Chapter 204: Eternity, Part Five

Lianna couldn’t quite believe what she was hearing.

"She attacked you?" Lianna asked Caroline, who was speaking with her over the phone.

"Indeed, she did," Caroline sighed. "But, the attack itself isn’t why I’m calling. Lianna," she stopped, "that girl is getting stronger."

There it was.

Lianna figured that was the case, if Vy was willing to take-on one of her hardest matchups remaining in Caroline.

Even though the girl ended up running away, this still showed how her confidence was increasing, and with good reason.

"Can you come to my, uh, my new house? We’ll talk about it more here."

"I’m on my way."

She hung up.

Lianna leaned back on the couch.

[... What do we do?]

Soon, everyone was gathered together once again.

Lianna began with:

"We need to take her down, once and for all." She inhaled sharply. "The longer we go without fighting her the stronger she’s going to get. And... If you ask me, the moment she can take Caroline down 1-on-1, is probably the moment we can’t beat her anymore."

Her words hung in the air for a time.

"We already have a place where we can go and get some information," Zura said. "I think we put all our effort into investigating it tonight, see what we find, and then, we go and we deal with her. Wherever she might be."

"How do we know where to find her, though?" Enverna asked.

"That one building we went to," Zura replied. "She’s bound to go back there at some point, right? It’s not like she ever figured out that we were there. I say we head right back and take her out."

"... A lot of innocent people are probably going to get caught up in the altercation, though," Enverna responded.

Zura just gave her a hard look in return and said:

"At this point, I think we’re just going to have to accept the collateral and move on. I mean," she shrugged, "what else can we do?"

"..."

No one said anything for a while. She was right, Lianna thought. As much as she didn’t want anyone who didn’t deserve it to get hurt over this, she couldn’t deny that if the options stood between either:

Some people getting hurt and Vy dying.

Or

2. The whole world ending.

She was going to choose option 1.

"I... I think Zura’s right," Lianna finally stated. "I think, people getting hurt is just something we’re simply going to have to deal with."

Enverna looked like she had reservations, as did Mel. But, no one argued against the point.

At the very least, they all understood the importance of concluding this struggle soon.

"... Very well," Enverna finally stated. "We’ll investigate tonight. Then, tomorrow, we’ll look to end Vy’s life once and for all. Let’s hope it truly does all end here."

Lianna and Zura navigated the narrow, winding alleys of the slums, their senses on high alert.

The air was thick with the stench of uncollected garbage and the faint scent of desperation. This part of Telvan was a stark contrast to the more affluent areas they were used to, but it was exactly where they needed to be if they wanted to learn more about Vy.

As they walked, Lianna’s phone buzzed in her pocket. She pulled it out, seeing Athene’s name on the screen.

"Athene, what’s up?" she answered, her voice low.

"I’ve been digging," Athene replied, her tone serious. "Many children of mana have been seen visiting equipment shops and heading out of Telvan, coming back covered in Fiend blood. It looks like they’re gearing up for something big. They likely know you and your friends will be coming for them soon."

Lianna’s brow furrowed.

"Thanks, Athene. That’s... concerning. We’ll keep that in mind." As she hung up, Zura glanced at her.

"What did Athene say?"

"They’re preparing for a fight," Lianna replied, her eyes scanning the crowd around them. "They know we’re coming."

Zura nodded and continued walking, her eyes flicking around as she approached a group of locals huddled near a rundown market stall. She exchanged a few words with them, but their faces were tight with fear, and they shook their heads, quickly dispersing.

"No one wants to talk about Vy," Zura said, frustration evident in her voice as she rejoined Lianna.

"We need to make sure we don’t overstay our welcome," Lianna said, using her {Target Analysis} to scan the people around them.

Most of the profiles were unremarkable, filled with mundane details of survival and struggle. None of them pointed towards Vy. After hours of searching and questioning, they found themselves no closer to useful information.

By now, midnight was soon approaching.

As they made their way toward the edge of the district, Lianna halted, her eyes catching the sight of an abandoned home.

An idea came to her.

"Wait," she said, pulling Zura towards the decrepit building. "There’s one more thing we can do."

Pushing the door open, Lianna led Zura inside. The air was stale, and the faint light filtered through the dirty windows, casting an eerie glow on the dust-covered furniture. Lianna pushed Zura against the wall.

"Lianna, what are you doing?" Zura asked, her voice a mix of confusion and intrigue.

"I need to maintain my Love Rush buff," Lianna whispered, her hands deftly unbuttoning Zura’s pants. "Is it okay if I eat your pussy here?"

Zura’s breath hitched.

[... A bit direct, huh?]

Lianna felt she probably should have worded that a little more softly, but at the same time...

... Well, in her current state of mind, she didn’t really care much.

Looking away, Zura took a moment to think about it.

Then, she nodded.

"Yeah, it’s okay... For the buff, right?"

"Yeah," Lianna smiled. "For the buff."

Lianna dropped to her knees, pulling Zura’s pants down.

She glanced up. It was quick, but desire was visibly flooding Zura’s eyes.

It was a small moment of intimacy amidst the chaos, but it was necessary. Her tongue flicked out, teasing Zura’s folds before diving in, tasting the heat and wetness that greeted her.

Zura gasped, her hands gripping Lianna’s hair as she leaned back against the wall, surrendering to the sensation.

Lianna’s movements were precise and practiced, designed to bring Zura to the edge quickly. They weren’t exactly in a private place.

Still, Lianna did enjoy this. The buff was a practical necessity, but this moment was also a brief respite from their relentless hunt.

Lianna’s mind focused on Zura’s pleasure, on the way her body reacted, on the sounds she made. She knew exactly how to drive Zura wild, and she did so with an intensity that left them both breathless.

As Zura’s orgasm built, her hips bucked against Lianna’s mouth, her moans growing louder. Lianna didn’t let up, pushing Zura over the edge, feeling the tremors of her climax ripple through her.

"MMM!" Zura kept her mouth closed, clearly trying not to alert anyone who could be nearby. "Oh, fuck," she finally breathed once she could.

When it was over, Zura slumped against the wall, her breathing heavy. Lianna stood, wiping her mouth with a satisfied smirk.

"How’d that feel?" Lianna asked quietly.

"... Kinda nice, I guess." Zura teased. Lianna rolled her eyes, pulling Zura’s pants back up.

"We should get out of here. Come on."

"Roger that, ma’am."

Lianna raised a brow.

"Ma’am?"

Zura just shrugged.

"Whatever."
