Contract Marriage: Boss, Let's divorce-Chapter 937 - 936: No Turning Back (Part 4)
Shi Che and Ling Chuxia went to the trial. She looked at Xiao Chen’s calm and expressionless face, and her eyes unconsciously scanned the audience, searching for the figure of Ling Yunshu, yet she never saw him.
The sentencing results were announced: the person who was stabbed did not die, so Xiao Chen was sentenced to thirteen years.
Although it wasn’t the death penalty, these thirteen years are a considerable punishment. How many thirteen years does a person’s life have?
He had created a prison for Ling Yunshu, yet Ling Yunshu had never treasured his heart.
The trial ended, and as the officers were taking Xiao Chen back, his gaze instinctively swept across the audience but only for a fleeting moment.
Ling Chuxia noticed Xiao Chen’s action and sighed softly.
Shi Che held Ling Chuxia as they walked out of the courthouse. The wind was a bit strong, and Ling Chuxia’s body involuntarily shivered. Shi Che quickly reached out to embrace her, pulling her into his arms, his hands wrapping around her small hands, "Cold?"
Ling Chuxia nodded, "Cold." But soon, she shook her head, "But with you by my side, it’s warm."
Shi Che’s lips curved into a smile, and he gently pinched her nose tip. Ling Chuxia squinted her eyes and smiled.
Old Zhu drove the car over. Shi Che opened the car door, placing his palm on her head, and gently assisted her into the car. Then he got in after her, closed the door, and Old Zhu started the car and left.
After the car left, a slender figure slowly emerged from behind a large tree. She was extremely thin, so thin that her clothes hung loosely on her body, slightly billowing in the wind.
Her gaze followed the departing car intently until it disappeared from view. Only then did she lower her eyes, but in their depths was nothing but a cold hatred.
-
Time turned like the pages of a book. As winter gradually drew to a close, spring arrived, bringing a new year, and Ling Chuxia’s belly swelled up like a balloon.
Ling Chuxia looked at her round belly in disbelief.
Since becoming pregnant, her hands and feet didn’t gain weight, and her limbs remained slender. She never expected her belly would grow so big; it felt as if a large balloon was stuffed inside, causing her to only sleep on her side without turning over easily. The more she thought about it, the more she complained to Shi Che, "It’s all your fault. It’s so hard for me to even turn over."
Thinking about how light and graceful she used to be.
Ling Chuxia was now near her due date, and with her big belly, turning over was naturally difficult.
At times, seeing her like that, Shi Che felt uncomfortable himself, repeatedly nodding, "Yes, yes, it’s all my fault."
Ling Chuxia initially felt a bit resentful, but seeing Shi Che like that, she couldn’t help but smile.
She felt that the larger her belly grew, the softer Shi Che’s temper became. He used to tease her often, but now he treated her like an Empress Dowager, agreeing to whatever she said.
Ling Chuxia’s dark eyes spun mischievously, then she smiled sweetly at Shi Che and asked, "Shi Che, do you think Little Shizi sounds nicer, or Little Chezi?"
Shi Che was taken aback by Ling Chuxia’s sudden question and replied, "Are you picking a name for our baby?"
Ling Chuxia shook her head and said, "I’m choosing a name for you."
