Chapter 144: Chapter 144: Psycho Chaos Eyes

Selina jumped inside the wine cellar and slammed heavily on top of the wraith.

It was another female with tattered clothing on its body. Selina punched the wraith heavily on the face.

The wraith wasn’t even able to say anything. It was overwhelmed with hard Chaos reinforced punches. Within seconds, its face crumbled beyond recognition.

Selina opened her mouth and sucked all the Chaos out of it. The wraith dissolved into nothing.

"Hah. So delicious." Selina said.

Her Psycho Force grew even larger. But there was something different about her Chaos Singularity.

The humans of this world had Psycho Force for their Singularity. It was connected directly to their mind and emotions. The bigger their Chaos Well was, the easier it was for them to go completely mad.

Selina could feel it in her mind. Thoughts and emotions of unimaginable things flooded her mind. The Abyssal Helmet kept her sane thanks to its mental immunity. But she knew if she took it off, something would happen.

"My mind is breaking, Mater. Absorbing these Chaos did someone to me." Selina said calmly.

"Hmm? Let me see."

The black cat jumped on her and put his paw on her forehead. His Chaos flooded her Chaos Singularity.

"I see. Your Psycho Force is actually a force of psychosis. The more powerful you are, the more insane you will be." The black cat meowed.

"How should we deal with this? There must be a way. I can’t lose myself."

"What’s wrong with that?" The black cat grinned widely.

Selina lowered her head. She remembered something that Dr. Avaline had said when she took the Psychic test. Their Psycho Force could affect their mental health.

Selina told Mater about it.

The black cat laughed and said, "Mental health is a thing. But do you remember what I taught you about using your Chaos?"

Selina nodded, "Feel your emotions. Acknowledge that they’re there. But do not let it control you."

"A good mind isn’t a suppressive mind. A good mind is a mind that is free. Free from constraints. And free from yourself."

Mater allowed the Chaos in his blood to flood out uncontrollably. Immediately, the small black cat turned into a creature of nightmares. A devil walked out of hell.

His face twisted into the most hideous thing one could imagine. His body was terror incarnation.

He turned to Selina. Right now, she was finally able to see the real him. The true Warlock of Chaos.

"Chaos is a powerful tool, darling. It eats me away every second. It calls and it thirsts."

Suddenly, Mater returned to normal and was back to the small kitty cat that was licking his fur.

"But I do not allow it to control me. That is how you master Chaos. Not run from it. Not suppress it. But accept it."

Selina watched everything calmly. The helmet prevented her from having any overwhelming emotion. Only logical reasoning was left behind.

"I want to take the helmet off." Selina said.

Mater grinned devious, "Why?"

"To feel the force of Chaos and master it."

"It will be painful. It will be difficult. And it will be long like eternity."

The Dark Knight placed her hand on Mater’s head. For the first time ever when wearing the helmet, Selina showed emotion. She smiled.

"What kind of a dark queen am I if I can even control my own power?"

"Very well. You can take it off. If anything happens, I will protect you."

"I’ll know you do, Mr. Mater. I know."

Selina grabbed the helmet and lifted it. Her long dark hair fell out of the helmet. She held everything in and placed the helmet down on the ground.

Selina started laughing non-stop. She covered her mouth but she couldn’t stop. Her eyes welled with tears of sorrow. Her body trembled in fear. Her mind was flooded with despair and lust.

Everything came all at once.

Selina fell to the ground, laughing, crying, moaning, all at the same time.

Mater continued grooming himself while watching with great focus. Being a Warlock wasn’t without consequences. There were many times that a Warlock was betrayed by his own Chaos and became something even more horrible.

But they were creatures of war. And through pain and suffering, they emerged. There was no escaping from it. The more you ran, the weaker you were.

You could only accept it.

It went on for half an hour. Selina didn’t beg for Mater’s help. She was a strong and resilient girl.

At minute 31st, she stopped and slowly sat back up.

"Are they gone?" The black cat jumped into her laps.

Selina smiled wickedly. Her smile contained the cruelty that was never there before. "No, Mr. Mater. They aren’t. But they couldn’t control me any more."

The black cat purred and rubbed into her sweat smelling skin, "That’s my girl."

She stood up and grabbed the Abyssal Helmet.

"This Demonic Item is very powerful. But I think using it will make me weaker. I need to get used to this state first." Selina said.

"A wise choice. I was just about to recommend that to you."

The black cat opened his mouth and swallowed the entire Abyssal Helmet in a cartoonish way.

Selina’s eyes were different. They weren’t purple because of the Nether. Nor were they the original black. They were red.

"I can see it now, Mr. Mater. The Chaos in the air." Selina scanned the wine cellar. There were many traces of Chaos there.

The black cat squirmed in her arms. "Congratulations, Selina. You were able to learn Chaos Eyes naturally. It is a very powerful spell. It’s the most basic tool that any Chaos User needs."

Selina’s vision blurred and she stumbled on her feet. Mater immediately covered her eyes with his paws.

"You shouldn’t use it too much at the beginning though. It can put a strain on your eyes. Retreat your Chaos slowly."

Selina nodded and followed Mater’s guidance. She’s a Chaos User. But she’s not a Warlock. Warlock had Demonic Artifacts to circumvent many weaknesses a Chaos User had.

Mater could use Chaos Eyes all he liked because of the Dark Grimoire and Spell Inscription. Selina couldn’t.

Soon, Selina was able to open her eyes again. Her irises had returned to black. But the craziness in her gaze was still there.

"Thank you, my little prince."

"Heh heh. Just hug me tight tonight."

Selina leaned down and whispered in the black cat’s ear, "Of course. With no clothes as usual."

Mater shivered all over. ’Damn. She’s really leaning more into the dark side. Just the way I like it!’

The black cat pointed forward, "Let’s find that undead, Selina!"

The goth girl nodded.
