Caught in Affairs with Superstar-Chapter 132 - 124: The Beginning of the Scandal
Chapter 132: Chapter 124: The Beginning of the Scandal
Gu Huaichun turned his head to look at her.
"What’s wrong?"
His turning away from the camera made his face invisible in the shot.
He immediately took this opportunity to threaten her with his eyes and mouthed the words, "Don’t play tricks."
Zhou Yun opened her arms and said coquettishly, "I can’t walk anymore."
A vein popped on Gu Huaichun’s forehead.
Silence.
Zhou Yun smiled brightly and said, "Will you carry me on your back?"
Her smile was innocent and radiant.
Because of that smile, Lu Yuan was about to call cut but then he stopped himself.
Zhou Yun continued to smile, and the message in her eyes was accurately conveyed to Gu Huaichun’s: Aren’t you the one who prides yourself on being a professional actor? The director hasn’t called cut; surely you can continue acting, right?
Gu Huaichun let out a cold laugh, and his demeanor naturally became warmer.
He walked up to Zhou Yun, turned around, crouched down, and with a face of helpless indulgence, he said, "Come on up."
Now it was Zhou Yun’s turn to struggle to move.
She thought Gu Huaichun wouldn’t continue, but he actually crouched down?
Zhou Yun certainly didn’t want to have any more physical closeness with Gu Huaichun.
"Hey, get up. I just wanted to see if you’d be willing to carry me." Zhou Yun crouched down to pull Gu Huaichun up by his arms and finally got back to the lines from the script, "Let’s go, have some ice cream."
...
After the scene was finished, Lu Yuan applauded and said, "You both improvised quite well in this scene, good job; it’s sweeter than the script."
Zhou Yun thought to herself, where was that sweet? She was just matching wits with Gu Huaichun.
Gu Huaichun said, "Director, Zhou Yun always deviates from the script, how can I continue acting?"
Damn, playing the victim first?
Zhou Yun retorted, "Weren’t you the first to deviate from the script when you touched my forehead?"
"That’s an added action to accentuate the closeness between the two characters."
"And the parts I added accentuate their closeness even more, don’t they?" Zhou Yun shot back.
Lu Yuan: "Alright, that’s enough. I’ve been meaning to address this issue too. If you have any thoughts about the scene, let me know in advance. Don’t just stray from the script. I’ll let it go this time, but not next time, okay?"
Zhou Yun and Gu Huaichun naturally agreed with the director.
They finished shooting the scene and moved to the next location.
Eating ice cream together, taking a stroll, and then at night there was a kiss scene that was very close to an actual kiss, thankfully there wasn’t one.
They continued shooting until ten at night before they wrapped up.
Zhou Yun got on the nanny van and headed back to the hotel.
Zheng Xiaojue excitedly said, "Eldest Sister Yun, you acted so well!"
Zhou Yun was not at all satisfied with her performance, "Acted well? How was it good?"
Zheng Xiaojue said, "It was beautiful, and, watching you act with Gu Huaichun was just like watching an idol drama."
Zhou Yun: "...Xiaoju, do you realize that what we are filming right now is actually an idol drama?"
Zheng Xiaojue blinked her innocent eyes and asked, "Really?"
Zhou Yun closed her eyes, not wanting to talk anymore.
"I’m so hungry."
Zheng Xiaojue said, "Ah, I bought a salad, do you want some now?"
Zhou Yun: "I want barbecue."
Zheng Xiaojue said, "You told me during filming you can’t eat that kind of stuff."
Zhou Yun: "Since when?"
Zheng Xiaojue said, "A week ago."
"What? Why would I say something like that? Am I crazy?"
Zhou Yun questioned this all the way back to the hotel, and finally ended up chewing on the grass.
Before sleeping, Zhou Lan sent a message, asking: How was the first day of shooting today?
Zhou Yun: Tired, and feeling powerless to complain.
Zhou Lan called soon after.
"What happened?"
Zhou Yun said, "I feel like this drama is going to be terrible."
"How so?"
Zhou Yun said, "I don’t understand what Director Lu really wants to make out of this film. All day long, it was like a fashion show, changing into seven or eight outfits, all just walking or spacing out. Only in the evening did we start filming the scenes with lines, and that’s another issue altogether. Gu Huaichun really drove me insane."
Zhou Lan said, "Don’t panic. This drama isn’t meant to be a serious genre in the first place. Lu Yuan wants to finish so many episodes within three months, it’s natural that he has to rush the schedule. You should be somewhat understanding. He had you change into seven or eight outfits probably to finish all the transitional scenes for the same setting, right?"
Zhou Yun said, "Yeah, but forget transitional scenes, for his filming, one scene is cut into several shots, and basically, he never lets us NG. As long as it’s passable, he approves it."
"This is filming a TV drama, not a movie. With so many scenes, as long as it’s not a major scene or too terribly acted, passing it in one or two takes is normal," Zhou Lan said. "Don’t set your expectations too high."
"My standards really aren’t high, but I genuinely feel so unsure, I have no idea if I’m acting well or not," Zhou Yun said. "I lack confidence."
"Just focus on doing well yourself," Zhou Lan said. "There are too many factors that can influence whether a drama is good or not. You just make sure your part isn’t the weak link."
"I feel like not dropping the ball is hard enough, under his direction. Today, I ended up raising my hands towards the sun and screaming in joy, right in the middle of a busy street, looking like an idiot."
Zhou Lan had nothing to say.
"Silly sweet girl?"
"That’s the idea."
"Then you’ll probably be criticized."
Zhou Yun said, "You finally understand."
Zhou Lan: "How about I go talk to President Huang later and see if we can cut that shot?"
"I hope it can be cut," Zhou Yun sighed. "I’m gonna stop talking now. I’m tired and have to get up early for filming tomorrow."
"Okay, you rest then."
"Oh right, Sister Lan," Zhou Yun suddenly remembered something.
"What is it?"
"Did you tell Song Chi about my argument with Gu Huaichun?"
"No, why would I tell Song Chi about that?" Zhou Lan said with confusion.
"Oh, then it’s nothing, I’m hanging up." freewёbnoνel-com
Zhou Yun thought, if it wasn’t Zhou Lan who told, then how could Song Chi know about the argument with Gu Huaichun?
Could it be that Song Chi had planted a mole in the crew?
Zhou Yun lay down on the bed, arms and legs stretched out, and as soon as she closed her eyes, the image of her looking up at the sun and cheering appeared in her mind, a sense of shame welling up.
She rolled around on the bed, wishing she could bury herself in a hole.
She had been reluctant to take this role initially, fearing she might end up acting like this. Who knew Lu Yuan actually preferred such taste?
Zhou Yun was torn about whether to have a chat with Lu Yuan to discuss her feelings.
She really hoped she wouldn’t have to overact like this in the future.
Thinking this, sleep gradually overtook her.
In the middle of the night, she was abruptly woken by a familiar, indescribable sound, along with a man’s heavy breathing.
Zhou Yun sat up in disbelief, staring at the wall, and thought, has Gu Huaichun gone mad? He’s not sleeping this late at night, does he plan to film tomorrow or not?
She picked up a pillow and threw it at the wall, grabbed her phone intending to find Gu Huaichun’s number to call him, then realized she didn’t have any contact information for Gu Huaichun at all.
