Chapter 245: A happy family- I

Evelyn halted.

The warm blush overtook her face furiously and did not stop for even a second as she tried to catch her breath.

Salvatore turned around when he sensed that she was not moving and watched her over the lazy smirk over his lips. He definitely knew what he was doing.

"Urm... uh," she gulped, " Car?"

He nodded and watched her dart past him and into the direction of the vehicle that they had come in.

This time Salvatore let her do what she wanted. But the next time was going to be different.

She had seemingly sobered down from the alcohol that she had consumed earlier. And by that he meant that she was now dozing off with her face squished against the window of the car.

Evelyn looked mighty uncomfortable and the car was moving at a low pace because of her. With a sigh, Salvatore reached over and carefully adjusted her so that she was now laying on his lap before he signaled to the driver to hurry up.

Slowly, he waved his fingers through the thick luscious locks that had somehow lost its lustre.

It was obvious that she had not taken care of herself even with the amount of millions piled into her account. Evelyn had taken it seriously to run away from him even though he was just there.

The car entered the grounds of the estate and rose to a stop in front of the entrance. He exited first and held her into his arms before taking her inside. As much as he wanted to end this date on a different note, now he would be sleeping with her.

He huffed in irritation as the butler opened the door to her room.

For a moment, his eyebrows shot up at the mess in front of him. Dresses and shoes were thrown across the room and if that was not enough the dressing table was fucking cluttered with make up and jewellery.

Was it even safe to sleep here?

Salvatore turned to look at Marco who in return give a helpless shrug, "I can have it cleaned in minutes."

He could have it cleaned in minutes, for sure, but was he supposed to sit with Evelyn in his arms? He could not obviously let her stay in a room like this and this was something he was going to talk to her about tomorrow morning.

"get it cleaned, she’ll be sleeping in my room." He nodded before Marco stepped out of the room and opened the door to his.

As a saboteur let her on the bed, could not help but think about how anxious she must’ve been about the date. With that mess inside her room, Evelyn must’ve taken the entire day to choose what you want to wear.

He took off her shoes and then her jewellery. There was no way he could survive taking off her clothes on his own. So she had to sleep in them.

After changing himself and pulling on a lower, Salvatore slipped into the other side of the bed before turning the lights off.

Evelyn felt the headache even before she woke up. It was a dull yet familiar pain but she could not think of the reason why she was having it.

"Fuck," she cursed. There was nothing worse than waking up from sleep in pain.

She groomed before finally opening her eyes before closing them again. The light was too bright for her.

Evelyn heard a click and even though her eyes were closed, she knew the lights had been dimmed to make her open her eyes again.

"Here," she heard a small noise and looked over to the side table, to find Salvatore keeping a small Tablet with a glass of water there. "you don’t have to eat anything prior to this one."

Groggily, she got up and is left before taking the tablet and swallowing it down with water.

"Thank you," she places the glass of water down. "Good morning." Evelyn said to her husband who was standing in front of her bare chested with his arms crossed in front of him.

He cocked a brow, "had fun drinking last night?"

Drinking— Ohh.

She gulped slightly. "Well," she cleared her throat, " it happens sometimes when you get overwhelmed. I swear to God it will happen again."

His lips were about to break into a smile but before that could happen Salvatore lightly shook his head and extended his hand in front of her. "Come."

Without a second thought, Evelyn placed her hand in his and got up. Thinking about it for a quick second, maybe something changed after last night. Something that made them a little open each other.

When they started walking Evelyn realised that they could either be heading into the direction of the dining room or to the room of their daughter.

"Do you want to wake her up?"

It was her room then. Evelyn answered, "we can. I had her turn to bed early last night because we were going out."

Slowly, and quietly, Salvatore opened the door to her room. Just as she had expected, Arabella was still sleeping.

As if maternal instincts took over, she sidestepped Salvatore and entered the room before going towards her child.

"Good morning," she caressed her back gently, "hi baby!" she whispered when arabella opened her eyes.

"No," she closed her eyes and turned to the side. Hah, the lil grump.

"Come on," Evelyn turned her gently even though the little body tried to put as much as force to stop it.

"Look," she angled the face of her daughter towards her father and pointed to him, "papa is here."

Within a second, Arabella snapped her eyes open and a lazy smile broke out on her face before she closed her eyes and snuggled into her mother’s shoulder.

"Good morning." She wished shyly.

Evelyn felt his presence right behind her as he gently touched the cheek of his daughter. "Good morning, baby."

Evelyn touched the wood of Arabella’s bed. What a good morning, indeed.
