CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 178: Distress Signal

The absence of Amy and Henry from Welsh Holdings Inc. and Bellory Inc. made everyone busy even though they did some advance work before they went on their honeymoon. The people left in the office even went to work that Saturday to just make sure that everything is running smoothly before their CEOs return.

"You seem happy working on a weekend, Mary," Sandra speculated after noticing Mary hum every now and then.

"You are right and wrong. I am happy but not because of work. I am excited to be a godmother!" Mary exclaimed with utter excitement as she clasp both her hands.

Sandra got confused and frowned, "Is Amy pregnant? I thought they turn off their phones. How come she informed you and not us?"

Mary laughed at how Sandra pouted at her. The sisters always tell her how jealous they are, whenever she gets to know first about the most important news about Amy. They are blood-related to Amy and Mary is not.

But their jealousy does not really last that long, they treat each other like family anyways and the most important thing is that there are no hard feelings after.

"Yes, their phones are still off and she’s not yet pregnant, I think. Or maybe not? Well, it was just my wishful thinking. Now that they are married, I wish for them to have a lot of kids so we all can be their aunts and godmothers!" Mary and Sandra chuckled and agreed that Mary is right.

The three of them, including Maya, want to see a couple of little Amys and little Henrys running around soon. The two chatted for quite some time about what will they do for their future nieces or nephews when Ava entered the room.

"Has any of you been contacted by Amy or Henry? Or perhaps received a message from them?" Ava looked back and forth between Mary and Sandra with conspicuous panic on her face.

"No, we were actually waiting for Amy’s call. She said she will call me as soon as she gets back. They are supposed to be on their way here by now right?" Mary uttered.

"No, they are not. They are missing. Rei said the control tower lost contact with their plane. Their phones are off. The resort’s management said they left there with no problem at all and Henry even requested for an engineer to double-check their plane before leaving." Ava reported with a shaky voice.

"Lost contact? What do you mean by lost contact? They have one of the most advanced jets there is. It even has a safe return feature and parachute for the jet itself!" Sandra barked impatiently. She knows that Ava is not telling them everything, she’s still part of Amy’s security team and they have a protocol to follow.

"I only know that much as well. Thanks for answering my question. I will update you once I get more info," Ava then turned around and left Mary and Sandra.

However, Mary and Sandra did not believe her and they will not let her go until she tells them everything. The two grabbed each of Ava’s arms to stop her from walking away.

"Woah, not so fast, Ava. We all know that you know something and you are not telling us. What are you hiding? Spill it now!" Mary hissed at Ava and if only stare can burn, Ava would be on fire now at how intensely Mary and Sandra are glaring at her.

"Alright, alright. Let go of me first, I will tell you. But promise me that you will stay here until I come back with more news. Rei will kill me. Promise me first!" Ava exclaimed.

"Promise."

"We promise."

Mary and Sandra said in unison.

"Henry was able to send a distress signal before losing contact with the control tower. However, the call got disconnected before he can even say their exact coordinates. The control tower was informed by Henry that he was having problems with his navigation system before totally losing control of the plane–" Ava wasn’t able to finish her sentence for Mary collapsed on the ground while still holding Sandra’s hand.

Her butt definitely hit the floor hard but the bad news was overwhelming that she did not feel any pain at all. Her hands and feet were shaking, her knees felt weak, and her eyes welled up with tears threatening to fall at any moment.

Before Ava and Sandra can pick Mary up, the door opened once more. Sandra can no longer hold her tears when she saw Rei’s disheveled hair and worried eyes. She knew automatically that it was not a simple loss of communication.

Her cousin and cousin-in-law are really missing. Sandra let go of Mary’s hand and ran to Rei. She wept in his arms as soon as she felt his embrace.

"What the heck is going on?" Maya arrived with Theo with paper bags in their hands. They went out to buy lunch for everyone, only to see her sister and Mary crying as if someone died.

Maya placed the food on the nearest table and when no one was answering her question, she asked again. "Why are they crying? Did someone die?" Maya jested.

"Maya!"

"Maya!"

Mary and Sandra yelled and that startled Maya, she felt annoyed since she is clueless about what was going on and yet she was rebuked.

Ava walked closer to her and said, "Henry and Amy together with their plane are missing. They were having a plane issue before the control tower lost them."

Her jaw dropped, "OH MY GOD!" Maya groaned before covering her mouth with both hands. Soon she joined the others in wailing.

"Girls calm down. We are not sure what happened yet. They could be fine. There were no reported explosions on their route. The search and rescue team was already sent out. Let’s go to Anton’s office, they are dealing with the matter there." Rei said and everyone in the room stood on their feet to go to the CEO’s floor.

The three ladies stopped crying but they can still feel their bodies shake at the thought of something bad might have happened to Amy and Henry.
