Cultivating in the Wizard World-Chapter 196 - 181: Scattered and Exposed
Combining plant cultivation and livestock raising, and artificially altering the environment for intensive farming, is undoubtedly evidence of a high level of civilization.
It’s important to note that even in Jeming’s previous life, before the industrial revolution, intensive farming was something only a certain great Eastern nation could claim.
"However... there’s a bit of a serious issue." Jeming’s expression turned serious as he watched the scene unfold before him.
In the soul of the Magma Giant he previously searched, there was no memory of this gathering point ever having "plantations" or "livestock raising".
Furthermore, from the traces on the land, the growth state of the plants, and the newness of the artificial light sources, it indeed seems to have been established not long ago!
This indicates that their intelligence source is lagging behind, and this Magma Giant gathering place has undergone unknown changes.
The other three wizards besides Jeming were also stunned.
They had initially thought this place would be a military camp, a mine, or some kind of weapons research facility, but none expected it to be a "farm"!
These wizards were clearly all from the Combat Element.
Regarding analysis reports on Magma Giants, they most likely only paid attention to combat-related ones, whereas the common knowledge of Logistics Element wizards came as quite a surprise to them.
"Did we... come to the wrong place?" One First Level Wizard subconsciously asked.
The other First Level Wizard, skilled in reconnaissance, shook his head in denial: "No, my navigation is not wrong; this is indeed the outpost."
"Then what are these things? Could it be that Magma Giants still need to eat?"
"Yeah, aren’t these Elemental Creatures supposed to survive by directly absorbing Elemental Power?" 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Jeming couldn’t help but enlighten them; upon learning that Magma Giants have such a unique physical structure, the remaining three wizards couldn’t help but show expressions of amazement.
After a brief moment of shock, the wizards instinctively spread out and began collecting nearby plant and soil samples for research.
They carefully used tongs or spiritual power to pick the plant samples, placing them in specially made sample bags, or using portable devices to analyze their elemental composition, energy fluctuations, and toxicity.
Jeming approached a plant with fiery red leaves; unlike the other wizards, he was not as meticulous.
After examining it closely with his "All-Purpose Eye," Jeming simply reached out, directly grabbing a few plant roots and stems and began to chew them!
The wizards who witnessed this scene all sucked in a cold breath!
Even if the plant can survive at high temperatures, it doesn’t mean it’s non-toxic, and recklessly consuming Otherworld plants is a major taboo for wizards!
Had they not been within the enemy’s camp, the wizards present might have let out sharp blasts of alarm.
However, Jeming dared to do this not because he was blindly reckless.
He had absolute confidence in himself.
His long adherence to the Body Refining Technique had greatly surpassed his physical qualities compared to wizards of the same rank, making him highly resistant to various types of damage.
Typical Otherworld plant toxins, even if lethal, would only make him feel a slight discomfort and could not harm him fundamentally.
Moreover, with the extreme analytical ability of the "All-Purpose Eye," he could instantly discern the basic structure of plants, and combined with the high resistance unique to Body Cultivators, he was almost unafraid of any known plant toxins.
"Hmm... the taste is quite peculiar, with less moisture than expected, somewhat like roasted sweet potato." Jeming mumbled as he chewed, his face even showing a hint of enjoyment.
Despite his casual remarks, Jeming quickly summarized his conclusions about the plant in his mind:
"Initially, judging by appearance, I thought the plant’s attributes were more like succulents, but structurally, it is more similar to fungi—no wonder it can grow into such a large area so quickly."
"It seems juicy, but is unexpectedly dry... however, it contains some stimulating components, and long-term consumption might improve biological resistance to the Fire Element. But the upper limit isn’t high..."
The other wizards exchanged glances, then shamelessly moved closer to Jeming, eager to share information.
They briefly exchanged their initial analyses of the plants.
Although Jeming did not disclose his full conclusions, it was apparent that his direct experiments were much more efficient than theirs.
Soon, the four regrouped to discuss the next steps.
"There’s been a change in circumstances." The Second Level Wizard said gravely, "Such an unexpected development suggests that the intelligence we previously obtained about this place is unreliable. The combat strength and number of Magma Giants remaining here might be increased as well."
He looked at the other two First Level Wizards and Jeming: "Therefore, I suggest we first conduct a risk assessment. This is not merely a simple military outpost as we previously assumed. The existence of such ’plantations’ implies that the Magma Giants here intend to operate long-term."
After weighing the pros and cons, three people decided to stay and continue their in-depth exploration, while one chose to leave.
However, this person assured that once they left, they would establish a stable long-distance communication with the camp and relay the latest intelligence here to the command center, while also requesting reinforcements.
The others agreed with this approach, as none were willing to venture recklessly into the modified unknown dangers.
Jeming was among those who decided to stay.
Jeming had ample reasons.
