Codex Null: Simulation Through Madness-Chapter 99: Trip (Unedited)
She didn’t give anyone any semblance of attention, and her presence seemed to have became just that much more heavy since the young master Noel lost his conscious.
It was clear that she didn’t put anyone in her eyes aside from the child him.
And while many seemed to have their pride hurt at that, no one dared to voice his thoughts.
No, rather, they were happy, that she suddenly vanished... and Derek, the head of the Cross Noble house included!
Hilda watched the last step of the ritual in silence, while taking everything around her.
Her gaze would go toward one of the two centers where, Noel, battered, and sbrawled on the ground were... only to end shedding her gaze to some different direction unable to see him like that.
Like that, time slowly passed, with the ritual going on, and the sound of Elaine’s sobbing, not far away.
When the ritual finally finished?
Hilda, stayed in her place, watching as Elain walked to her son, in unsteady steps, and watched as Derek, had a satisfied smile while looking at his daughter, still quietly digesting everything she took from her brother.
Parent and their two children, each seemed to have a different point, they were focused on...
It was then, as Hilda was pondering the enigma called the Cross house she was born into, that some change occurred.
The space of the dimension suddenly seemed to tremble and crack as drove upon drove of people entered.
And simultaneously members of the Cross house, ones that participated in the said ritual, suddenly attack.
Their target were three people.
The head of the Cross house, Derek.
The one, that receive the ritual, Lilith.
And the who had everything taken away from him, Noel.
If they were concentrating on the present, then they should have concentrated their fire power on Derek.
If they had some concerns about the future, then they would direct their most attack on Lilith.
But, those invaders, and the traitors from the Cross house... feared something more.
They feared the monster called Noel, despite how much he was injured and the state he was in.
They feared him more, and so, they concentrated their attacks on him.
Everything was happening at lightning speed.
And Hilda while reacting instantly, she was still some distance away from Noel.
But, there was someone else, who was now, nearly beside him... Elaine.
Maybe she lost her mind?
The most calm member in the Cross house that didn’t think much and were more action than words, suddenly made a stupid decision.
Instead of using her Law.
To defend herself and son.
She crouched down, and embraced Noel, and shielded him from everything with her body.
Hilda was already on move, while taking note of all of that.
She killed those traitors from the Cross house, who had directed their killing intent and their attacks on her young master, in mere seconds...
But, by that time, Elaine’s blood had already drenched her, her son, and the ground she was upon.
She didn’t seem to notice any of that though, and were instead checking on Noel, that he didn’t gain some scarch from the said attack.
And Hilda too wanted to make sure of that... but, while she has already dealt with the first wave, there were more people coming, and unlike those weak ones, who attacked Noel this time.
This time, the ones coming were far stronger, so, she didn’t have the easy to to check on Noel first, and instead continued moving onto her next target.
Part of her attention though, couldn’t help but move into different direction, to Derek, who easily killed those who attacked him and Lilith.
The center of the battle now, was on his side.
Hilda, after confirming that, turned her full attention, onto killing those who were were showing their fangs against Noel.
That was all on her mind.
She didn’t know how much time had passed, when finally the expensive dimension prepared for the ritual had finally turned silent.
But, with killing intent still radiating from her eyes, and heavy injuries all over her body, Hilda fiinally turned her gaze to take everything around her.
Noel was still alive in the arms of his mother, who had at some point gather back her senses, and actually help in the battle. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
But, she was on her last breath. And Nadine standing beside her, heavely injured, but, still crying silently, seemed to confirm her state.
Then, there was Derek... he actually died while taking the his brother and leader of the ones who attack them with him.
Lilith, who was wide eyes, and looking at everything, seemed to have a blacnk gaze upon her face, seemingly unable to comperhend what had happened.
Then, there was her.
No one remained other that them, in this dimension that was now, a pool of blood, and flesh, seemingly coming out straight from a horor movie.
.........
"My hands were already full, of trying to take the enemies who were coming after you, young master, so, that all I know about that battle." Hilda said, telling Noel sitting in front of her the events after he lost his consciousness.
And Noel with clenched hands, and nails digging into his palm, staining him and the sofa he was sitting on, and aura, that seemed to crack the room he was in, with an unfathomable gaze, nodded.
He had already known about this story from her, from those memories, he got.
He was already prepared, but, hearing them, in person from Hilda’s mouth once again, was still different.
And already knowing, despite Hilda not saying it yet, that there was no one to take revenge against, also couldn’t help but increase his resentment.
... or maybe not?
The bitches faction.
The witch faction, also had a hand on that incident.
Without their help, his uncle and those who had a design on his family, would never have been able to do what they did.
And Noel knew for a fact.
That those independent witches wouldn’t dare do this kind of thing.
They wouldn’t dare to interfere directly in the kind of disputes in strong families like the Cross House.
So, it was bound to be someone from the main Witch faction!
......
Inside a room, neatly decorated, and moderately furnished, Noel was still sitting on the sofa, while looking at the standing Hilda.
After he had simulated once for today, and he already made his choices, it was time to move on, and start with his plans.
But, nothing start before he finish talking with Hilda... and so, here he was.
Angry, agitated, and , at hearing information, he already knew from the memory of the simulation.
"Okay, and what happened, after that?" in a seemingly calm voice, Noel asked.
To him, it was an infuriating topic, one that wouldn’t fail to anger him, no matter how many time he was going to hear about about it.
But. It was still a topic, he needed to hear about directly, from Hilda... at least once, so, he planned to do just that.
"After that, the other members of the Cross house arrived, and while shocked they still listened to my orders, and went into alert state, and cleaning upon the scene."
"I left taking care of the situation there to them, while along Nadine, took care of the young master, and madam Elaine."
"Back then, miss Lilith, seemed to still be shocked, unable to comperhend what was happening, and just followed us."
"But, that’s too changed later."
Suddenly pausing, Hilda’s mind seemed to move in time, to that most shameful moment, where she was unable to fulfill her duty... but, in the end, she shook her head, and continued, " It’s after we settled you and madam Elain, in our Cross house’s main dimension, and were trying contain the situation, that suddenly Travis arrived."
Travis, the right hand man, of Derek, the head of the Cross house, someone who was mostly in the Averna dimension.
"Travis didn’t borther me or Nadine, instead he first saw, the remains of the previous head Derek, then, had a private talk with miss Lilith."
"It’s on the next day, that I finally met both of them, and talked with Miss Lilith."
"She talked about what I had in mind, and I didn’t divulge your wish to go to the Order of Veil, and simply stated, that we should wait until you regained your consciousness, and you could decide that on your."
"But, it’s seems like miss Lilith... didn’t like my answer."
Hilda couldn’t help but lower her head, when she arrived at this moment.
Nonetheless, she still continued speaking.
"I was asked to accompany Travis after that... to the Averna continent, and was restricted from ever coming near you."
Hilda didn’t stop talking even while her eyes, refused to meet Noel’s.
She explained how, she struggled against that command, and how she fought, Travis, and lost badly, and then, added how, during that time, that his mother Elaine took her final breath, but, she was unable to see that moment.
