Contract Marriage: Let's Make It Real, Mrs. Sterling!-Chapter 377 - 376: Who Exactly Is the Woman Beside Him?
The staff member looked at the photo, then blankly turned to Cameron Grant and asked, "Cameron, what should we do?"
Should we clarify or just make an official statement?
Cameron was so worried his head was about to explode. He never thought they’d get snapped at this time.
Originally, he thought that since Jensen Sterling was off filming, he could take a break for a while. Who would’ve thought such trending news would suddenly pop up?
Initially, he wondered which media outlet was so bold that they didn’t even inform him before publishing it.
But once he understood the whole story...
Cameron: "..."
It wasn’t that they didn’t contact his studio, but rather, those people didn’t know the photo was of Jensen Sterling.
Everything was dug up by fans.
This is simply unbelievable!
And when the media saw that trending topic, they almost lost it.
"Damn it, who leaked the news about Jensen Sterling? Didn’t anyone think to notify us first?"
Jensen Sterling’s status in the circle is undeniable, not to mention the Sterling Family, who can afford to mess with them!
The employee nervously and tearfully said, "Boss, I really didn’t know."
"A few days ago, the paparazzi sent over some photos. We were going to expose a different celebrity’s scandal, and these were included, so we just posted them. Who knew Jensen Sterling was in there too?"
If I had known those photos included Jensen Sterling, even if you gave me ten times the courage, I wouldn’t have dared post them on my own.
The boss was also stunned. This... is like seeing a ghost.
Normally, it’s impossible to get a photo or even a candid shot of Jensen Sterling, and now you’re telling me these photos were taken unintentionally?
And because no one recognized Jensen Sterling in them, they casually sent the photos over.
If the photos hadn’t been published and stayed in their hands, he’d think they hit the jackpot with an opportunity like this.
They could have sold the photos to Jensen Sterling’s studio and gained a favor in return.
Now, there’s no talk of favors; they’re in deep trouble.
They’re just a small media outlet. If Jensen Sterling decided to handle them, it would be a piece of cake.
The boss was so stressed he nearly tore out the last few strands of his hair.
Finally, he nervously made a call to Jensen Sterling’s side.
With a forced smile: "Hello, Cameron? It’s me."
"I’m really sorry about the trending topic. Our staff didn’t realize. We received those photos a few days ago and didn’t check carefully to see Teacher Jensen in them before posting. Really sorry, do you need us to help clarify?"
By the end, his voice was almost a whisper, afraid they’d hold them accountable.
Cameron actually wanted to, but he knew it wasn’t their fault. He took a deep breath and controlled his impulses.
"No need, just be careful next time."
His mind was occupied with handling the issue, not wasting time arguing with them.
So after a couple of polite words, he hung up the call.
He clutched his phone and turned to ask the staff member beside him, "How’s it going, did the call get through?"
Staff member: "No."
If this trending topic involved someone else, there’d be no hesitation; it’d be clarified immediately, maybe even with a lawyer’s letter.
But the problem is this concerns Mia Sutton, their actual boss lady.
So this isn’t about a scandal; it’s about whether to disclose Jensen Sterling and Mia Sutton’s marriage.
Since they couldn’t decide, they needed to ask Jensen. Unfortunately, they couldn’t reach him by phone, so they didn’t dare post on Weibo hastily.
Cameron’s head was pounding. After nearly half an hour trying to call, which went unanswered and then shut off, he was at the brink of madness.
Slumped back in the boss’s chair, he said, defeated, "Forget it. Don’t post on Weibo, control the comments so things don’t get out of hand. We’ll deal with it after we get in touch tomorrow."
Without contacting anyone, there was no other option; they just had to play deaf and dumb.
The online chatter continued unabated, with people starting to dig into who that woman was.
[Could it be that new popular actress? The height seems about right.]
[The outfit covers too much, it’s hard to identify.]
[Could it be an actress from Jensen Sterling’s current film crew? They’re in the same hotel, pretty likely.]
Everyone was throwing in their two cents, all discussing who this person might be, but despite naming plenty, there was no conclusion.
Some did mention Mia Sutton, given the ship fans from their two projects were sizeable.
But shortly after, she was ruled out. [It couldn’t be Mia Sutton. This person is taller and has a different build, plus her group just finished a concert and left the city.]
It’s no wonder they couldn’t recognize her; Mia was wearing height-enhancing shoes, making her a few centimeters taller than usual. Plus, due to the chilly evening, she had dressed warm and wrapped herself up thoroughly.
So it was truly a beautiful misunderstanding.
...
As time ticked by, unable to guess the identity, netizens redirected their focus to the studio’s Weibo.
[When will the PR team respond? It’s been ages and no clarifying post yet!]
[Can’t you be more efficient? Is your pay going to waste?]
The PR department was close to tears. It’s not that they didn’t want to post, or lacked efficiency; they genuinely couldn’t reach anyone.
They now realized how easy they’d had it before. Teacher Jensen had almost no scandals, leaving them with very little real work, sometimes even chatting about how busy other PR teams were and how relaxed they were.
Now their easy days were over, and they realized wages come with responsibilities. If not today, then someday.
Now they were paying their dues, working through tears.
Though they hadn’t posted on Weibo, the PR team continued managing the platform’s heat and trends.
After a night passed, the buzz wasn’t as hot as the previous evening, but it still trended on Weibo.
...
Jensen Sterling only saw the news the next morning. The night before, his phone died and didn’t get charged, and with Mia Sutton’s phone turned off by him, they were both oblivious to the situation.
Mia Sutton was still sound asleep next to him. No wonder, they had stayed up too late last night.
Jensen leaned against the bed, reading the news on his phone, his eyes deep and contemplative, then he tapped open Weibo.
When it loaded, the phone even lagged for a few seconds, his DMs flooded with messages, mentions, everything crammed in.
After skimming through, he opened Weibo and started typing, tapping his fingers on the screen.
Soon, he hit send.
