The defeat of Mang Jian—the Blind Executioner of the 100 Zanpakuto School—worth 1.8 billion berry—was not only a statement, but also a testament.
Unlike Black Ghost, Mang Jian didn’t fall under Timeline’s wrath.
He had fallen at Kai’s hands, with no foreign involvement.
As if that wasn’t enough, even before losing to Kai, Mang Jian had acknowledged the enemy to be stronger than himself.
At their levels, no words that came out of their mouths were useless.
Before unleashing Absolute Path Dominion, sacrificing all the Reiatsu that the Blind Executioner had held, he had said Red was blocking his view of the Peak.
And how could Kai have ever done that if... he wasn’t already standing between Mang Jian and the Peak of Absolute Power?
Things became even more ridiculous when one remembered the fact that, unlike Black Ghost, whose power was sealed to the 9th Floor, Mang Jian’s actual strength lingered between the 10th and 11th Floors instead.
In stark contrast, Red was still a Top-level 9th Floor Contestant... technically.
So, the moment the Order of Immortal Lotus released the footage, all winds stalled in the Primordial Tower, the Storm coming to an end.
Not much was discernible from the footage itself.
The Blind Domain had turned the entire scene black, making it impossible to know how Red survived Mang Jian’s Bankai. After its destruction, its lingering effects and spatial distortions made it impossible to discern any scene, even for the most proficient experts.
The only scenes that were clearly visible to all were the Reiatsu clash in the beginning, the battle leading to Bankai, which also included Red’s use of Conqueror’s Haki, and a scene in the end, showing Mang Jian lying on the ground with a broken sword at his feet.
Those were the only scenes that mattered.
Because they weren’t just scenes, but a declaration —
— Red deserved every single berry of his 2.3 billion berry bounty!
And the consequences of this declaration reached far and wide, turning fates... for better or worse.
...
Chaos’ Valley,
The Primordial Tower
Durga, the Top-level 15th Floor Contestant and the leader of Flowers of Doom, was a strong woman.
She was 8 ft tall, had grayish skin, and long, wild black hair.
Her eyes were black without pupils, and there was a slit on her forehead, marked by a fiery redness, threatening to burn the world.
She didn’t like to wear many clothes.
However, presently, she was wearing a bra and a skirt made of dragon skin.
"Are you sure he didn’t use Rabbit’s Foot, Cash?" she asked, staring at the System’s window where a blur stood.
Cash was the 12th Floor powerhouse the Flowers of Doom had sent to the Harry Potter timeline that was experiencing the anomaly to take care of the Supreme Protector... who turned out to be the Five Crowned Prince.
And, learning of the matter of Mang Jian, Durga found it hard to say if she had sent a flower to unleash doom or... to her doom.
[Mang Jian never used any Item other than his sword, Durga.] Cash replied brusquely through the Primordial Tower Trade Market. [Nor will I...]
Rage exploded out of Durga as she clenched her teeth, her Haki taking the form of a searing heat.
It was not because of Cash calling her by name, though.
The Flowers of Doom followed a unique structure, where all the female Contestants were encouraged never to submit, neither to their peers nor to their superiors. Calling even the leader of the organization by her name was only one of such oddities of this clique.
"Have you lost your sanity in love?!" Durga’s words burned across the space. "That blind fool never loved you..."
[Please mind your business.]
"..." Durga chewed her lips, remembering the little girl she had met hundreds of years ago. "Then... Die!"
With a thought, she cut off the link, falling back to her throne in anger and helplessness.
Cash held the highest bounty among her peers. However, among the upper echelons above the 4th Set, it was common knowledge that the Blind Executioner possessed the greatest strength.
Everything’s going to change now... Durga confirmed, her eyes gaining a hard look. All metrics are going to lose their value... All records will be upended once... once Red ascends to the 4th Set...
"... And to think that the 100 Zanpakuto School closed all its gates..." she mumbled, remembering the event that occurred right after the matter of Mang Jian’s defeat became public. "What am I missing..." 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
The 100 Zanpakuto School was so named because of the Organization’s 100 Executioners.
The School hadn’t failed to avenge even one death ever since its conception millions of years ago.
For Atlas, the leader of the 100 Zanpakuto School, to not even release a statement against Red...
Something’s happening, Durga thought as she stood up. I must... talk to the Purple King.
...
Order’s Peak,
The Primordial Tower
Blue Swirl, a Top-level 15th Floor Contestant and the leader of Spiral Cascade, coughed up blood.
"Stop it!" Betty Shaw shouted, holding the old man in his arms. "You coward!"
They were surrounded by a great mass of Contestants on the 12th Floor, whose faces held mockery, jeers, and an inflated sense of justice most of all.
In front of the two men, an armored knight was standing, holding nothing but a scroll.
"This is Empire’s Decree," the knight declared, his voice booming across the space. "And it is only meant for you, Betty Shaw."
The Glitched Contestant ground his teeth and stood up.
"No..." Blue Swirl grabbed his successor’s hand. His Stats were heavily restricted because of his descent to three floors below his own. Against the Empire’s Decree, he might as well be powerless. "No. You can’t..."
Betty Shaw looked at the old man and... smiled.
Slowly, he walked forward, eyeing everyone who used to worship him only weeks before.
"Kneel!" the Knight thundered.
Betty Shaw took a deep breath and knelt.
"As a prized citizen of the Stormborn Empire," the Knight began, reading the scroll’s content, "you were expected to uphold the Empire’s prestige. Yet, despite being a Glitched Contestant, not only did you lose to a Chaos’ Contestant, but you also lost to one who hasn’t even ascended to the 4th Set, bringing nothing but shame to the Empire’s name.
"Not all defeats are punishable. But by returning to the Tower without killing Red, you have humiliated not only your peers but also the Empire. For that, you must face the consequences.
"I, Brienne Stormborn, the Empress of the Stormborn Empire, deem you unworthy of having a Glitch."
Betty Shaw’s eyes widened, his head snapping up.
With a brilliant, golden flash, the scroll the knight carried in his hands became motes of light, taking the form of a spear.
CRACK!
Golden bolts of lightning snaked out of the spear, making all eyes roll back in their heads.
Then, with a crackling BOOM, the spear shot forward, tracing a golden streak through Betty Shaw’s heart.
Instantly, a giant image of a Video Camera appeared behind him before...
... it shattered into millions of pieces, erasing the Glitch out of existence!
