CEO Vengeful Wife-Chapter 205: Lang Lan Predicament

"It is true." Lang Lan said, taking a sip of her tea. Her expressions were fairly complacent. A subtle flare of malevolence glared across her eyes before expressions of warmth and concern sheltered her inner thoughts. 

Heng Huizhong paced up and down the lounge. He appeared to be caught up in a state of inner conflict. "Just when the things finally started to run smoothly, you had to come with such news..." He grudgingly said.

Lang Lan winced at the bitterness in his tone. Her mood dampened. In the past, Heng Huizhong had always adored her. Whenever something went against them, he would never blame her. Even if she was clearly involved, she would be exempted from all the blames. Instead, he would hold her hand and reassure her lovingly that things would get better.

If they ever fought, such occurrences were a few and far between, to begin with, he would be the one that will come to her and present her with precious gifts to pacify her in the end.

However, recently there had been a gradual change in his attitude towards her. If she even did as much as say a few sullen words, Heng Huizhong would pick up on her. If she didn't immediately apologize and relented, it would always end up with him blowing into a rage. Afterward, he would not talk to her for several days let alone come back to pacify her with precious gifts.

And who was to blame for this situation? That Bingwen bastard and his vixen mother, Xu Baozhai! 

Whenever Lang Lan recalled how that bastard exposed those biased contracts her family had signed, she felt hot anger surging through her heart.

When Heng Huizahong was made aware of those contracts, he had directly confronted Lang Lan with a look of betrayal. Thankfully, Lang Lan was fast. With her slick tongue and sweet words, Lang Lan had managed to shift the blame on her family. However, after that incident, Heng Huizhong and the Lang family had fallen.

She consoled herself with the thought that at least, she had resolved the hard feelings among them... or so she thought.

Unbeknownst to her, a crack of suspicion had already appeared on their wall of trust. Things would never be the same after that contract revelation.

However, Lang Lan's resentful heart could not fathom this. After much thought, with her spiteful personality, she had reached a conclusion that Heng Bingwen and Xu Baozhai had been conspiring behind her back and purposely turning Heng Huizhong against her.

That must be the reason behind Heng Huizhong's change.

That vixen Xu Baozhai wanted to get back the position of the Mistress of the Heng household?! She could dream on! Lang Lan would never let her realize her dreams!

Though these malevolent plots continuously emerged in her heart, upon her face, there was always a gentle expression. "Dear Husband, I understand your concerns. In fact, the time Lang Yufan told me that Jing Lihua intends to betray the 'Li' Empire, I was shaken. After Husband said that Heng Bingwen was not acting as Jing Lihua

pawn, and she meant us no harm I believed in him. My heart was at peace. But after Lang Yufan came with this news...I hadn't been able to get a night of peaceful sleep. I didn't want to burden you but Husband must take the right steps at the appropriate time. Or it might be too late..." said Lang Lan regretfully. "After all Father-in-law would never be able to rest in peace if we fail to protect what he entrusted to us." Using Elder Heng's name, Lang Lan struck the right nerve.

She knew how to manipulate her husband.

"Through her schemes and acuteness, I had actually been moved. I started believing this Jing Lihua was actually someone to look up to. But who knew she would be so dense to actually go against President Li?" Heng Huizhong could not bring himself to believe this. Maybe because in the past he realized she was related to him by blood, he started to unconsciously trust her.

However, right now he gravely regretted his decision.

Why did it matter to Heng Huizhong if Jing Lihua betrayed that fearsome President Li?

It mattered because the Li family is known for their ruthlessness. President Li is not called 'Devil' for no reason. If someone betrays them, they can say goodbye to their fame, fortune, and reputation.

Since Jing Lihua intended to betray him, she, as a major shareholder of the Heng Limited Software, as well as the superior of Heng Bingwen, would also bring the Heng family down once President Li took action.

That Devil was known for not sparing a single underling of his enemies. After Heng Huizhong put an end to his strifes and Heng Bingwen took hold of the company, they could be considered as Jing Lihua underlings. It was given that once she takes steps against President Li, they all would go down. 

"I was wrong. No, I must not let things reach this point."

Lang Lan observed everything. She was very excited to see how the things were developing. "Husband, the only solution out of this situation is that we break out our alliance with Jing Lihua," suggested Lang Lan.

After all, Jing Lihua was Heng Bingwen's backer. If everything continued as it was now, in the future her son Heng Fu would be unable to hold onto the supreme position. If that happened, and Heng Huizahong had a change of heart and decided to get back with that vixen, where was Lang Lan supposed to go?

"You are right," said Heng Huizhong pensively.

They needed to stand against Jing Lihua. They needed to show others that they were not her underlings. So that, in the future when President Li tyranny showers, they could be exempted for being her foes. 

That was what in Heng Huizhong's mind.

"Actually, Lang Yufan has always been very thoughtful. He has already come up with a solution." Lang Lan acutely put forth her words. "He had already arranged for a meeting with the 'Su' family."

Lang Lan said only a few words and Heng Huizhong understood everything. After that divorce, things

were rather heated among those two powers. 

If the Heng family followed Su family, they would no longer be considered as Jing Lihua underlings.

Under normal circumstances, Heng Huizhong would have scolded Lang Lan for taking such steps without his knowledge. But things were quite severe now. So instead, he felt a sense of gratitude towards her and the Lang family.

'Who knew things would come to this? I should apologize to her and the Lang family for treating them harshly in the past.'

However, before he could begin to take action after that thought, his phone rang loudly.
