CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 180: Hidden Pathway
Crow slowly walked into the rows of sewing machines. There was no one there but Mater’s Chaos Eyes said differently.
"They’re on the sewing machines."
Crow turned and slashed at the two nearest sewing machines. The blades cut the machines in two, with that, two smoky wraiths appeared and screamed.
Crow’s attack caused a chain reaction. Wraiths appeared in each sewing machine and rushed at Crow like ants. They all had smoky bodies. The brown coarse smoke that came out of the fire.
"Help him, Aurora." The black cat meowed.
"Got it, Master."
Aurora clasped her hands together. Ice Pillars shot up around Crow, trapping a few wraiths and limiting the direction the wraiths could attack.
"The Bounty did say that the NCEs are afraid of fire. I wonder if this candle has any effect on them?" Selina said.
"Try it out." The black cat stroked its whiskers.
Crow spun in place. His curved blade sliced at all the wraiths rushing in. They weren’t strong but in this large stitching room, there must be at least a hundred of them or more.
Crow joined the two swords together. It then transformed into a large polearm with a curved blade, best for fighting multiple enemies and denying an entire area.
Crow swung the polearm, slicing every wraith that came close.
Selina approached him from behind and raised the candle high. The flame shined brighter, causing the wraiths to retreat and not come near.
Mater jumped on the Dark Grimoire and flew higher for a better view point.
"The candle is useful after. Let’s kill these ghosts."
Mater opened his mouth and shot out Nether Spheres as much as he could. The Nether Spheres slammed into the crowd of wraiths and began their destruction.
The black cat also raised his paw and called upon Hellfire’s Pit. The hellfire spell was extra effective against these wraiths. They were burned instantly and died off like flies.
"Stay behind, my lady."
Crow turned into a strip of shadow and rushed into the crowd of wraiths. His polearm sliced all the wraiths on his paths and cut them down like reeds.
"There are a lot of wraiths. But they’re weak." Aurora summoned Ice Spikes and helped clean up the smoky wraiths.
"A few hundred people died here in the fire. There should be many." Mater paused to meow then continued blasting Nether Spheres.
They were the first group that was able to survive the stitching room for so long. For other Psychics, they never spent too long in this room. They always used the candle to get the hell out of here as quickly as possible.
The usual Psychics didn’t have enough firepower to mass murder the wraiths like Mater.
Mandy rejoined her high school group. They were walking in the hallway when they heard the non-stop explosion in the stitching room.
They looked at each other in confusion before deciding to take a peek inside.
"Holy Shit!"
"They’re massacring those NCEs like nothing!"
"Big Sister Selina just stands there..."
"Well. The cat is her familiar, right? So she is still doing damage. But I wonder who the other two are."
"That white lady looks so beautiful! My gawd! I can feel my legs throbbing."
The school girls turned back and looked at that one girl that just commented.
"You’re freaky, Ashley!"
"Stop drooling, girl!"
"We should record this and show everyone else."
A student took out her phone and was about to record everything. The group jerked back in fear because Aurora was standing in front of them.
"When did you get here?!" Mandy shrunk her head back.
"It’s not nice stalking us." Aurora smiled. She was still as cold as ever.
Her smile caused all the students to tremble. Both because of fear and the low temperature she’s giving.
"We’re sorry..."
The student pocketed their phone.
Before they left, Aurora grabbed that one girl named Ashley who commented about her.
"Since you like me so much." The Glacial Wight kissed Ashely gently on the cheek.
Then she closed the door to the stitching room tight. Ashley froze in place while touching her cheek.
"Damn, she’s lucky!"
"You’re alright, there?"
Ashely fainted.
Mater’s group wasted a while to finish off the wraiths. It took them almost half an hour. It wasn’t dangerous but it felt tedious as hell.
Mater opened his mouth and pulled in all the Chaos.
"121 wraiths. 121 Chaos Spheres. That’s a lot."
Prior to this room, Mater also collected 30 Chaos Spheres. The total he had gained was 151 Chaos Spheres.
This made the total of Mater’s Chaos Spheres to 415.
"Damn. I have a lot of Chaos Spheres. I shouldn’t have any problem upgrading my spells later when I reach Bio-Lock."
Crow sat on a table. It had been a while since he felt so exhausted. Aurora sat on the opposite table of him.
"Fill yourself back up."
Mater spat out 26 Chaos Spheres, 13 each for Crow and Aurora. Thankfully because they’re servants, Mater could replenish them with much less Chaos Spheres than an actual Chaos User.
Mater’s total spheres went down to 389.
’They should be less reliant on me and the Shrines once they reach rank-2. Unfortunately, in order to rank them up, I need to become a rank-2 myself.’ The cat thought to himself. ’Let’s hope there is a powerful level 10 wraith in this Factory.’
Once Aurora and Crow recovered, the group spread out to look for any clues inside the stitching room. At first glance, there wasn’t anything too noticeable.
But then Selina and her candle reached the end of the room. The candle shined on the cement wall and revealed a star.
"What is this?" Selina gently touched the wall.
The star seemed unreal. It flickered like the flame on the candle.
Mater and the servants approached the place. "This is... Chaos Sculpting. Someone folded the physical space of this place to hide something."
The cat flew closer to the wall and placed his paw on there. With his Chaos, Mater undid the previous Chaos Sculpting and revealed a door with a red star on it.
"A hidden pathway?" Selina’s eyes squinted gently.
"Kick that down, Crow!"
Crow stepped forward and kicked the door open.
