Chapter 77: 077: I can do whatever you want (1 more)
The air was thick with a looming tension, as if something was on the verge of happening.
Yet, no one took it further, and time seemed to freeze. Quan Yu’s well-defined knuckles glided across Ning Guiwan’s cheek, finally pinching the tip of her chin.
Her slender body was fully enveloped in his embrace.
Ning Guiwan placed her hands on his shoulders.
Due to the man’s pressing, she leaned back from her waist, her long, curly hair dangling behind her.
Her heartbeat was fast and chaotic.
"Have you thought it through?"
His thin lips slowly approached her ear, his breath warm against her skin as he spoke.
"I’ll give you one more chance. Once the game starts, there’s no stopping it. Are you sure you can handle it?"
His tone was cold, forceful, and dangerous.
His gaze from above was full of restraint and control.
He was like a beast on the hunt: crouched low, suppressing its desire to devour its prey. He was merely waiting for the right moment to spring forward, fiercely seize the prey’s throat, and leave no chance for struggle or escape.
Ning Guiwan looked at him. Her mind was in turmoil. But her face displayed a bright, calm smile; her beautiful eyes held a myriad of charms.
Her fingertips rubbed against the fabric of his polo shirt, back and forth.
"As long as Grandma Quan doesn’t find out..." She tilted her face up, her breath fragrant. "Whatever you want, I can—"
Before she could finish her sentence, Quan Yu suddenly leaned in.
A wave of dizziness washed over Ning Guiwan. This man certainly had a lot of ways to kiss, she thought.
It was a long while before Quan Yu seemed satisfied.
"Let’s have dinner together tonight," he said, straightening up and pulling Ning Guiwan up from the hood of the car.
Ning Guiwan’s hair was somewhat disheveled.
Quan Yu raised his hand, wanting to tidy it for her.
However, Ning Guiwan dodged back hurriedly, her reluctance clear.
Quan Yu’s hand paused mid-air. He watched her silently, neither speaking nor withdrawing his hand.
His gaze was deep and faintly cold.
The dim yellow light fell from the side, outlining his clearly defined knuckles, his hands long and attractive, like a perfect silhouette.
Ning Guiwan smoothed her hair and lifted her face in a smile. Her swollen lips looked even more seductively luscious. "I’ll go find Lai Yang first."
Quan Yu continued to watch her, silent, his hand still raised.
Ning Guiwan pursed her lips.
Thinking of the agreement they had just reached, and her own words, "Whatever you want, I can..."
After a moment of silent standoff, Ning Guiwan moved forward, letting his fingers just touch her hair.
Quan Yu’s expression remained impassive. His fingers combed through her hair a few times before he finally spoke, his tone flat, "Go ahead."
Ning Guiwan took the elevator to the first floor.
As the elevator doors opened, a person stood outside.
Extremely tall and robust, he stood with his back to the elevator, his suit crisp, legs apart, hands clasped behind him, like a Gatekeeper.
Ning Guiwan paused. "Xu Ruogu?" Her tone was uncertain.
Not far away, a man and a woman, who had been about to leave, turned their heads at the sound of the elevator. The woman was young and beautiful, clinging to the arm of a portly middle-aged man.
"Didn’t they say the elevator was broken and under maintenance? How could she use it?" the woman said, looking at Ning Guiwan with displeasure.
The Gatekeeper kept a straight face. "It’s fixed now."
"What does that mean? Are you playing games?" The woman was aggressive. She was about to say more when the middle-aged man beside her held her back.
"What are you doing? Didn’t you see him bullying me?" the woman snapped.
The middle-aged man’s face darkened. He spoke lowly, "That man seems to be Quan Yu’s bodyguard."
"So what if he’s Quan Yu’s bodyguard? Look at you, Quan—" The woman continued, then, as if realizing something, she paused, her mouth agape. "Quan Yu of Ruiyin?"
The middle-aged man, who held some standing in Shencheng, nodded. There weren’t many bodyguards whose mere presence could elicit such a terrified expression from him.
The woman fell silent, warily glancing towards the elevator entrance again. No wonder the old man by her side had been so polite to the Gatekeeper...
The Gatekeeper paid no mind to their discussion. His gaze fixed on Ning Guiwan, his expression impassive, yet his tone conveyed respect. "I am Xu Ruohuai, Miss Ning."
Among Quan Yu’s bodyguards was a set of identical twins whom Ning Guiwan had always struggled to tell apart.
Ning Guiwan glanced at the couple not far away, then looked towards Xu Ruohuai.
She pursed her lips and, after a moment, turned and walked toward the door.
No wonder. She’d been with that man in the underground parking lot for so long, and she hadn’t seen a single soul. He had arranged everything before their meeting; he seemed to know exactly what she wanted to discuss.
Ning Guiwan’s lips tightened further. This feeling of being controlled was awful.
