Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off-Chapter 341: Lan Lan, Do you want to take him as a beast husband?
Su Qinglan continued moving forward while being carried in Han Jue’s arms.
Her eyes never stopped searching the surroundings.
She looked to the left. Nothing.
She looked to the right. Still nothing.
No matter how far they walked, there was not a single trace of Shi Feng or Xuan Long. It was as if the two of them had completely vanished from the surface of the earth.
The forest was quiet...
Even though they had already covered quite a long distance, there was still no sign of battle... Nothing at all.
Su Qinglan’s heart slowly sank.
Her fingers tightened against Han Jue’s arms as anxiety crept up her chest. She shifted uneasily in his arms, unable to calm herself down.
On the other hand, Rong Ye was clearly in a terrible mood.
He kept muttering under his breath as they walked, his voice low and sharp. No one could clearly understand every word he said, but it was obvious that none of it was pleasant.
His expression was dark, his brows tightly furrowed.
"It would be better if Xuan Long really killed that bastard," Rong Ye muttered angrily. "How dare he have such filthy thoughts about our female."
The more he spoke, the angrier he became.
He suddenly stomped his foot hard against the ground, cracking the soil beneath it.
"I should go and find Xuan Long," he said through clenched teeth. "Beat that lion until he can’t even lift his head again. Let’s see if he still dares to look at her."
Hu Yan glanced at him calmly.
Then he shifted his gaze toward the basket in his arms, checking on the cubs, completely ignoring Rong Ye’s outburst.
Only Hu Yan remained relatively calm among the three.
He did not say much, nor did he express his thoughts openly. He simply followed along, his steps steady and his expression unreadable.
After all, he had not fully decided what to do yet.
As for the cubs, they were unusually quiet.
They did not dare make any noise.
They only poked their little heads out of the basket, their round eyes blinking curiously as they looked at the scenery passing by. To them, this was nothing more than a strange and interesting stroll through an unfamiliar forest.
They did not understand the tension in the air.
They were simply happy.
Han Jue, however, noticed something else entirely.
He looked down at the woman in his arms.
Su Qinglan was squirming slightly, her brows drawn together, her lips pressed into a thin line. Worry was written clearly on her face.
A sharp pain suddenly stabbed into Han Jue’s chest.
He hesitated for a brief moment, then finally spoke.
"Lan Lan," he asked in a deep voice.
She looked up at him instinctively.
"Are you worried about the lion?"
His tone was calm, but if anyone listened carefully, they would notice the tightness in his voice. His jaw was clenched so hard it almost looked painful. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Su Qinglan froze.
She stared at him blankly for a second before answering honestly.
"What are you saying?" she said. "Of course I am."
The moment those words left her mouth, something shattered inside Han Jue’s heart.
Even Hu Yan and Rong Ye were stunned.
Both of them clenched their fists, their expressions darkening, but neither dared to say a single word.
The atmosphere instantly became heavy.
Su Qinglan quickly realized what she had said.
She stiffened.
She immediately tried to correct herself, panic flashing through her eyes.
"I mean...," she started, then hurriedly continued, "if he actually dies because of us, how are we supposed to face the Lion Tribe later?"
Her voice became faster as she spoke.
"We are already facing a beast tide. We can’t afford any casualties at all. If the Lion King dies, the entire tribe will turn against us. That would only make things worse."
She looked at Han Jue, trying to coax him.
But Han Jue’s body remained stiff.
His steps slowed slightly.
Then he stopped altogether.
"Lan Lan," he said quietly.
Her heart skipped a beat.
"Do you want to take him as a beast husband?"
The question hit her like a bolt of lightning.
Su Qinglan’s eyes widened.
"What?" she blurted out.
Before she could say anything else, Han Jue suddenly lowered his head and pressed a hand over her mouth.
"Don’t answer," he said hoarsely. "Forget I even asked."
He immediately turned his gaze forward, refusing to look at her.
In truth, he was afraid.
Afraid to hear her answer.
What if she said yes?
Did he even have the right to stop her?
No.
In this world, a female could have many mates. It was normal. It was even considered a good thing.
And jealous beastmen were disliked.
If they killed Shi Feng or drove him away because of jealousy, would she resent them?
Would she despise them?
The thought alone made Han Jue’s chest tighten painfully.
What if she actually liked the lion?
What if they ruined everything with their possessiveness?
He did not want to face that possibility.
His grip unconsciously tightened around her as these thoughts raced through his mind.
In the end, there was only one thing he was sure of. He was not ready to see her anger.
And he was even more afraid of seeing her disgust.
So he chose silence.
Han Jue suddenly increased his speed.
The wind rushed past them as he moved faster through the forest.
If they reached Xuan Long in time and Shi Feng was still alive, then everything would be fine.
If stopping this fight would please her, then he would do it.
Because right now, the only thing he could not afford to lose was her...and he couldn’t allow his Possessiveness to take over him.
He was in a terrible state.
He continued walking forward, his steps steady, his arms holding Su Qinglan firmly, but his mind was in complete chaos. His eyes kept scanning the forest ahead, trying to find even the smallest trace of Xuan Long and Shi Feng.
But there was nothing...no traces of them, no traces of fight.
It was as if both of them had vanished completely.
