Caught in Affairs with Superstar-Chapter 137 - 126: The Beginning of the Scandal
Chapter 137: Chapter 126: The Beginning of the Scandal
Zhou Yun slept until ten in the morning before she woke up.
Fortunately, she was awakened by the alarm clock. She feared the day when an alarm couldn’t wake her up.
After hastily washing up, she went to the film set for makeup, barefaced.
On the car ride over, Zheng Xiaojue said: "Sister Xiao Yun, why are you heading there so early? The call sheet says your scenes aren’t until the afternoon."
Zhou Yun replied: "Either way, I would just be waiting around in the hotel."
Going to the set early made Zhou Yun happy; she could get ready early and even rehearse scenes with others.
After working with Gu Huaichun for these past few days, though still not getting along, they tacitly agreed to a unified front.
That ’front’ referred to Lu Yuan.
Lu Yuan’s directing was like treating them like elementary students; shot after shot, as long as there weren’t any major mistakes, it was a pass.
Zhou Yun had no choice but to put in extra effort and set higher standards for herself.
Coincidentally, Gu Huaichun shared the same sentiment.
On the first day, the two of them didn’t get along, improvising beyond the script as they performed, but the results turned out to be better than what was written.
Both of them were aware of this, so for the time being, they put their prejudices aside and took the opportunity to voice their ideas while speaking with the director.
Once Zhou Yun arrived on set, she immediately greeted the director.
Lu Yuan saw her and, surprised, asked, "Why have you come so early?"
Lu Yuan had not expected Zhou Yun to come so early.
"Coming early to prepare, and to mooch off the crew’s boxed lunch," Zhou Yun said with a laugh.
Today’s scenes were being shot on an indoor set.
Gu Huaichun had drunk alcohol yesterday and got up early today; when Zhou Yun saw him, his eyes lacked their usual sparkle.
As per usual, the two didn’t greet each other, acting as if the other didn’t exist.
"Xiao Yun is here," Yin Zhou followed soon after, as sunny as ever.
He was brimming with energy, showing no signs of having drunk even more than Gu Huaichun the night before.
Zhou Yun, surprised, said, "Where did you buy your hangover soup? It seems pretty effective."
Yin Zhou laughed heartily.
Gu Huaichun suddenly turned and gave him a cold glance, seemingly annoyed by Yin Zhou’s loud laughter disrupting him.
The director briefed them about the next shot he was intending to film, and indeed, it was the same as before, filming one shot after another.
Zhou Yun sat behind the monitor, watching the screen alongside the director.
Gu Huaichun and Yin Zhou, both graduates from professional acting schools, performed their run-through smoothly, communicating briefly before completing it in one take. Of course, Lu Yuan’s standard for a one-take pass was just that—sufficiently easy to achieve. The two of them acted naturally together, especially Gu Huaichun, who despite being quite arrogant, possessed a natural charisma in his acting, be it through dialogue or eye contact.
Similar to most sweet romance drama male leads, Gu Huaichun also played a character who is usually cold and speaks little.
Yin Zhou played the second male lead who is emotional and talkative.
In nine out of ten sweet romance dramas, the pairing of the first and second male leads tends to be like this.
In Zhou Yun’s opinion, the scene they had just performed could have been done even better. But Lu Yuan felt it was enough, passable for airing, so once it was over, it was over.
Zhou Yun couldn’t help but feel uneasy about her own performance in this drama.
She didn’t know what effect her previous performances had achieved.
By noon, Zhou Yun went to eat first. Since shooting was in a studio, a small cafeteria had been specially set up. Zhou Yun got her meal and sat at the end of a long table. This cafeteria was specifically for the main creative staff; ordinary crew members and actors didn’t eat here. Currently, most of the creative team was still busy shooting, leaving Zhou Yun alone at the table.
A little while later, Gu Huaichun suddenly showed up.
He froze for a moment when he saw Zhou Yun, seemingly not expecting to find her there.
Zhou Yun hadn’t expected Gu Huaichun to come over by himself either.
Zhou Yun wondered if Gu Huaichun would turn around and leave.
With Gu Huaichun’s usual character, it wouldn’t be out of character for him to do so.
But contrary to her expectations, after a moment of struggle in his expression, Gu Huaichun still went to get his food and sat down to eat, just far away from her, obviously intentional.
He made it clear he didn’t want to interact with her, so naturally, she didn’t bother with him either.
The scene looked oddly peculiar.
The lead actor and actress of the drama crew sitting at the same table eating, yet ignoring each other, so quiet as if they were strangers.
Passing crew members saw this scene and weren’t surprised.
Even though no one spoke openly about it, they all basically understood that their lead actor and actress did not get along.
The silence lingered for a long time.
