Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 72: Noah Firmly Refuses Summer Lowell’s Resignation
Summer Lowell shook her head gently: "President Norris, don’t forget, it was the two S-grade projects that got messed up first, the rumors came later; the shareholders at headquarters won’t get this sequence wrong."
"You don’t need to worry about that!" Noah laughed heartily, "Since we can find out that someone is maliciously spreading rumors, we can naturally deduce that the failure of these two projects is also related to those competitors."
"Competitors," Summer Lowell chewed over those four words, then belatedly asked about another issue she was more concerned about, "So have we found out who bribed people in our company?"
"Of course!" Noah laughed again, "Didn’t you notice, I was in a great mood when calling you today?"
Summer Lowell played along and laughed twice, then continued the conversation: "I heard, so which competitor is it, using such underhanded tactics behind our backs?"
Speaking of this, Noah’s tone showed a hint of gnashing of teeth: "This person is not unfamiliar to you, they’ve been an age-old rival of Stellart, last year we defeated them in three projects, and they vowed to get back at us."
Upon hearing this result, Summer Lowell’s heart sank, somewhat in disbelief: "You can’t mean that company headquartered abroad, like us, that opened a branch in Stellarion, Joyelle Jewelers?"
"Who else but them?" Noah hummed twice and continued, "The evidence is solid; your dedication to handling two S-grade projects has spread in the jewelry design circle, and Joyelle Jewelers had three key designers poached by the Sinclair Group at that time. They felt upset, envying the fact that I have such a great designer like you, so they deliberately took the opportunity to muddy the waters."
Initially suspecting Maxim Sinclair of spreading the rumors, Summer Lowell was dumbfounded: "This development is rather unexpected to me." 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Noah, unaware of her thoughts, sneered twice on his own: "I’ve already sent the evidence to the president of Joyelle Jewelers, asking whether they want to settle it privately or publicly. They better show an apologetic gesture, or else, I’ll make them lose face in Stellarion!"
Not particularly interested in Joyelle Jewelers, Summer Lowell remained silent for a while before cautiously asking the excited Noah on the other side of the call: "Even though the rumors were spread by Joyelle Jewelers, the damage to the competition piece and the seizure of the Four Seasons project by the Sinclair Group has nothing to do with them!"
Although the rumor-spreading incident had been traced back and was unrelated to Maxim Sinclair.
But on the day of the competition, after discovering the damage to the piece, Summer questioned Maxim Sinclair.
And he didn’t even refute it.
Especially within a day or two, the Sinclair Group had seized the Four Seasons project.
Joyelle Jewelers was indeed a bystander taking advantage of the situation, but Summer felt that the real threat was still the Sinclair Group, especially Maxim Sinclair.
Unable to resist, she spoke to Noah on the other end of the phone: "President Norris, maybe I should resign. Maxim Sinclair clearly still holds a grudge over the time I went undercover by his side to steal information. As long as I am here, he won’t stop targeting our company; only when I leave can we ensure the design department’s future projects proceed smoothly."
After hearing what she said, Noah immediately rejected her suggestion: "You’ve contributed greatly to the company; we can’t just discard you like that!"
"But, President Norris, we lost two S-grade projects last week in one go; no matter how strong the company is, it can’t withstand such a blow!"
Perhaps due to illness, Summer’s voice was calm and gentle, no longer as sharp as before.
Listening to this, Noah felt even more reluctant to abandon her.
"What you mentioned are just your suspicions; from what I know of Maxim Sinclair, he wouldn’t damage your competition piece—could there be some misunderstanding here."
"Even if there’s a misunderstanding," Summer Lowell brought up the project that was seized, "it’s clear that the Four Seasons project was seized by the Sinclair Group, and there’s no misunderstanding about that."
"Strangely enough," Noah scratched around his ear, baffled, "from what I understood, the Sinclair Group was planning to abandon the Four Seasons project; they had disbanded the special team they set up for it half a month ago. So why the sudden change now?"
Similarly puzzled, Summer Lowell let out a bitter laugh: "This irregular move must have been directed by Maxim Sinclair himself."
Noah initially wanted to refute, but then recalled Summer Lowell had worked by Maxim’s side for a year; rumors even suggest a past relationship between them, although that’s unconfirmed.
But in terms of understanding Maxim Sinclair, trusting Summer Lowell’s words seemed more prudent.
Thoughtful, he considered it briefly and then asked Summer with a measured tone: "Just casually asking, based on your understanding of him, under what circumstances would he make such decisions?"
This question left Summer a bit dumbfounded, taking some time to answer.
"When I used to work as his assistant, I never saw him make such decisions; this is purely based on intuition. He’s always calm, never doing anything that harms company interests unless someone really upset him, in which case he would act out of spite disregarding company interests."
"Acting out of spite, disregarding interest?" Noah murmured this twice before letting out a long sigh: "If that’s the case, this matter indeed seems tricky."
"Yes!" Summer Lowell weakly echoed him, having realized the reality, she even considered giving up entirely, "So really, letting me go would be beneficial and harmless to the company."
"That’s not possible," Noah firmly stuck to his stance, "Firing you, where would I find such an excellent designer—someone who can handle such situations, excellent designers like you are hard to come by!"
Summer Lowell silently smiled, nonchalant as she replied: "Two-legged frogs are everywhere, a designer like me is nothing special, staying with the company only invites scrutiny from industry big shots like Maxim Sinclair, which isn’t good for the company’s domestic development. For long-term interests, I advise you to dismiss me promptly."
Despite Summer’s earnest attempt at persuasion, Noah was unsatisfied: "Are you deliberately wanting to leave, and trying to provoke me into dismissing you?"
Without such intentions, simply weary of decisions, Summer promptly denied: "Of course not, I just feel a bit indecisive, unsure whether to stay or go."
