Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off-Chapter 393:Where is Xuan Long?
On the other hand, An Mo finally arrived with the troublemaker in his arms.
He looked completely exhausted. His usually neat hair was slightly messy, and his robe had tiny handprints all over it.
Duo Duo was crying so loudly that birds flew out of the nearby trees in fright.
An Mo clicked his tongue in annoyance.
"My ancestors, can you keep quiet for one moment?" he complained dramatically. "If you do not shut up, I will truly kill your father, and then you will become a real orphan. How does that sound?"
As he said those terrifying words, An Mo flashed a brilliant, dazzling smile at the toddler in his arms.
Duo Duo froze.
Her tear soaked face went completely blank for a second, as if her little brain was trying to process what she had just heard.
Then...
"WAAAAAAAHHHHH!"
She burst into even louder tears.
Her tiny hands immediately grabbed An Mo’s handsome face, scratching from all sides without mercy. Her small legs stomped wildly against his chest several times, kicking in every direction possible.
An Mo staggered back a step but burst out laughing instead of getting angry.
"You little demon!" he laughed. "Calm down, calm down. I was joking! Can you stop ruining your uncle’s precious face? If I get disfigured, how will I find my mate?"
Duo Duo did not calm down at all. She smacked his cheek with her tiny palm.
"And then you will not have younger siblings," An Mo continued shamelessly. "After all, your useless father could not even keep his mate. He was kicked away..."
Before he could finish laughing, a chill suddenly crept up his spine.
The air behind him turned dangerously cold.
A calm, low voice sounded directly at his back.
"And why do you assume that I was kicked away by my mate?"
An Mo’s laughter froze instantly. His entire body stiffened.
Very slowly, like a man facing his execution, he turned his head.
There stood his brother. His expression was calm and dangerous.
An Mo blinked once, then forced out a dry laugh. "Is it not right, Brother? Were you not kicked away? Or how has our Duo Duo been without a mother all this time?"
He even raised an innocent eyebrow.
Duo Duo, upon seeing her father, instantly stopped crying. Her watery eyes lit up with excitement.
With a sudden burst of energy, she pushed An Mo’s face away with full force.
"Ba!" she sobbed, reaching out her tiny arms desperately.
An Mo almost lost his balance from the shove. "Heartless little thing," he muttered.
Her father stepped forward without another word and smoothly took his chubby daughter into his arms.
The moment she settled against his chest, Duo Duo wrapped her arms tightly around his neck as if afraid he would disappear.
He looked down at her tear stained face, and the calmness in his eyes softened instantly.
"Did your uncle bully you?" he asked gently while wiping the tears with his calloused hand. "Tell me, why are your eyes so red?"
He lowered his head and kissed the little nose of his baby daughter.
Duo Duo sniffed loudly and immediately pointed her tiny finger toward An Mo in accusation.
An Mo raised both hands. "Wait, wait. Let us speak rationally..."
The man’s expression darkened slightly as he held Duo Duo in his arms.
"Where have you taken my daughter?" he asked coldly.
Before An Mo could answer, he continued, "From now on, you are not allowed to take her anywhere for such a long time. Do you understand?"
An Mo immediately nodded. For once, he did not dare to argue back.
He absolutely could not tell him that he had taken Duo Duo to the lower domain. If his brother found out, he would completely lose his calm. The consequences would be terrifying.
He was already mentally prepared for another long lecture, especially since the little demon in his brother’s arms had finally stopped crying and was now beginning to complain in broken, angry baby words while pointing at him nonstop.
However, instead of scolding him further, the man simply adjusted Duo Duo in his arms and turned toward An Mo calmly.
"Someone has come to meet you," he said. "They have been waiting for a long time."
An Mo blinked.
"Who?" he frowned. "I did not invite anyone."
He turned and began walking toward the area where guests were received.
Just who had come to meet him?
Everyone was aware of his notorious temper. Very few people dared to approach him willingly. So who could it be?
He stepped into the reception hall and froze mid step.
A man was sitting calmly at the table, holding a tea bowl between his fingers.
An Mo’s pupils shrank. For a brief second, his eyes went completely blank.
Then, just as quickly, his usual lazy smile returned as if nothing had happened.
"Why is Elder Teng here?" An Mo said lightly. "How did you come to my humble home?"
The man elegantly lifted the bowl and took a slow sip of tea before glancing at him.
"Where is Xuan Long?" 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
An Mo was stunned for a split second. Then he burst into laughter.
"How would I know? Am I his father?" he mocked lazily. "Why would I keep track of his whereabouts?"
Elder Teng’s brows furrowed slightly.
"Lord An Mo, do not joke with me," he said sternly. "Xuan Long is very close to you. You must know where he is."
An Mo leaned back in his seat casually, one arm draped over the armrest.
"Why does Elder Teng suddenly want to find Xuan Long?" he asked with a raised brow. "It is not the first time he has disappeared. He must be in slumber somewhere. If he did not visit you, how would I know?"
His tone was relaxed and indifferent.
But inside, his heart tightened sharply.
Did this old geezer discover something?
Why ask about Xuan Long now?
They had never seemed worried about him before. So why this sudden concern?
An Mo’s fingers almost twitched with the urge to drag this man out of his residence immediately.
If they had any ill intentions...
If they had somehow gotten news of little Xiao San...
He would bury this man here without hesitation.
No one was allowed to touch his brother’s cubs.
Not even their own elders.
Yes, he had a terrible character.
Yes, he and Xuan Long fought constantly and competed in everything.
But at the end of the day, they were still brothers.
They had sworn to stand by each other’s side. No one could ever separate them.
They could fight and argue as much as they wanted. But no outsider would ever be allowed to harm his brother.
Only he was allowed to bully that grumpy snake.
