CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 8: Change the Dress

"Tonight’s my mother’s birthday, we’re hosting a dinner at home, and we’ve invited quite a few people," Bright Sampson quickly replied, then casually asked, "Is the brother-in-law coming along?"

As soon as Bright Sampson asked the question, his arm received a pinch from Jane Sampson, painful enough to contort his face.

Bright Sampson turned his head in confusion to glance at Jane Sampson, only to see her silently mouthing something to him. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

"You have a smart mouth?"

After deciphering Jane Sampson’s message, Bright Sampson was bewildered for a moment before it dawned on him that his sister wasn’t planning on, nor did she want, her brother-in-law to accompany her back.

"Wait for me a while, I’m going to take a bath and change clothes," James Black dropped the words decisively and turned to enter the room.

Not knowing or not remembering was one thing, but now that he was back and aware of his mother-in-law’s birthday, as a son-in-law, James Black naturally had to fulfill the proper etiquette.

Seeing James Black enter the room, Jane Sampson’s shoulders slumped, but she let out her breath too soon, because a few seconds later, James Black was back at the doorway, looking at Jane Sampson’s back.

James Black realized it wasn’t just his imagination, Jane Sampson’s dress didn’t only have a thigh-high slit, but her entire back was nearly bare, with only a layer of thin gauze subtly revealing her jade-like skin.

"Jane Sampson, come in and change that dress."

Again, he called her by her full name, and again he spoke in a commanding tone.

"I’m not changing!"

Jane Sampson’s heart was filled with a hundred refusals. She was always easy to talk to when asked to change clothes, but not today; today, she had to wear this particular dress!

Hearing Jane Sampson’s crisp refusal, Bright Sampson gave her a thumbs up. My god, indeed she’s the one who married James Black; she’s got a different kind of courage.

However, Bright Sampson also noticed that his sister’s style of dress was different today. Before, Jane Sampson would never wear such brightly colored and sexy clothes. Most of the clothes in Jane Sampson’s wardrobe were quite conservative, including the formal dresses for special occasions.

Honestly, Jane Sampson was very beautiful, with delicate features and skin so lovely it could make people envious. Coupled with her naturally splendid figure, her wearing such a dress today even made Bright Sampson feel dazzled. His sister was finally no longer a blandly dressed woman.

James Black’s eyebrows twisted as he walked out, carried Jane Sampson like a sack into the bedroom, and slammed the door shut. He placed her on the bed, pulled out a white formal dress from the wardrobe, and tossed it at Jane Sampson, "Put it on."

Having said that, he then headed to the bathroom attached to the bedroom to take a bath.

Jane Sampson laid on the bed, flustered and pounding the mattress with frustration.

Looking at the dress originally intended for today’s wear now lying on top of her, Jane Sampson bit her lip and rolled the pricey dress into a ball, stuffing it under the bed. Listening to the running water from the bathroom, she quickly grabbed her makeup bag and sneaked out of the bedroom.

"Bright, let’s go quickly go downstairs and wait for him," Jane Sampson whispered to Bright Sampson, who was already sitting in the living room playing games. She grabbed her two purses and shoes in one hand and Bright Sampson’s collar in the other and raced outside.

"Sis! Let go! Let go! I’m dying! I’m dying!" Bright Sampson yelped, still fixated on the game character on his mobile phone screen, only to get a kick from Jane Sampson, forcibly quieting his protests.
