Mater touched the Golden Staff with his paws. He could feel the power of Fate inside. The positive force of the universe.

Fate could grant power similar to Chaos. But what separated it from Chaos was destiny. A capable Fate User could bend fate and manipulate probability.

For a mortal, that was a death sentence. No mortal could face the power of Fate.

Chaos User was the outlier. Chaos did not obey Fate and it could break all rules within the universe. The rules that Fate governed upon.

This was why there had been a long war between Chaos and Fate in his old world.

Unfortunately, they both lost. The winner of that war was the neutral side. Those that did not obey both Fate and Chaos.

’There might be a way for me to gain more Fate. Chaos could break all rules. What if it could also break the rule that prevents a Chaos User from using Fate? They only lack a catalyst to do so.

Mater floated to the air. Chaos flooded out from his body and enveloped the two items.

The process had begun. And the abnormal phenomenon once again rained down upon Aeliz City.

The people in Aeliz City heard ringing and singing noises in their ears. Incomprehensible singing. They couldn’t understand it.

The people in the AE Forges heard this most clearly and the farther it was, the less clear they could hear it.

The sky was dark that day because of thick gray clouds. Suddenly, the air cleaned itself and the sun shined even brighter.

Those gray clouds turned gold. Seven colors of the rainbow embedded on them.

"What’s going on?" John looked through the window and frowned.

"Miss Selina Isles reached the 500 tokens mark. If she successfully graduates in the Institute, nothing can stop her from becoming a Gold Rank Hunter." Olivia was behind him, looking at a clipboard in her hands.

"Should we intervene?"

"We have a few interns that are joining the Institute this year, right?" John said.

"That’s right, Sir Titan. A few of them are very powerful Psychics." Olivia said.

"I want her to be unable to attend the school." John said. His fists clenched tightly.

Detective Baltimore walked out of the door. His body was soaked in blood. The police showed up.

Cole walked out of the car and commanded the cops to raid the place.

"Are you okay, Detective?!" Cole asked.

"I’m fine. But they should know their places now." Alister said.

"God Damn!" Another cop shouted when he saw the bodies inside the building.

These weren’t just ordinary people. They were trained mercenaries of VOID, Vanguard Offensive Infiltration Dynamics. This was a secret assassin organization.

They were the one who had accepted the mission of attacking Selina.

"Miss Isles would be grateful if she knows." Cole said.

"Don’t tell her anything. I didn’t do this for her gratitude. Her mother isn’t here. I will protect Selina on her behalf."

"Detective... I heard you are thinking about becoming our CO. Is that true, sir?" Cole said.

CO was short for Commanding Officer. It was another name for Captain. A captain led the entire police station and reported back to the large divisions.

There were only four divisions in Aeliz City, each included a collection of individual police stations.

"I am, Cole. I have been stagnant as a detective for too long now. It’s time to move on."

"I’m happy to hear that, sir!"

Alister was a talented detective. He was also a second Rank Psychic with the potential to become Rank-3. If it wasn’t for what happened in the past, he would have been Rank-3 long ago and even become a Police Chief or something similar.

It pained Cole to see him like this but he couldn’t do anything to help Alister.

"I need someone on my side, Cole. Do you want to become a Sergeant, son?"

Cole widened his eyes. "Really, sir? But I don’t think I have the qualifications."

"You can easily get it with your talents, Cole. If you want, I can arrange it for you. You can join the Institute.

Of course, I would need you to do something for me."

"You want me to watch over Miss Isles, right?"

Alister nodded, "If you agree. Her mother is a PHANTOM. Selina is a capable girl. But her mother has many enemies."

"Don’t worry, sir! I’ll do it."

"Thank you, Cole."

Alister lifted his head up and saw the golden clouds.

"The weather today is nice." He said.

The Golden Staff shrunk in size. It became a small gold wand. The Chaos Collector transformed into a small red ruby with two metallic circles wrapped around it. The ruby engraved itself on the wand.

The Fate Wand floated to Mater.

"It is done."

[Tier]: Rare

[Description]: A demonic item made from the power of a Holy Ascendant and a Chaos Artifact derived from higher beings. It had the power of both Fate and Chaos inside it.

[Abilities]:

- Nature Shift: The wand can switch between a Demonic state and a Holy state. While in Demonic State, all Chaos spells casted with the wand are much more powerful. While in Holy State, all Chaos spells will become Fate spells instead and deal Holy Damage. In Holy State, all casted spells will use the wand’s internal Fate storage instead of the user.

- Twin Collector: The wand naturally collects Chaos in the surrounding area. This Chaos can be converted into Fate with an exchange rate of 2:1.

- Holy/Demonic Fire: Innate spell. All wielders of the wand can cast this spell without mastering it. Its version is based on which state the wand is in. Holy Fire: Create a beam of pure Holy Fire to attack the enemy. Demonic Fire: Choose a location to release an explosion with Demonic Fire inside.

- Holy Feathers: Innate Spell. Available only in the Holy State. Summon gold feathers made of Fate to attack the enemy. The feathers automatically follow the target.

- Demonic Drain: Innate spell. Available only in the Demonic State. All Chaos spells casted with the wand will automatically drain the Chaos inside the enemies.

"This is a very good wand." The black cat grinned widely. "Who wants to see me test it?"

Everyone raised their hands.
