Cornered by the CEO-Chapter 404: Qian Mengs Fear Came True
Chapter 404: Qian Meng's Fear Came True
"President Yun?" she called. She had heard the call end.
"What is it?" he snapped, awfully grumpy.
"Sir, it is getting late. Why don't you get some sleep?" she asked.
He raised his voice so that everyone outside could hear him. "With those bastards sitting outside and plotting against me, how can I go to sleep?" he fumed.
The secretary pressed her lips together to stop herself from laughing. That was the whole point of the protest. To make him unable to sleep like he was making it hard for them to sleep at night.
"I will be right outside. Please rest your worries and get some sleep. Your health is of absolute priority, President." She gave him a small bow to appease his anger.
Yun Sui Bo contemplated on the issue for a moment before nodding.
"You can sleep on the couch. They won't allow you to leave the room. Unfortunately, we don't have any blankets or pillows to aid you. I will have to inconvenience you to put up with this for some time," she said promptly.
Actually, they had pillows and blankets in the employees' lounge, but she wouldn't allow him to rest easy even if he did sleep. f𝐫𝑒𝗲𝙬𝒆𝚋𝐧૦𝘃𝗲l.c𝚘𝘮
Mr. Yun huffed and raged about how impertinent employees were when he was the one putting food in their mouths.
Entitlement in billionaires was common, but rarely did one come out and boast about how a minuscule part of his money was feeding others.
'Making the economy better, my foot.'
She watched him settle into the couch and look absolutely uncomfortable. She placed a bottle of water on the desk for him to have at night and taking advantage of his closed but tense eyes, she put his phone on silent. It wouldn't even vibrate.
'Have an excellent night of sleep!' she thought cheerfully.
A panicked thought that this action would get her fired crossed her mind, but then she eased back. She was going to lose her job anyway if the company went down, might as well get on the good side of an actually good employer while she was at it.

Qian Meng got into her car just like the day before and rode to the office. The car from the day before was back and seeing that her father hadn't rage called her, this man had either not sent the photos or Li Min's secretary friend hadn't informed her father about the incoming email.
She was satisfied with either of those options.
"How long do you think this car will follow us?" Qian Meng asked in a bored voice, knowing the answer to it herself.
The bodyguard remained silent but looked at the rear-view mirror to check on Mrs. No's expression.
She looked mildly bored.
"Do you want me to lose him?" he asked.
Qian Meng shook her head. "I don't want to lose him," she joked. "I am more interested in keeping a low profile for now. Only giving him the information I want to give."
She flipped through the papers in front of her. It was the progress plans of 1314 that Mo Qingchen had handed to her. She read through it silently and was appeased by the progress. After this storm passed, 1314 would be her priority for some time. Seeing the independent progress Mo Qingchen was making, she knew she wouldn't have to fret about it too much.
She closed the file and put it inside her bag. She would catch some sleep before getting to work.
Li Wenyue was spearheading talks with the shareholders, using her name to do it. Most of the other shareholders were calling her in a panic to make sure they were not being fed lies by the Yun Corporation. While all of this happened in relative silence, Qian Meng's phone blew up since Li Wenyue started to speak.
He was garnering power from other shareholders, but in reality, they were supporting Qian Meng in this battle. Li Wenyue didn't seem to realize that yet.
Despite this, Qian Meng was fine. She could monitor what Li Wenyue said without needing a spy at his side.
He didn't have a good reputation at the moment, so he could only use her. It was the perfect weapon for him, who had no reputation of his own to work from. On the other hand, her name was unsettling the shareholders. In such turbulent times, they saw a ray of hope and flocked to her. They were in a horrible dilemma. To choose the old man who was making mistakes or the fresh young woman who had made a name for herself.
The answer was simple.
She was busy looking over her work when Li Jun's call came in.
"Tell me," she prompted, holding her phone between her ear and shoulder as she typed out an important email on her laptop.
"The transfer has been successfully made. You, as the buyer remained anonymous. We will progress with the financials and get everything in order within two hours," Li Jun informed.
"Excellent," Qian Meng exclaimed. Her fingers stopped over her keyboard and she grinned brightly. She now had 26 percent control over Yun Corporation, which was one percent less than her father. But with the support of the other shareholders, she would be able to walk in like she owned the place.
For a moment, she thought about how easy it was to manipulate the shareholders and feared that her father would pull a trick and get them on his side.
But it was okay. That might just make it more fun for her. She would see it as a challenge. It might increase her hatred for Mr. Yun and therefore make it sweeter when she saw his world crumble around him.
It was around five that evening that Li Min sprinted into her room, looking worried out of her mind. f𝑟𝑒ewe𝚋𝚗૦𝐯e𝘭.c𝗼𝓂
"Boss, I have bad news!" she exclaimed.
Qian Meng looked up from her work and stared at Li Min in surprise. "What has gotten you like this?" she asked, perplexed.
"What we feared happened," Li Min said.
