Chapter 237: Hanging out - I

Evelyn hummed and placed the food in front of her daughter before going back to the pan on the stove and taking a helping for herself. Keeping a plate on the other Side of her daughter’s highchair, Evelyn settled down into a chair before digging into her food.

"I like this," Arabella raised her hand and in between her fingers were her favourite jam that she was rubbing before she put the fingers in her mouth. "What is this?"

"Jam," Evelyn answered her question, "do you know there are different flavours of jam?"

Arabella visibly brightened up at the information. "Really? Can I have them?"

Evelyn held in the smile. Apparently her daughter was in love with home-made jam. " Yes, you can have them. What flavour would you like? Mango, orange, blueberry?"

"All of them!"

The liking might be a little obsessive but for now Evelyn let it go. "Okay," she nodded, " we can try the blueberry one first, okay?"

After she had received a note of agreement from her daughter both of them ate their breakfast silently. Salvatore could not join them but he still had made sure, like a dutiful father, to be there when his daughter woke up at excuse his presence in front of her.

That had been extremely an expected because she was sure that neither in her family nor in his, had their fathers ever excuse their presence. If they wanted to leave in the morning for some work, they did.

Maybe because of that Arabella was accepting in Salvador as her father and her trust was building to words him keeping his word coming back to her.

At the moment they were on their way to the mall just like they had been previously but this time Bella Rosa and her daughter were not accompanying her. The only person that was going to be there one hour later was going to be Alexis.

The sudden planning of going to the mall came to her mind when she was looking at her daughter’s clothes and realised that the toddler had definitely grown. Looking over to the baby who was humming a tune while being strapped the booster seat, she felt like Arabella was sooking in all the love and affection and growing up quickly because of it.

"Can I buy another toy?" Her daughter quickly asked when she looked at the familiar toy story that they were passing.

"Nope," Evelyn popped the p and tapped her daughter’s nose, "you have enough toys at home. You can buy two next month."

"When is the next month?"

"In about 15 days or so," evelyn entered the show room I was immediately greeted by the racks of clothes bought to her by several employees.

"do you like this one?" She held out a cotton T-shirt to her child who looked at it questionably.

"No," bella shook her head, "pink pretty?"

Evelyn gave a tired sigh. Maybe she should have left Arabella with her nanny and come to the mall alone. It was going to be difficult to shop with her when all her daughter wanted was princess dresses In the colour pink.

"Hey!"

Evelyn turned around to get the familiar voice and end time to hear and see the gaggle of giggles from her daughter after she had been picked up by her grandmother.

Alexis tickled Arabella before kissing her with a loud smooching sound on the cheek. "How are you, little baby?"

The toddler did not answer the question as she calmed down from the adventurous giggling and took in deep breaths but the smile did not leave her face making Evelyn happy.

If there was one person that she could trust the responsibility of Arabella with, it was definitely Alexis.

She appeared to be the only sane one in the midst of people that were crazy.

"Hey," Alexis winked and glanced at her hands, "I know it is difficult to shop with children. So, if you want I can take care of Arabella until you give me a call?"

Even though she felt guilty for even thinking of sending her child away with Alexis, Evelyn had to shop and Arabella was never going to said still.

So if her daughter has the option of no longer wearing thrifted clothes but branded ones, Evelyn was going to take it.

"Please," Evelyn winced, "she grew out of her clothes quickly than I realised and I need to buy her some for casual basis."

"Don’t worry," Alexis settled Arabella on her side, "give me a call when you’re ready." Without a word, Alexis turned around and left with her daughter happily waving at her.

Happy that Alexis was trusted by her and Arabella, Evelyn turned around to look through the clothes for her growing toddler.

She had no idea how long it had taken her until she was done and had finally placed the clothes on the counter for the billing. Even the cashier took some time before handing her the bill.

The guards had picked up all the bags and two of them left with all of them so that they could be kept in the car.

She pulled out her phone from the back and was ready to call Alexis when she felt A force being knocked into her and then a male yell.

Turning around after stumbling to get some balance she saw a man being pushed to the ground by one of her guards.

"Fuck, what the hell?!?" The man yelled in return and Evelyn recognised the voice.

"let him go," she whispered to the guard, mindful of the sudden attention they were getting, "I know him."

The guard wordlessly got up, the moment the man underneath him turned his face to Evelyn she knew that she knew him.

"Matt," she frowned, "do you need to learn how to walk again and not bump into people?"

"Funny," he chuckled sarcastically before getting off the floor and brushing his pants. After that, his facial expressions changed as he was no longer on the floor. "Nice to see you here. Do you want to hang out?"
