Chapter 247: Chapter 247: Student vs. Professor

There were way more people at the arena than usual. Everyone came and filled the empty seats just to watch how a student would fare against a professor.

A professor gained their respect not just because of their title and rank. But also because of their knowledge. They knew enough to teach others. The amount of Psycho Skills and Psionics they could use could be night and day to an untrained Psychic.

Selina stood inside the arena. In front of her was the black cat. Its tail wagged from side to side repeatedly, signalling its earnestness to this fight.

"Try not to humiliate him too much, Mater." Selina said.

The black cat cracked its neck, "No worries. I know when to stop."

Professor Brookes appeared. He had put on his battle suite. His battle suit was also a long dark robe with Psychowares hidden beneath.

The notable difference in this suit was the sleeveless arms. They revealed the countless tattoos on his arms. Each was a Psycho Slaves.

Professor Brookes had no helmet or visor. He stood on the opposite side, staring at Selina.

She looked like him, Thomas. But she also looked like her, the PHANTOM. That irritated Solomon to his core. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Solomon didn’t like that woman. He always thought of her as a whore.

"Is this your only slave, Miss Isles? This fragile cat will be killed. My slaves are all NCEs." Solomon said.

The black cat spat out the Abyssal Helmet.

"Wear the armor, Selina. Just to make sure you won’t be hurt." The black cat meowed. He didn’t use human tongue so no one else could understand him except for Selina.

The goth girl took the helmet.

"This cat has killed many more NCEs than you can imagine, Professor Brookes. I would be the one that needed to watch my back if I were you."

Selina put on the helmet. The Dark Knight Armor materialized around her.

Lucyna was also in the crowd. "A helmet? Levy once possessed a relic in the form of a helmet. But this helmet feels much different... Much more powerful..."

Lucyna didn’t think it was the DD Helmet that Levy had owned. They had nothing similar to each other. The appearance was different. And the NES exuded from the helmet was also a different kind.

The DD Helmet was more mental anguish. That helmet was rage. A pure Fury type of NES.

But it puzzled Lucyna. A Fury NES typically was very unstable. But when Selina used that helmet, her emotional state flatlined. It’s as if he had neutralized all of her emotions.

"A relic that deafens all your emotions? But why does it have rage in it?" Lucyna mumbled to herself.

What she felt was not Fury NES. That’s the spirit of vengeance inside the helmet. The nameless knight that Mater fused.

Professor Brookes’s expression turned serious. Selina’s aura was weak. But once she put the helmet on, she transformed into a completely different person.

He could see a mountain of corpses behind her. A mere illusion created by the Helmet’s Chaos. It wasn’t real. But its pressure was very real.

No relics could do that. Professor Brookes was sure of it. So instead, he thought that the Helmet acted as a key to reveal the true ’Selina’.

"Pleasure to finally meet you, Selina Isles. What should I call you in this state?" Solomon said.

"Names are pointless. It’s what you do and the content of your character matter. You have attacked me and disrespected my ally. I will not tolerate such hostility."

Selina didn’t tell Mater to give her the steel sword. She summoned the Nether Sword.

A purple great sword appeared in her hands. The crowd went wild. Many students stood up immediately.

"That is!"

"An Elemental Psionic?"

"Is that Darkness? No one has been able to use it since the Great War!"

Professor Abraham was there. His student challenged a professor. It was his responsibility to back them up and make sure the HQ wouldn’t lose its face. As for whether it was right or wrong, that could be discussed later.

Howard smiled and chugged the aluminum flask down his throat. The alcohol burned.

"The girl is even more powerful than I thought." Professor Abraham mumbled.

He didn’t like that Solomon asshole as well. But he couldn’t let Selina just do as she liked. Using lethal force in the Institute was forbidden.

Howard approached the Arena, "Lethal force is not allowed in the premises of the Institute, Miss Isles."

"Don’t worry, Howard. I’ll know when to stop." Selina said.

Solomon also waved his hand dismissively, "You think too little of me, drunk man."

The Black Professor raised an arm. A tattoo lit up.

It jumped out of his skin and transformed into a giant gecko. It was not a living being but a wraith in gecko form.

Selina slammed the tip of the Nether Sword onto the ground and tested her hands on it. She watched and did nothing.

Solomon frowned. He wasn’t quite sure what was happening.

The black cat floated up in the air. With Omnimotion, it could literally go anywhere it wanted, earth, ocean, or sky.

Selina was one of a few students that attended multiple main classes. Everyone knew that she herself was a threat and was not a useless Psychic like many Psycho-Slave Psychics were.

But everyone thought she would bring out every trump card to win the fight. Instead, she only stood and watched the kitty perform.

"How about a little fire from the underworld?" The black cat raised its paw.

A circle of fire formed around the gecko’s feet. The gecko wraith turned invisible and jumped away.

The ring of fire literally dug a hole in the arena and blew off the barrier at the top.

"Shit!" Howard quickly reinforced the barrier and raised it to Hazard-level.

The barrier fixed itself and recovered.

"What kind of fire was that?" Solomon raised an eyebrow.

He threw his suspicion out of the window and commanded the invisible gecko to attack Mater.

"Invisibility and illusion are useless against me."

The black cat blinked. His eyes turned into a deep dark abyss with a blood octagram rotating in each eye. It could detect the gecko easily.

Mater pressed the gold watch on his front leg. A blinding green light took over him.

The gecko opened its mouth and shot out a ball of acidic substance toward the green light.
