Chapter 41: Chapter 41: Dominic Thorne, My Senior

At that moment, Dominic Thorne was sleeping soundly. He was startled by his phone’s ringtone and answered it, annoyed.

"Who is it?!"

"It’s me, Summer Lancaster. Kenneth wants you to come to my place right now." Summer said this knowing Dominic was terrified of Kenneth.

"Ah, I’ll be there in a bit." As grumpy as Dominic Thorne was when he first woke up, he wouldn’t dare disobey his boss’s orders.

Dominic Thorne habitually fumbled for his clothes on the other side of the bed, but his hand brushed against someone’s arm. He snatched his hand back in shock and looked over at the person.

BOOM! It was like a bomb went off in his head. He started to search his memory for what happened last night...

He had been a bit drunk himself last night while holding Melody Donovan. Melody, on the other hand, was dead drunk and couldn’t tell him her address. Dominic had no choice but to bring her to his place. After putting her on the bed, he went to take a shower. When he came out, he heard Melody muttering in her sleep. Dominic leaned in closer and realized she kept saying, "Senior... senior..."

’Heh, this girl,’ Dominic thought. ’She looks like she graduated a few years ago, yet she’s still so innocent.’

Just as Dominic was about to leave, Melody suddenly grabbed his hand.

"Don’t go!" Her expression was pained. Dominic tried to pull his hand away, but she only gripped it tighter.

"Dominic Thorne, don’t go." Dominic froze. ’For someone I’ve only met once, would she really be calling my name in her dreams? Did she fall for me at first sight?’ The corners of Dominic’s lips curved up. ’Looks like my charm hasn’t faded one bit.’ He gazed at her flushed face, a hot current seeming to surge through him, and he swallowed hard.

Her lips were slightly parted, exuding a subtle sexiness. He lowered himself onto her. Feeling the weight, she opened her eyes in displeasure.

"Melody, do you know who I am?"

"Dominic Thorne, of course. My senior. Did you know? I’ve liked you for so, so many years." She laughed as she spoke. "You never noticed me, and I was always so disappointed."

Dominic remembered. Back in college, he used to play basketball every afternoon. He’d always see a girl with a ponytail on the sidelines, watching him intently. But whenever he looked her way, she would quickly avert her gaze. He never imagined that the same girl would blossom into such a graceful beauty, or that she would still like him after all this time.

He couldn’t control himself any longer and kissed Melody fiercely. Her lips were like honey, silky and sweet, and he kissed her again and again, as if addicted.

The night passed. Sober now, he was still the same old playboy, Dominic Thorne. Melody was just another fleeting person passing through his life. That’s right. He hadn’t thought about a future...

Dominic Thorne got dressed, left a change of clothes for her on the bed, and headed out.

"You took long enough," Summer complained.

"Summer, have you even looked at the time?" he said, pointing to the watch on his wrist.

"Get in here. You’re taking Kenneth to the office in a bit."

"Me?" Dominic pointed at himself in disbelief. "Why? Can’t the great President of the Yates Group call a driver to pick him up?" ’If I’d known this was what it was about, I wouldn’t have come.’

"You talk too much," Kenneth said, walking out with a cup of coffee. The moment Dominic saw him, he clammed up and sat on the sofa, pouting sullenly.

Once Kenneth finished getting ready, they headed to the Yates Group together. A question formed in Dominic’s mind as he drove. ’Summer doesn’t look sick, so why isn’t she taking him?’

"Summer isn’t feeling well," Kenneth said. "And I can tell what you’re thinking just by looking at you."

"Hehe, you’re the boss, all right. But Boss, it’s not like you’re some kind of monk. Couldn’t you have held back a little? You’ll wear Summer out."

"Dominic Thorne."

"Hm?"

"This is a nice car."

"Boss, that’s daylight robbery!" Dominic wrapped his hands protectively around the steering wheel in fear. This car was his absolute favorite—a global limited edition.

"If you don’t want your car to end up in the shop, then shut your mouth."

"Yes, sir!" Dominic had to protect his precious car.
