Contract Marriage: Abusive Love with Mr.CEO-Chapter 681 - 354: Skyler Jones and Christine Quinn Are Officially Married_2
Howard Geoffrey gently lifted his beloved son onto his lap and softly asked, "You only miss Mommy, not Daddy?"
"Andrew misses Daddy too."
"That’s more like it..."
Mrs. Geoffrey stood nearby, watching this warm scene with satisfaction.
After the family happily enjoyed lunch together, Mrs. Geoffrey came out of the dining room.
"Becca, where’s Howard?"
Rebecca Quentin was in the living room playing stacking blocks with Andrew on the sofa. Upon hearing Mrs. Geoffrey’s voice, she quickly set down the blocks and approached to support Mrs. Geoffrey, replying with a smile, "I sent him off to the company."
"Silly girl, if you don’t let him stay with you now, you’ll complain later when he’s busy with work all the time and can’t find time for you."
"It’s fine, I have Andrew!" Rebecca Quentin replied lightly.
Mrs. Geoffrey chuckled and pulled Rebecca Quentin down to sit on the sofa, "Now I am truly at ease with you and Howard. Seeing your love and happiness makes me happier than anything else. But..."
Rebecca Quentin noticed a hint of worry in Mrs. Geoffrey’s brown eyes and asked concernedly, "What is it?"
"Do you remember last time I talked to you in the video about Oversky and Christine?"
Rebecca Quentin nodded, "Is the news about my sister and Mr. Jones getting married true?"
"Yes, though you probably guessed it; they got married only for Marie."
"Did Mr. Jones suggest it to my sister?"
Mrs. Geoffrey nodded and then recounted the whole story to Rebecca Quentin.
It turns out that over a month ago, Christine Quinn was planning to leave Y City as she had originally planned and live alone.
But on the day Christine was supposed to leave, somehow Marie found out...
Marie saw her mother dragging luggage to leave and cried terribly...
Christine couldn’t bear to see Marie in tears, so she stayed. However, because of this incident, Marie began to doubt her parents’ relationship.
One day, Marie asked her father and mother directly, "Daddy and Mommy, you aren’t together, are you?"
Marie’s question caught Skyler Jones and Christine Quinn off guard.
Seeing their reaction, Marie realized her parents had been deceiving her all along and finally ran back to her room in tears...
Marie’s health was already under observation, and emotional fluctuations could easily affect her heartbeat and trigger rejection responses...
Christine had no choice but to appease Marie, saying she and Skyler were just having a spat, and the luggage was for a trip to clear her mind, not leaving Skyler.
Marie was no longer a naive child and didn’t believe Christine’s explanation unless her parents got married right away...
Christine was very worried about Marie’s health and didn’t dare to tell her the truth about her and Skyler’s situation. When Marie demanded marriage as proof, Christine was at a loss.
Later, Skyler entered the room to comfort Marie...
Christine retreated from the room, leaving the difficult situation for Skyler to resolve.
But soon after, Skyler emerged from the room carrying Marie and said to her, "We’re going to register right now."
And so, Skyler Jones and Christine Quinn got their marriage certificate and became husband and wife.
The Flowery Kingdom, Y City.
On the bustling streets, a beautiful mother and daughter pair leisurely strolled together.
Marilyn Quinn linked arms with her mother, happily saying, "Mommy, it’s been ages since I went shopping with you."
"If you like, Mommy can accompany you out every weekend."
Marilyn, whose height was already nearing Christine Quinn’s shoulder, cuddled closer to her mother, "Mommy, I’m so happy."
"Hmm?"
"I no longer have to worry about you and Daddy splitting up."
"Silly girl, you were just overthinking it. Daddy and Mommy have always been together!"
Marilyn nodded, "Our family of three will always be together."
Christine bent down to kiss her daughter, "Alright, my little adult, don’t be so sentimental at such a young age."
Marilyn smiled and changed the subject, "Mommy, are Auntie and Uncle Geoffrey still vacationing on Foam Island?"
"Yes, not sure when they’ll return!"
"Uncle Geoffrey really loves Auntie."
Christine tilted her head, "You little gremlin, what are you plotting now?"
Marilyn gazed hopefully at her mother, "I want Daddy to put aside work and accompany Mommy to play for a while too."
Christine felt slightly embarrassed, "Your Daddy clinched the Dubai project a few months ago, so he’s busy now and can’t take Mommy on vacation."
"But Daddy said he’s free lately!"
Did Skyler say this to Marilyn?
Christine was quite puzzled inside, but outwardly she replied nonchalantly, "Well then, if Daddy has time to accompany me on vacation, we’ll go!"
"Yay..."
Christine pursed her lips into a smile. That Skyler would agree to go on vacation with Marilyn was... a bit unimaginable.
At noon.
Christine glanced at the clock on the wall and said to the ravenously hungry Marilyn, who was close to eating her shirt, "You should eat first, don’t wait and get too hungry."
Marilyn crossed her arms on the table and obediently said, "I want to wait for Daddy to come back and eat together."
For over a month, Skyler had been returning home promptly after work every day. Normally, he returned a bit after twelve, but today it was almost one and he still hadn’t arrived.
"Alright, go call Daddy and ask when he’ll be back."
"Okay."
As Marilyn stood up, a servant stationed at the dining room entrance respectfully called out, "Mr. Jones."
The next second, Skyler Jones strode in with steady footsteps from outside.
"Daddy!"
Marilyn joyfully hugged her father.
Skyler ruffled the small bangs on Marilyn’s forehead and said with his usual deep voice filled with affection, "I heard you and Mommy went shopping all day today?"
"Yes, Mommy and I bought lots of things, and she even got a gift for Daddy."
Christine, who was drinking water, was almost choked by her daughter’s words.
How could her daughter say such nonsense? It was Marilyn who tugged her into a men’s clothing store, and she only bought a tie for Skyler out of sheer necessity, with no intention of giving it to him.
Christine laughed dryly twice, "Yes... yes, later we’ll see if you like it."
