Chimaera's Conquest: The Legend Of The Devourer-Chapter 312: Poseidon’s Rage
Chapter 312: Poseidon’s Rage
The fey couldn’t think straight. Poseidon had instructed him to get Bellerophon’s corpse back. But if he did that, Adrian would inform the other admins about the incident.
An anomaly during trials was something the admins took seriously. If they got to know he did it because Poseidon had paid him with artefacts, all hell would break loose. His days as the floor admin would be over and they might even throw him in Tartarus for it.
That was the last thing the fey wanted. Even if it cost him the relationship with Poseidon and the rest of the Olympus, besides, since he was an admin, they wouldn’t dare mess with him even if he told them to fuck off.
In other words, the choice was obvious. Begrudgingly, the fey flew away, leaving Bellerophon’s corpse aside for Adrian.
"That’s what I thought," Adrian smirked, watching the fey fly away.
Next, his eyes fell on Bellerophon’s lifeless self. He wanted to kill him ever since the incident on the first floor. However, this wasn’t the way Adrian wanted him to die.
’It was too easy.’
However, there wasn’t much he could have done about it now. What was done was done. But that didn’t mean he couldn’t reap some rewards.

’Only one organ huh? I’m disappointed.’
Since Beelerophon was a demigod, Adrian looked forward to farming his organs. However, it seemed the demigod was Poseidon’s least favoured son for a reason.
Still, a demigod was better than a human. Besides, he could get more stats from devouring the corpse.
"Time to see if this works," he murmured, squatting beside Bellerophon.
The process began and immediately, he felt a searing pain shoot up his arm. It was as if molten lava was flowing through his veins. He gritted his teeth, trying to endure the agony.
Adrian had swapped out his organs countless times before. But he had never felt pain like this. It wasn’t enough to make him pass out, but it hurt so much that he’d rather swim in a pool full of jellyfish than go through this again.
’Got to focus... fuck!’
The process of absorption was excruciating. He could feel the bones in his arm shifting and rearranging themselves, the skin stretching and melding together.
Minutes felt like hours as the absorption continued. He could feel a strange power coursing through him, integrating with his existing abilities. Eventually, the pain began to subside.
Adrian opened his eyes and looked down at his new hand. It was a bit bigger and out of place, but he could easily fix it later. But the fact was, that Bellerophon’s hand was now his. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
He flexed his fingers and it felt weird. He had a stronger grip and could even control the blood splattered around him. It was a strange ability, but it would give him more control over [Poison Mist] now, which wasn’t something he expected.
With practice and some swings, the hand began feeling natural, as if it had always been a part of him.
<Impressive, Master. I always knew you could do it!>
’I got lucky this time.’
Despite Lucina’s encouragement, Adrian knew his victory was a fluke. He couldn’t have defeated Bellerophon had it not been for the tower’s interference.
But it also made him question, why would Bellerophon throw it all away like that. He knew about the tower’s punishment and still went through with the fight.
"Whatever," Adrian shook his head. "I got what I wanted so let’s wrap everything up and leave."
A dark, swirling energy began to emanate from his palms, spreading over the corpse like a shadow. As the [Devour] skill took hold, Adrian could feel his strength increasing. His muscles bulged, his senses sharpened, and his mind became clearer.
The corpse beneath his hands began to wither, turning to dust as the last remnants of life were drained away. That was it. He had declared war on Poseidon and probably Olympus as a whole. The only difference was that this time, they were inside the tower and all of them were mortal.

Silence shrouded Poseidon’s mansion. The children had gathered on their father’s call but they all stood in complete silence, knowing their father’s fury was about to erupt.
"Bellerophon," Poseidon began, his voice low and dangerous, "was a fool. And yet, I hoped he would at least injure the mortal before the tower’s punishment struck him down. But I overestimated him."
Sat on his throne made of corals and seashells, Poseidon scanned the room. His eyes finally set on Triton, his eldest and most trusted son. But he shook his head. Poseidon had realised that blindly trusting his offspring would only bring him more problems.
"Not only did he fail," Poseidon continued, his voice rising with his anger. "but he allowed himself to be consumed by that mortal. A stain on my record! Zeus and Hades will mock me for this for all eternity!"
Everyone remained quiet. None of them had liked or even treated Bellerophon as their equal, but even in death he had screwed them over.
"I cannot allow this to go unpunished," Poseidon declared, interrupting their train of thought. "Triton, come forward."
"Yes, Father," Triton said.
"You are to ensure this mortal, does not reach the tenth floor," Poseidon commanded. "If he does, it will be too late for us. Do whatever it takes. Do you understand?"
Triton nodded. "I understand, Father. I will not fail you."
Hearing those words, Poseidon nodded. The anger in his eyes seemed to have diminished a bit, but not enough for him to stay idle. He had to do something about the Fey’s betrayal and knew who to approach.
