CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 136: The Embryo
Selina dropped Leslie on the ground. She turned to the vault mechanically.
"Watch him, Aurora." Selina said.
"Yes, ma’am!" Aurora saluted like a soldier. Selina was much more intimidating in her dark knight form.
"Heh." The goth girl chuckled before taking the sword from Aurora’s arms.
Selina plunged the sword at the vault but was unable to get through it. The tip of the sword stopped a few inches inside.
Leslie gulped, "That’s a 2-meter thick steel vault. You need something much more powerful to break it down."
"And the code?" Selina said.
"Only Marcus knows it. But he’s dead now." Leslie said.
"No worries. I will cut this door down."
Selina grabbed the sword with two hands. Purple energy leaked out of the armor and helmet and went inside the sword. The purple sword shined brighter. Veins of purple ran on its blade.
It became brighter and brighter until it was similar to a fluorescent light.
Selina sliced the Nether Sword at the vault. The purple sword fang shot out and clipped the vault door in half. It dropped to the ground, one piece fell to the front and the other fell inside.
The black cat jumped inside. There was no wraith. Instead there was a single large egg in the middle of the room.
Along with the eggs were countless other things. Drugs, weapons, and even a stash of mobile credits.
The black cat dipped its soft paw inside the stash of credits. "Quite a lot inside."
Selina walked to the middle of the room and looked at the egg. It was a particular brown egg with a rough surface. Selina touched it gently.
The egg was soft and it was breathing.
"This thing doesn’t look like an egg. It looks like..." Selina said.
"An Embryo."
The black cat climbed on Selina’s shoulders and took a closer look at the egg.
"An artificial NCE Embryo to be exact. Someone created this to birth a wraith." The black cat meowed.
"Is it useful? Or should we destroy it?" Selina said.
"I’m not really sure... Let’s see if I can examine it."
Mater flicked his paw. The Dark Grimoire flew out of the backpack Aurora was wearing and went inside the vault.
The leathery book stood up straight, it flipped to page 18th, where the knight wraith was located.
The current layout of the Dark Grimoire was as below.

A black hole appeared on the page and it pulled the Embryo inside.
[Half-Dead Wraith Embryo]
[Rank]: 1
[Level]: 0
[Description]: The embryo of an unborn wraith. It has the soul of a star that once pulled millions of men down to their knees. The soul was taken away forcefully from its corpse. However, it couldn’t be born because it didn’t have a tragic death nor does it have any unresolved business.
[Spells]: None
[Passive Ability]:
- Reminiscence: It relives its past constantly in its dream.
"Huh." The black cat stroked its whiskers while reading the page.
"What is it?" Selina said.
"It is an Embryo of a Wraith. But it is a failed product. The wraith belongs to a good soul and therefore it can’t become malicious." The black cat meowed.
"How particular. How should we deal with it?" Selina said.
"We can release it back to its corpse so it can pass on to the afterlife. We don’t have much use for it."
"What?!" Selina widened her eyes a little. "My evil kitty wants to do a good deed?"
Mater hissed at Selina, "Nonsense! It’s simply a useless egg. I just want to get rid of it!"
"Then we can give it to the ACPD then?"
"Also, nonsense! I don’t trust those cops!"
Selina pulled the helmet out. She returned to her usual cheerful self and her gothic appearance. The armor disappeared instantly.
Leslie adjusted his glasses in surprise.
Selina picked the cat up and rubbed its head aggressively. "You lying tsundere cat!"
Mater hissed at her but didn’t stop her from petting him violently.
They cleaned out the vault before calling the ACPD. Selina picked some weapons that she found interesting or felt nice in the hands. Then they took away all the mobile credits.
Mater stuffed everything in his mouth. The pocket dimension of his Demonic Arsenal was rather spacious.
After that, Crow flew down from above and turned into a large eagle that carried Leslie away.
"What?! What is this thing?!" Leslie shouted in fear.
"Shut your mouth or I’ll drop you." Crow said.
Leslie was a useful chemist. Mater wanted to know more about HAS so he’s keeping Leslie.
Mater and Selina messed up the fake penthouse a little bit to make it look like they have a big fight with some NCE.
"What should we do with those thugs down there? Just let the ACPD deal with them?" Selina said.
"You know what. I have a much better idea." The black cat licked its mouth deviously.
A few hours later. Selina waited patiently in front of the building with her black cat. Aurora had jumped inside the Dark Grimoire to avoid confrontation with the police.
Soon, police cars drove in and surrounded the house.
Cole exited the car. "Miss Isles! I knew it was you again."
"Hellow, Officer Cole. How are you these days?"
"Eh. Still tired as always. After Carpenter left, I had even more stuff to do."
"Lucy... left?" Selina’s pupils dilated in surprise.
"Yeah. She said something about going to college again and that the police life isn’t for her. Honestly, I think so too. And I hope she finds a good place to fit in."
"Certainly." Selina smiled, hiding her thoughts.
"Oh? The spy survived? A Chaos Ritual, perhaps?" The black cat rolled its eyes and thought about the possibilities.
"Well. We’re going to check the place now. You can go as usual. We will reach out for further reports later."
"See you later, Officer Cole."
Selina waved as Cole and the other policemen rushed into the house.
They were horrified to find every single thug inside the building was killed off. None survived.
Cole adjusted his suit nervously. A policeman coughed gently behind him.
"Um... What was that Bounty Hunter’s name again, Cole?"
