Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 279: The Lovely brother - I*
*****
She must have fallen asleep, because the moment she heard a door slamming against the wall, Evelyn jerked up from her sleeping position on the floor and into a sitting one.
The man in front of her appeared to be just like the one that her husband had employed. Bulky, muscular and emotionless.
Just the description of someone who could kill you easily and would not even leave the slightest bit of evidence behind.
"Come," he grunted out, "Or do I need to throw you over my shoulder?"
Within seconds, she was up and ready to walk out of the room.
The man stepped back, allowing her space to move from the door. "don’t try to run, the people here would not think twice before shooting you down."
And that was enough motivation to cancel the part where she was trying to find an escape route.
The man casually walked in front of her as if having no worries that she was going to Escape out of this.
Unlike the last time that she had been out of the room, when she was being carried inside, there were not many people around her. No chatter chatter like the last time or the hustle bustle of a room filled with people. Instead this place looked like something abandoned by people.
Her eyes constantly moved around, most likely trying to find an escape route without having the intention of doing so. She had to keep one handy, just so if she ever received the chance, she could Bolt.
The man climbed a small staircase, in front of which was one door that he knocked on.
Evelyn heard a slight mumble from where she was standing. The man opened the door and with a small conversation, he stepped out and gestured Evelyn inside.
Hesitant to get out of all options, Evelyn moved inside the door slowly passing the man on her way in. The moment she stepped over the threshold of the room, the door was closed behind her making her jump slightly.
"You are a little jumpy today, Evelyn." A tsk came from around the room. "But then again, you were always jumpy."
Her head whipped around and in the direction to which she had heard the voice from. It was Matt.
"Matt?" She whispered, taking a step closer. "what the hell? What are you doing here?"
He smiled, before getting up from the chair behind the desk that he was sitting on. Shrugging his shoulders, he answered, "taking over to what was supposed to be mine, Evelyn."
"yours? What was supposed to be yours? Why am I here, matt?"
So many questions now swam in her mind. Why was she here? Why was Matt here? How the hell did you control so many people because it was obvious that the man who had escorted her from the little cell that she was being held in to the office we Matt was, he worked under Matt for sure.
But when did an accountant that was financed through her father get so much power?
"Do you know that there are many bosses who have extramarital affairs?" he drummed his fingers on the table that he leaned against in front of her.
The fact that he was so casually bringing up this topic slightly scared Evelyn. "Um, yes?" That was true and it would be a fool’s choice to deny it.
He nodded, " and that your father was a boss himself?" 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Now it was evident in which direction he was talking about. He could not be more clear to where he was indicating but Evelyn did not want to hear it.
Even though she knew that after her mother died, it was obvious that her father was going to resume relationships at one point of time she was not ready to hear about it.
Certainly not from someone Who had no business in talking about them.
"Maybe you should let me go back to my home," she began, " I cannot provide you with any sort of help if that is what you are thinking. Perhaps you should try and contact my husband for business."
There was no way she could help him so the point of keeping her hair was useless.
Was she completely ignoring the reason why he had actually brought her hair? Yes, she was. But the only way she could get out of the situation was by remaining confident in the fact that her husband would find her no matter what.
He tsked again, shaking his head as he stared at her. "What part of it do you not understand, Evelyn? Try to think of it the way I am playing it out in front of you. Minimum of your bosses have affairs outside marriage and I am taking over what was rightfully mine."
She found as her eyes placed over. Affairs and taking what was rightfully hairs? What the hell—
She gasped and looked up. "You.. you can’t be."
Matt shook his head with a small smile playing on his lips, "I would be lying if I said so. But I am afraid I am."
"No," she shook her head adamantly, "there is no way my father would ever let it happen. He would ensure that there was no child, at least not out of marriage, at least not a boy who would have a claim to his organisation!"
That was something she was sure of. Her father would never let a boy be alive out of marriage knowing how risky it could be for him. Not only that, especially when he had one girl child who had no intention of taking over the organisation, Carlo was in a difficult position which always had him make sure that he had no litter of children roaming around.
He sighed loudly, "At the end of the day, you are my sister Evelyn. No matter how much you deny or go into specifics, nothing will change that your father Was not careful enough and I came into the world. And since I have come into the world, I will stake a claim on what is rightfully now mine."
