Chapter 230: Chapter 230: The Campus

"It is me, Aurora." Lucyna smiled and walked past them. She maintained a polite and friendly facade.

Lucyna knew how dangerous Aurora could be. She was not going to ruin her first day at school by poking at a bear like that.

’And that cat.’ Lucyna squinted her eyes. ’That is no ordinary familiar.’

Aurora watched as Lucyna left.

"Who’s that?" Becky said.

"Someone that I used to know." Aurora said.

Lucyna stopped in front of Lalo. They were acquaintances. Their families had formed a temporary alliance together.

After the incident in the White Seam Factory, the Von Schattenbergs fell into a dilemma. They bet a lot of resources into it with the hope of creating a strong relic. It failed and they couldn’t do anything about it because the Union protected Selina.

They had to join forces with the weakened Zakharovs to make sure their position in the Supernatural World wouldn’t be shaken.

"Hello, Lalo." Lucyna said.

"Lucyna..." Lalo nodded.

Lucy wore a dark red dress with an open back. The red lightning bolts spread across her pale skin. Lalo had to admit that Lucyna was very attractive. But he knew better than to bite this trap.

Lucyna wasn’t human. And Lalo didn’t want to go crazy just yet.

"Shall we?" Lucyna said.

Lalo nodded and followed Lucyna to the ceremony.

Cole arrived at the Institute. His uniform was the most modest. A simple suit and tie.

He noticed Becky. They worked together many times in the past.

"Miss Martinez! You’re so early!" Cole rushed over to the group.

"Yeah. We decided to go a little early to meet up. I think you know most of the people here."

Cole met Loretta before. He also saw Aurora when she was with Selina. The only person he didn’t know was Evelynn.

"Jean Mollison. It’s a pleasure to see you." Evelynn smiled.

"Wait! Aren’t you..." Cole widened his eyes.

"Unfortunately, it is me." Evelynn smiled.

After Evelynn got Jean’s identity, she was busy. She attended interviews as Jean and refuted most of the things that Jean said.

It was an attempt to clear Evelynn’s name. This became headlines for a couple of days and went very viral on the interweb.

Now everyone thought that Jean was forced into lying about Evelynn. The actual reason behind that was unknown. Some theorized it was because of the hidden organizations within the Valley Film Industry. Some theorized it tied with the Mafia. Many conspiracy theories were raised.

Cole was a police officer so he knew more than the regular people. There were actual factions inside Aeliz City playing chess together. Cole didn’t understand why and couldn’t care much. But as long as those factions didn’t affect civilians and the innocents, it was not related to the ACPD.

"Oh? That’s a nice suit, Officer Cole." Selina’s voice came from behind.

She returned from the parking area with Blanche and Mater.

The black cat walked elegantly on the rock path. His eyes darted around to examine the new students arriving in the Institute.

’Gyatdamn! I like this school already!’ There were a lot of beautiful women in the university.

He was no better than Lalo and got his eyes on the women immediately. The cat had a limitation however. It just liked to feast its eyes without the intention to actually do anything.

Mater had the best girls around him already. Why should he ask for more?

"Miss Isles!" Cole took his hat off as a greeting. His uniform included a police cap to connect to his profession.

"Let’s go to the ceremony." Selina said.

The group walked on the crowded campus of the Institute of Supernatural Interference.

Eyes followed them. They were too unique to miss.

Cole was a police officer for starters. His uniform stated that clearly. There were only a few law-enforcements enrolling in the Institute.

Becky was a little bit famous because of her popularity in the mainstream media. She was also a real private investigator that also did non-supernatural jobs.

Loretta was similar to Becky and had a little bit of popularity because of her identity as a Seer.

Aurora wasn’t famous but her beauty was something that Becky and Loretta couldn’t be compared with. A few male students were completely hypnotized by her.

Evelynn was the most famous of them all, generally speaking. She wore the face of an actor after all. She would have been even more famous if she showed her true self.

In the front was Selina. Selina was rather unknown in the non-supernatural world. But her name was the hottest search recently in the supernatural world.

She won the defamation case against the AS Journal. She completed many difficult bounties and was the top 1 Psychic of the Bronze Rankings. She was also ’Big Sister’. A title that had been acknowledged by the Menace-level Psychic.

’Big Sister should not be messed with’.

’Big Sister will eat you alive’.

’Big Sister is very dangerous’.

Or so they said. Rumors spread without containment.

"Isn’t that Big Sister?"

"Damn! That black-haired girl is beautiful!"

"Is that Jean Mollison?! I didn’t know she was also a Psychic!"

"Big Sister has a police officer guarding her? She really is a big deal, huh..."

"Is that her famous familiar? That cat looks smug as hell!"

The ceremony was held in the central campus field of the Institute. A high platform in the middle with the podium for speech.

Around the platform were many rows of chairs. Each class had three rows of their own.

Selina and her group found their class’s rows and sat down.

There were many other members of their class that were already there.

Aurora sat beside Selina and whispered to her and Mater about Lucyna. She pointed to the red-haired girl that was sitting in the opposite row of them.

Selina’s expression went cold immediately.

Lucyna’s gaze met Selina. She waved at Selina in a friendly way. Selina, however, did not wave back.

"You know that goth girl?" Lalo leaned over to Lucyna and said.

"A former friend. But we’re enemies now." Lucyna said.

"Sounds like you two have quite a history." Lalo said.

"You could say that."

"I like that girl. Maybe I can fix your relationship once I have her."

Lucyna’s head slowly turned to Lalo. Its movement was mechanical in an eerie way.

"That would be difficult, Lalo. She isn’t just anybody. She’s Big Sister."
