Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 150: Summer Lowell Is Taken Back to Varden Villa by Maxim Sinclair
No matter how slow she was, Summer Lowell should have understood by now that Maxim Sinclair seemed to know everything about her situation at Stellart.
Summer chuckled at herself, walked over to open the car door, and sat down with a numb expression.
Maxim glanced at her expression but didn’t say anything. He instructed the driver in the front, "Let’s go."
The driver, without asking where to, drove straight to Varden Villa.
Maxim was the first to get out of the car, walked around to Summer’s side, took her hand, and led her toward the house.
Summer looked back and saw that the driver had handed her suitcase over to a maid.
The maid carried the suitcase straight into the house. By the time Summer went in, the maid who had been handling her suitcase was nowhere to be found.
Seeing Summer staring blankly at the stairs, Butler Sutton came over and smiled, "Young Madam, you must be exhausted. We’ve already run a hot bath for you upstairs. You may want to relax and take a bath first."
Maxim gently touched her cheek with a soft tone, "Why don’t you go upstairs and rest for a while? If you don’t feel like coming down, I can have someone bring your meal up."
Summer looked at him briefly, said nothing, and silently headed up the stairs.
On the second floor, the room belonging to Maxim Sinclair, which was also where Summer had been trapped before, stood open. Two or three maids were going in and out, carrying all sorts of things.
Seeing Summer arrive, the leading maid smiled, "Young Madam, your luggage has been arranged for you. The room next door is your dressing room, prepared specially for you by the young master."
Summer ignored everyone, went in, opened her suitcase, took out her toiletries, and stepped into the adjacent bathroom.
The three maids in the room exchanged glances. The slightly older one shook her head and whispered, "We better leave first. Young Madam looks like she’s in a bad mood today."
At the door, they ran into Maxim coming upstairs. The three maids nodded in greeting.
Maxim glanced into the room through the open door and asked, "Where is she?"
The maids understood he was asking about Summer. One of them replied, "Young Madam looks tired, so she went into the bathroom to freshen up."
"Got it, have the kitchen prepare some light food and bring it up in forty minutes."
"Yes, sir." Maxim walked into the room, removed his tie, and after a moment of thought, directly pushed open the bathroom door and entered.
In the bathtub, Summer opened her eyes upon hearing the movement, looking expressionlessly at Maxim, who had entered uninvited, without saying a word.
Since picking her up today, Maxim still hadn’t heard Summer say a single word.
Maxim, his displeasure apparent, walked over, leaned on the edge of the bathtub, and softly asked, "Are you upset?"
"Satisfied now?" Summer replied coldly.
Hearing this, Maxim’s discomfort deepened.
The tone of Summer’s voice just now left him inexplicably uneasy.
Maxim shook his head to dismiss the unsettling thoughts, reached out to clasp her chin, forcing Summer to look at him, "Don’t speak to me in that tone."
"Alright." Summer agreed readily, without a hint of resistance.
But the more she behaved this way, the more alarmed Maxim felt.
Maxim awkwardly released her, stood up, and for once found himself at a loss, staring at Summer crouched in the bathtub.
After a while, Maxim placed his hand on his belt, pretending to join Summer in the bath.
Seeing him do this, Summer finally reacted, shrinking her body and watching Maxim with wary eyes.
Seeing her reaction, Maxim felt slightly better. He pulled out the loosened belt, held it in his hand, and with the other hand gently touched Summer’s forehead, "Look at you, frightened. I never said I’d wash with you."
With that, Maxim left the bathroom in high spirits.
Downstairs, Butler Sutton had just finished reprimanding two maids gossiping about Summer. Upon entering the room, he saw Maxim descending the stairs.
Butler Sutton approached him, "The kitchen has some porridge warming. I’m not sure what dishes the Young Madam prefers, so I can have the kitchen prepare accordingly."
"She’s from Leonia. Tomorrow, find a cook who can make Leonia dishes and have them prepare meals for the Young Madam." Maxim walked to the table and poured himself a glass of water.
After noting his instructions, Butler Sutton leaned closer to Maxim and quietly reminded him, "Young Master Sinclair and Miss Sinclair arrived in Stellarion this afternoon. The moment they arrived, they went straight to the old residence to visit the Old Sir."
Maxim drank his water expressionlessly, "I knew about this. The moment they booked their flights, someone abroad informed me. No need to worry."
"Just in case, should we move the Old Sir back to the nursing home? The Old Sir has become more forgiving with age, and I’m concerned that Young Master Sinclair and Miss Sinclair might persuade him to do things against you."
"No, Grandpa no longer involves himself with matters of the Sinclair Family. Now, I call the shots in the Sinclair Family. Those small fry can’t cause any waves."
"Yes, as long as you have a plan, young master."
Maxim stood downstairs for a while before returning to the room.
Inside, Summer, having finished her bath, was crouched in front of her suitcase, organizing things.
Maxim walked over, bent slightly, and asked, "Dinner’s ready. Want to join me downstairs to eat?"
Summer nodded, stood up, and walked out on her own.
Maxim, feeling slighted, touched his nose and smiled helplessly.
He could guess why Summer was acting this way towards him.
She probably blamed him for the incident at Stellart.
Maxim thought this might be for the best, as it could help Summer see what kind of place Stellart truly was, even though she was loyal to it. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
After dinner, Summer ignored the other person at the table, got up, and went to the garden for a walk to aid digestion.
Butler Sutton noticed the tension and inquired, "Is the food not to the Young Madam’s taste?"
"No, she enjoys these dishes. I’ve taken her to eat them before," Maxim shook his head and slowly continued his meal. Seeing Butler Sutton’s concern, he explained, "It’s not about the food. She’s upset with me. No need to pay attention; she’ll come around in a few days."
Maxim focused on eating, not noticing Summer silently leaving the living room after changing shoes at the entrance.
In the garden, Maxim found Summer staring blankly at the sky and draped a jacket over her shoulders, "Regarding that studio I told you about, all the paperwork is done, and the staff are in place. We’re just waiting for you to be there."
