Dukes of Elvira Empire." The man’s tone softened. "But you involved the fifth Princess as well."
"Yes, I involved her as well." Prince Carl looked up at the moon with a soft gaze. "She does not belong here. It’s time for her to go back."
The man looked at the Vivere Kingdom’s Crown Prince as he sighed. "I am tired of all of this. I know that she needs to go there now but her situation is complicated."
"So what?" Prince Carl’s lips curled up. "She does not belong here. Cousin you need to refocus and make your priorities straight."
Prince Carl drank the remaining wine as he got up from the chair. "I care for her too. This is for her protection as well. It is our duty and hers as well."
Prince Carl walked out but before he left he said the last thing. "She is one of us. Don’t forget it, cousin. We are saving her."
The man looked at the walking back of the Vivere Kingdom’s Crown Prince. The man sighed as he looked up at the sky.
’I need things to go well.’
’I hope everything turns out just fine.’

[The roses will go there.]
[So many things are yet to be done.]
[Will this color look good?]
[Which dress should we choose for the Princess.]
[Ohh... What will happen when the first Princess comes here.]
[The first Princess does not like this shade. I need to change it soon.]
Many thoughts ran through Princess Cassandra’s mind as she walked through the hall towards the garden.
The morning was busting with energy as the ball would be conducted in the evening. All the maids were running around as the new clothes and jewelry were shifted from one place to another.
"Princess this way," Amy said in a soft tone to let the fifth Princess reach the destination.
Princess Teimei had demanded to have morning tea with all the Princesses under the pretense of knowing the culture of the Empire.
The Empress had a weird face when such a demand was made protectively but due to the position of Princess Teimei, the Empress had no other choice but to acknowledge it.
All the Princesses were informed to come out in the Empress’s garden for the morning tea. Although it looked like a normal invitation,. It was everything but that.
Every Princess knew the hidden meaning behind those words. ’Behave yourself and do not let the Empire’s face go down.’
Every Princess got ready as if they were attending an important event. Although the jewelry was not over the top, the shine was still there. The clothes were simple but made from expensive cloth giving them a particular shine.
[Why is the Princess looking there?]
[Will she like us?]
[The Empress is glaring at everyone. Was I mistaken?]
[Are the clothes too much?]
Princess Cassandra heard many thoughts as she entered the garden. She saw colorfully dressed ladies sitting in the middle of the rose garden. The mood was not happy.
’I feel like I have entered a party where everyone will be dead.’
’Is the tea poisoned?’
’Why is the atmosphere so depressing?’
’Or will someone die?’
Cassandra’s mind was running wide as she looked at the ladies. She smiled as she blew at the Empress.
The Empress looked at the fifth Princess as her gaze turned sharp. [What is she wearing?]
The Empress thought but soon she realized that it was a silly question. The fifth Princess did not have many dresses, to begin with. So the thing she was wearing was only passable.
[At least she is presentable.]
Princess Cassandra smiled as she sat on the chair. Amy was standing behind the fifth Princess with no reaction at all.
Cassandra had only taken the teacup in her hand when her movement halted.
[What took you so long Princess?]
[I was getting bored looking at all these dumb faces.]
Princess Teimei’s voice entered Cassandra’s mind.
