CEO Ex-Husband, Don't Bother Me-Chapter 16: Moving Out (2)
"Okay, but please be safe!"
Naomi Shaw followed a sulking Tyson to his room. She knocked, but he refused to open the door, leaving her feeling dejected. Tyson was an orphan Ian Shaw had adopted after he brought her to Thailos. They had grown up together, and he was both an older brother figure and her personal bodyguard.
’He had doted on her since they were children. As they grew older, she gradually became aware of his feelings for her. But unfortunately, she had only ever seen him as a brother. She’d never brought it up, not wanting to make things awkward between them. Now, it seemed, she had no choice but to make things clear.’
She suddenly recalled the moment that morning when Julian Donovan had been so frank with her as he saw her off. ’It turned out that being honest was so easy for the one who didn’t love, but for the one who loved so deeply, it was incredibly cruel.’ Today, she was finally on the other side—the one who wasn’t in love—and could truly feel the pain of that unrequited devotion.
Tyson still refused to open the door, so she had no choice but to speak from the hallway.
"Tyson, since you won’t open the door, I’ll just have to say it out here!"
Tyson’s furious roar came from inside the room.
"I’m not listening! I’m not listening! I’m not listening! Just go! Go away...!"
’How could he not know what she was going to say? But he was deluding himself, choosing not to listen. He foolishly believed that if he didn’t hear it, it wouldn’t be real.’
"Tyson!"
Naomi Shaw sighed in frustration. The door was suddenly flung open from the inside, and Tyson stumbled out, reeking of alcohol. She was a mix of anger and concern.
"Tyson, you’re injured! How could you drink so much?!"
Tyson, his eyes bloodshot, roared at her.
"Do you even see me anymore? Or is Julian Donovan the only one you see, the only one you care about?"
Tyson had never, in her entire life, been so harsh with her. Naomi Shaw felt a surge of indignation.
"Tyson, of course I care about you. It’s just that..."
Before she could finish, Tyson suddenly pulled her into his arms, murmuring painfully in her ear.
"Don’t say it! Don’t say anything, just listen to me, okay?"
Naomi Shaw struggled to break free, but he was a burly man, and his strength was overwhelming. She could only remain trapped in his embrace, forced to listen to his desperate pleas.
"Naomi, please be with me."
"I know I’m all brawn and no brains. I can’t be the one to lead The Shaw Dominion, but I don’t care! I never wanted it anyway!"
Tyson was overcome with emotion. This was, after all these years, the first time he had truly confessed his feelings to her.
"I just want you! As long as you’re with me, I don’t care if Julian Donovan gets everything else!"
Tyson’s words were sincere and filled with deep affection, but Naomi Shaw could only reply with,
"Tyson, I’m sorry..."
Tyson abruptly released her, gripping her slender shoulders and shaking her. His eyes were filled with anguish.
"What’s so great about Julian Donovan? Are all my years of feelings for you worth less than a man who’s only been around for a few days? Besides, he doesn’t even love you!"
Naomi Shaw lowered her gaze and said softly,
"I’m not asking him to love me back. It’s enough for me to just love him quietly..."
