Chapter 219: Chapter 219 You like what you see?

Victoria’s POV

Damien’s perfectly sculpted muscles rippled beneath my fingertips, each defined ridge and valley an invitation to explore further. His body was a masterpiece—powerful, hard, and impossibly warm against my touch. When my hands roamed across his chest, he let out a deep, primal growl that vibrated through my core.

"Victoria," he breathed, his midnight blue eyes tracking my wandering fingers with predatory intensity.

I felt my wolf, Nora, stirring beneath my skin, responding instinctively to Arthur, Damien’s wolf. The mating bond between us pulsed with renewed energy, no longer hindered by the enchanted bracelet I’d finally removed. The smoky cedar and midnight rose scent of him filled my senses, making my head swim with desire.

"You like what you see?" His voice was rough with need as he watched me explore his body.

"You know I do," I whispered, tracing the defined lines of his abs. The contact sent electricity through my fingertips and straight to my core. My body responded immediately, my scent sweetening with arousal.

Without warning, Damien stripped off his remaining clothes and pinned me beneath him, his movements fluid yet urgent. I could feel the hard length of him pressing against my thigh as he captured my mouth in a searing kiss that left me breathless.

"Mine," he growled against my lips, his alpha authority sending shivers down my spine. "My mate."

What followed was hours of wild, uninhibited passion. The feel of him moving inside me, stretching me, filling me completely—it was primal and raw. We shifted positions throughout the night, sometimes with me on top, riding him to completion as he gripped my hips hard enough to bruise, other times with him taking me from behind, his chest pressed against my back as he whispered filthy promises in my ear.

"Fuck, Victoria," he groaned as I tightened around him. "You feel so goddamn perfect."

We didn’t bother with protection—a detail that would have concerned me with anyone else, but not with my mate. Not with Damien. The bond between us was complete now, our wolves fully recognizing each other.

By the time exhaustion finally claimed us, the sheets were tangled beyond repair, and my body ached in the most delicious way.

The harsh ring of my phone jolted me from sleep. Sunlight streamed through the windows, and I squinted at the clock, momentarily disoriented. Kane’s name flashed on my screen.

"Victoria, are you coming to the office?" Kane’s concerned voice filled my ear. "The meeting with the Northern alliance starts in less than thirty minutes."

My stomach dropped. "Shit," I muttered, suddenly very awake. The Northern alliance meeting—how could I forget? The Alpha of North Pine Pack was flying in specifically to discuss territorial agreements that would benefit both our packs against the growing threat of rogue wolves.

"I’ll be there soon," I promised, trying to sound more put together than I felt.

I ended the call and turned to glare at Damien, who was watching me through hooded eyes, looking entirely too satisfied with himself. "You!" I grabbed a pillow and smashed it against his face. "You did this on purpose!"

He didn’t even try to defend himself, just lay there letting me attempt to smother him with the pillow. His broad shoulders shook with silent laughter.

"Are you trying to murder your mate already?" he asked when I finally pulled the pillow away, his voice thick with amusement. "Most wolves wait at least a month before attempting that."

"You knew I had that meeting today!" I accused, trying to ignore how devastatingly handsome he looked with his dark hair mussed from sleep and our activities. "I’m going to be late because you couldn’t control yourself." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"Me?" Damien raised an eyebrow, his hand finding my waist and pulling me closer. "If I recall correctly, you were the one who couldn’t keep her hands to herself last night."

I felt my cheeks flush. He wasn’t wrong. "That’s beside the point. No more midnight marathons when I have early meetings."

"Fine," he conceded, his fingers tracing patterns on my bare back. "Next time I’ll be more... considerate of your schedule. But I make no promises about my restraint."

"There won’t be a next time if I miss this meeting," I grumbled, attempting to climb out of bed.

My legs betrayed me immediately, muscles trembling from the night’s exertion. I nearly collapsed before Damien’s strong arm caught me around the waist, steadying me against his chest.

"Easy there," he murmured, his breath warm against my ear. "No need to hurt yourself on my account."

The concern in his voice was genuine, a stark contrast to his playful attitude seconds before. This was the Damien few people got to see—the one behind the calculated playboy façade he showed the world. I’d begun to realize that this protective, caring side of him was reserved solely for me.

"I need to shower," I said, trying to regain my composure despite being pressed against his naked body. "Kane will send a search party if I don’t show soon."

Damien’s eyes darkened. "Need help washing your back?"

I pushed away from him, knowing exactly where that offer would lead. "Nice try. But I think you’ve ’helped’ enough for one morning."

His laughter followed me to the bathroom, deep and rich, sending another wave of warmth through my body despite my frustration. My wolf preened at the sound, delighted by our mate’s happiness.

As the hot water cascaded over my sore muscles, I couldn’t help but smile. My life had changed so dramatically in such a short time. From the heartbreak of discovering Ethan’s betrayal with Scarlett to finding my true mate in his older brother—it was like some cosmic joke.

But as I rushed to prepare for my meeting, I couldn’t deny one simple truth: betrayal had led me straight to where I was always meant to be.
