Criminal X : Epitome Of Evil-Chapter 350: Last Flame
Chapter 350: Last Flame
Luther stabbed Pablo’s chest.
Pablo didn’t see it coming as the purple light blinded him.
But he surely felt the pain.
However, when Luther spoke beside his ear, Pablo instinctively moved a little to the side.
And as a result...
’I stopped my death by a hair’s breadth.’
Pablo’s instinct saved his heart from getting pierced.
Otherwise, he would have ended up just like Ted.
Luther’s sword only stabbed Pablo’s chest, missing his heart by a small margin.
He opened his eyes again but closed them instantly.
The light was too much.
"I will kill you. I will kill you."
Luther was in a trance. His sole goal became Pablo’s death.
Pablo didn’t have the upper hand right now, and he had to do something if he didn’t want to die.
The sword was still stuck in his chest, and before Luther could take it out, Pablo used the only thing he could.
’Use it. Use both of them.’
Pablo let go of Colt, which was in his right hand, and then placed that hand on Luther’s face.
[ Mimesis Malefica In Use! ]
Pablo used his Black-ranked Ego, and not only that, he commanded the system to use both Egoes.
And by both Egoes, he meant...
[ Copied Ego: Blood Healer, In Use! ]
The Ego he copied from Ted as well.
On one side, Pablo focused on Luther’s memories. On the other side, Pablo’s chest began to heal.
His insides started reconstructing themselves.
Meanwhile, Luther paid no attention to Pablo’s hand on his face. He just wanted Pablo dead.
"I will fuck you up so bad you will beg for death."
Luther held the handle of his sword.
He pulled it.
It didn’t come out.
It was still in Pablo’s chest.
He applied more pressure, but the sword didn’t budge at all.
Pablo smiled, his eyes still closed. "It’s now a part of my body, Marshal. It’s mine now."
Pablo healed himself while the sword was still pierced in his chest. So of course it didn’t come out.
He could only think of that because, at the moment, he couldn’t see, and an unseen sword attack would really kill him.
Therefore, he decided not to let Luther take back his sword, and now the Second Marshal really couldn’t retrieve it.
And if that wasn’t enough...
[ Ego Successfully Copied! ]
[ You copied this Ego for the first time! ]
[ You can keep this Ego for twelve hours! ]
[ A large amount of life force taken from the Target! ]
’Now.’
Pablo removed his hand from Luther’s face and stretched it outward.
"Draxus! A knife," he shouted.
SWISS!
A knife came flying and landed in Pablo’s outstretched palm.
He gripped it and prepared himself to open his eyes.
"I hate disco lights."
He shot his eyes open in one go, and in just a second, he located the exact spot where he had to stab.
Then he closed his eyes again, and with no hesitation, Pablo gripped the knife tightly.
Before Luther could dodge or even move to the side...
PLUCK!
Pablo stabbed one glowing eye of Luther.
Then, without waiting for anything, he stabbed Luther’s other eye as well.
"Hah!"
Pablo let out a tired sigh and finally, with no fear, opened his eyes.
"No lights, finally."
Luther’s eyes bled, and the purple lights vanished.
"Sadly, I can’t kill you. I need you to be the killer. And my skin probably didn’t peel off because I never really looked into your eyes. Must be the condition of your Ego."
"I can still kill you, boy. I don’t rely on my eyes," Luther said. He never cried out in pain, even after losing both his eyes.
But Pablo just smiled.
"You can’t kill me anymore. And I won’t let you defend yourself either."
"What do you mea—"
"Colt," Pablo called his sword.
The weapon, lying on the ground, hovered in the air and placed itself in Pablo’s left hand.
Luther couldn’t see anything, but the next second, he felt Pablo’s hand on his mouth.
Luther had no idea what Pablo was doing, and he didn’t want to find out either.
So Luther raised his hand to punch Pablo.
But Pablo was faster.
He shoved his right hand inside Luther’s mouth, grabbed his tongue, and yanked it out.
Then, with his left hand, he swung Colt and did what he had done many times to many people.
SHRILL!
He cut off Luther’s tongue.
But Luther didn’t seem to care.
His hand was still raised, gathering all his strength into his fist, ready to land a smoking-hot punch on Pablo’s face.
But Pablo saw ahead of it all.
Before the punch could connect, Pablo himself jumped back and fell down beside Ted.
Now he and Ted were lying side by side, and Pablo still had a sword stuck in his chest.
Pablo groaned in pain as if the punch had really landed.
Ted was still alive, and before he could use the last of his strength to ask something...
CLICK!
The lights of Ground 0 lit up.
Footsteps resounded across Ground 0, and Pablo had already heard them approaching from far away—before anyone else. His vampiric senses were always there for him.
And that was also why Pablo decided to end the fight with Luther.
Now things would play out on their own.
But before that, he wanted to make his case stronger.
He glanced at Ted, lying on his left side.
"If you really want to repent, then shout as loud as possible. I think you know what I want you to say."
Ted’s face and body had shrunk, his breathing was haggard, but the soldier still nodded.
"Everyone!"
Ted used every last ounce of his being, and then, with the final flame of his life, he hollered:
"I am about to die. I am reduced to such a state because of only one person. And this Tenth Marshal, Pablo, is also in tremendous pain. Listen to me, Admiral Harlia... This Second Marshal, Luther, is the real killer. And I want you to..."
He paused, gathered the last bit of his energy from the bottom of the barrel of his life, and bellowed once more.
And these were his final words:
"Punish him to death."
