Codex Null: Simulation Through Madness-Chapter 103: Wealthy (Unedited)

With how convenient the situation was, there was really no reason for Clarissa to refuse... Noel, thought.

"Okay, and what’s in it for you? You are saying it’s a deal, so, there’s something you want, and it can’t be the apex relic... so, what do you want?" Clarissa asked.

Arriving at this point, Noel, was confident, that Clarissa has accepted his offer, and so exhaling softly in relief, he said, "It’s one favor."

"Or, to elaborate further, there’s one person I’m going to poach from the Ravelli house, and I want you to back me up at that moment."

Clarissa raised her eyebrow, a little intrigued about the person Noel would want to poach, but, knowing she would find that out later, she didn’t prey further and instead asked another question, "It’s can’t be only this, so, what else do you want?"

"Everything else," with a gleam in his eyes, Noel said.

"I want everything else in the dimension, and even the dimension itself... and if you feel a little generous, then, a little momentary compensation, as I need some money for my coming plans."

’That’s more like it.’ Clarissa thought, as she nodded.

After all, if it was only the first thing, then, she would have doubted the authenticity of the existence of relic, because she couldn’t imagine Noel, accepting a losing deal.

"You really have a good appetite." she said.

And Noel, only smiled, not saying anything more.

He had hided a lot of things from Clarissa after all.

First, to him, his first goal, was the soul crystals, he was going to get as a compensation

With them, he was going to get an Imperial talent.

That was more important than anything.

His priority is always his strength after all.

Second, he wanted the dimension itself and what’s inside because he was going to sell what could be sold, and then... because he was suspicious.

From the memory he got about the dimension, there didn’t seem to be anything wrong.

A dimension appeared, some fights happened, and then there was an apex relic found there.

Nothing too extraordinary aside from the fact that an apex relic was found there.

It was such an everyday occurrence, that, even the simulation text, didn’t mention that he got some out of ordinary information.

But, that for the simulation, and the Codex Null.

Actually even inside the simulation, Noel was suspicious.

They were too secretive.

The Li clan, was not a very strong group, but, they could still be considered among the top.

But, they were too secretive, that had he not searched specifically for information, and Lirien was not competent enough, then, he wouldn’t have found out about this dimension... so, why?

That was the first suspicious point.

But, there were more.

And that is, many people seemed to have died in this dimension.

Not from those groups that fought the Li clan though.

But, from the Li clan itself.

And they were all people who entered the dimension.

How did they die?

Unfortunate incidents, and with other fights with other groups.

That was what he was told, but, Noel naturally didn’t believe that.

One, ten, or more could die that way, but, not everyone aside from the main members of Li clan.

So, in his hypothesis, it should be the Li clan themselves that killed them... to silence them.

And to keep what ever was found inside securely hidden.

Inside the simulation, by the time, he found about all these information, the time was already late, so, he didn’t bother, by expanding his efforts on some uncertain information.

But, to Noel now?

It was worth it.

Because, either way, even if his hypothesis turned out to be wrong. Then he should still get an apex relic.

The dimension, had appeared simply a few weeks ago, after all.

And nothing should have been discovered inside.

After all, exploring it should take time, especially with all the fights still going on, it will make everything just harder.

Anyway, then, there is the finally point, which he told Clarissa at first, poaching someone of the Ravelli house... that someone was naturally Elsa.

But, Noel, only said, as a camouflage, for his real intention which was the dimension itself.

He was confident he could get Elsa, even without Clarissa interfering after all.

And for the consequences of that?

He could also afford it.

So, she was only a safeguard to him.

"Okay, so, to summarize everything up to this point, I will get an apex relic, and you will take everything else from this dimension, then, I also need to back you up when you poach that someone from the Ravelli house, and to add more, I also need to give you some Soul Crystals."

"That’s all, right?" Clarissa suddenly asked.

And Noel who was absorbed in his thoughts, gave his attention back to her, as he nodded, "Yes, that’s all."

’So, what is your answer?’ Noel, asked Clarissa with his eyes, not saying the question out aloud.

And Clarissa hummed for a moment, looking at him meaningfully, before agreeing.

Noel tried to control his smile from showing his joy, before he asked, "Then, when you are ready?"

"Now." Clarissa said, as she stood up.

Noel, didn’t need to be told twice, as he also rose from his place, and move out of the room with her.

Then, with a tense Hilda and Nadine, that joined up at some point, and followed them from behind, and walking beside Clarissa, Noel, went out of the Everen’s main dimension.

Instead of using the gate he came from though, he used another one.

A bigger and more stabilized one.

Why?

Because, this was the main gate, the gate that sent them to the Everen’s territory in the real world.

Not in the United states, instead of Canada.

The gate he came from, was a one, Selena constructed and then connected it to their main dimension anchored in here, so, she could see him.

Originally, the Everen didn’t have a foot in the United states, after all.

Then, was it simply for coming into their territory though, that they used this gate?

No, it was for something else.

The answer lay on the big hall, where many gates were lines together, some bigger than the others, while some shining and some dim, now before his eyes.

Noel, stayed in his place as he looked at this sight, comparing it with the Cross house from his memory... he couldn’t help but once again, admit, that the Everen house, was really more wealthy than them.

In hidden society, the number of gates, an organization had in its territory is the biggest indicator of wealth and strength, after all.

Where did these gates lead to?

Mostly to big dimensions, that were difficult to anchor onto items, some for the other territories where they have connection with the organizations there, and some others, simply for the sake of convenience leading to different places.

And so, one of them should be leading to China... was what Noel deduced.

He didn’t bother by confirming that though, and instead, he turned his head to the side where Clarissa was standing and said, "You are really wealthy, mother in law!"

His tone seemed to be genuinely praising, and his eyes seemed to be amazed by this sight.

But, Clarissa was not deceived by that.

Was he saying due to the meager amount of the Soul Crystals she gave him yesterday? Or was he saying it now, because he will receive another compensation from her later, in the soul Crystal, and so, she shouldn’t be stingy like before?

Noel’s tone, didn’t make the answer clear, but either way, Clarissa still understood that she need to give him a proper compensation this time.

After Noel’s "innocent" comment, the group of four, finally moved on, and entered another gate, this time, finally arriving at China.

Everyone eyes turned to him, as he was the only one who knew the location of the dimension they were going to accurately.

But, checking his location, Noel found out, that they were still some distance away from their destination.

And so, he extended his hand, and held Clarissa’s soft one, as he said, "It’s still a little far from here, not the extent that we need to go and take the help of some witch to open a ate there, but, still, not a short distance that we could arrive there quickly with me current strength and speed."

After Noel, explained, clearly expression his intention to her, so, she can move, while bringing him with her, he told her the specific location.

Clarissa stayed silent for a moment, letting a tense atmosphere settle onto them, before she used her strength, broke the space, and took a step forward.

She brought along Noel, who was holding her hand, while Hilda and Nadine, simply followed the path Clarissa opened.

Like that, in mere moments, they arrived at their destination... where the dimension was.

There, unlike some of his expectations, the area of influence of the dimension was not big.
