CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 288: Dark Warden
The nameless knight was mostly used as an item as he could greatly enhance his wearer. When somebody wore the helmet, they gained access to his ability and skill. This also meant that the wearer would gain access to Mater’s spells that the nameless knight equipped through the Pact.
"You already have a great set of powers. I’m thinking about giving you some spells that can push you even further." The black cat mumbled.
The nameless knight stayed silent.
Crow stepped forward, placing a hand on the knight before turning toward the cat’s eyes in the sky.
"Why don’t we raise his rank first, Master? We still have the Nether Disk, which could help him advance to Rank-2." Crow said.
"Not a bad idea. We aren’t in a rush anyway. We need to also collect the Shrine from Aaron Cage’s tomb and the cold storage." Mater said.
"Yup. We will need to terminate the renting contract with Rowan and Ash also." Selina added.
Mater established the new Submission Pact with the nameless knight.
Afterwards, Selina exited the Prison while the servants stayed inside the pocket dimension. The place was huge so they had a lot of room to play around.
With the power of Warden, Aurora, Crow, and Bash could traverse between floors. The three of them and the rest of the servants had a little tour inside the Prison.
They went to Crow’s Floor of Darkness second to see the Never-ending Wood and its black and white colors. Then they went to Aurora’s Floor of Blizzard, which was cold as hell and caused Evelynn to tremble.
"One place is hot. One place is cold. Then another is so horrific. Why isn’t there a place for me?!" Evelynn cried pitifully. "Doesn’t the Master like me?"
Aurora had to comfort the little Siren, "Don’t worry, Evelynn. He probably forgot."
Evelynn cried even harder, "I didn’t even have a Shrine yet."
Sparrow turned away and acted like he knew nothing. He and Evelynn became Mater’s servants at the same time. But Sparrow already had a Shrine.
The truth was. Mater didn’t find a good place for her. He also thought that it was unnecessary to build a Shrine for Evelynn at the moment. After all, he didn’t need Evelynn for combat yet. And she was enrolling in the Institute, a rather safe location without much trouble.
Selina and Mater approached Rowan, who was assessing the status of the fair. Luckily, not many structures were affected because of the brief earthquake.
"What on Earth just happened... A micro-quake or something?" Rowan scratched his head. "Oh hey, Selina! Already finished?"
Selina was holding the black cat in her arms like a baby. She nodded in response.
"I need to discuss something with you, Rowan." Selina told him about the end of contract.
"You’re leaving? That’s a pity. We were just getting familiar with having you around.
Don’t worry about it. I’ll figure out the paperwork later. As for the payment... You can just pay for the days you stayed this month and the utility, how about that?"
"Yeah... So. There’s a problem."
Rowan thought Selina didn’t have enough money or something. He didn’t think that she would tell him that the forge was in a poor condition because of excessive use.
"What the hell did you even do, Selina?" Rowan widened his eyes, "You’re the same as that bastard, Tony, heh?"
Rowan laughed out loud. He was referring to the other Psychic renting a studio inside the AE Forges, the one that made the battle suit for Selina.
"I’m sorry. I’ll pay for it!" Selina said.
"No worry, Selina. I’ll have someone over to assess the forge. I’ll send you the bill together with the paperwork. Is that good?"
"That’s awesome. Thanks."
"Hey. We’re currently missing a Knight character for our Hymn of the Battlefield. You want in?"
The black cat lifted its head up. Its ears perked up suspiciously.
’A coincidence? Heh... Nothing is a coincidence for those Faeries. They’ll probably sense me.’ Mater stroked his whiskers in deep thought.
Faeries were also famous for their Fate manipulation. Mater wouldn’t be surprised if this Hymn was some kind of Fate ritual.
As if Selina could sense Mater’s suspicion, she turned to the black cat for guidance.
"You can accept it. If it really is related to Faeries, we have nothing to worry about." The black cat meowed. "We may even get something out of it."
"Alright, Rowan. I’ll join." Selina smiled.
"Good! Please give your info here." Rowan gave the goth girl’s a clipboard. "I’ll contact you later about the game."
Selina put the name and contacts in.
’Selina Isles and Mr. Mater’, she wrote. The pencil broke just as she finished.
"Huh! Weird..." 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
The goth girl and the black cat climbed on the motorcycle and drove off. They visited the cemetery first to collect the Abyssal Shrine.
Crow jumped out of the Dark Grimoire to visit Aaron Cage one last time.
The Abomination placed his dark hand on the stone coffin. "I didn’t know you for long. And you didn’t know me. But you taught me many things, Aaron. Don’t worry. I’ll finish what you’re left behind and I’ll avenge you."
Crow then turned to Mater, "We can go, Master."
The black cat nodded. It wagged its paw and pulled the Abyssal Shrine out of the tomb.
The Dark Grimoire appeared once again and transformed into the stone door. It engulfed the dark tree.
The Shrine grew larger when it entered the Floor of Darkness. It became the largest tree inside the floor. Its top connected to the white moon, acting as a bridge between the sky and the ground.
The negative energy concentrated into the tree and produced endless Nether power.
"You know what. This place is slowly starting to look like the Netherworld." The black cat meowed.
"May I have some adjustment, Master?" Crow said.
"Oh? This place is under your control, Crow. Of course, you can change it. What do you have in mind?" The black cat’s deep voice echoed.
"Dark wood is good. But I think it will be even better if it has a town in it."
Crow’s Nether leaked out as he used his Warden Mark. He was only a Rank-1 so shaping the Floor was a little bit out of his power.
"Let me help you there, Crow." Mater channeled his Chaos into the Abomination.
