Entering the core fortress of the Celestial City, Lu Yu stood on the first level, observing the surroundings.

This place resembled an inverted tower, with each level spiraling down like threads on a screw.

He looked up, seeing the sky outside through the open ceiling, pitch black.

Here, Lu Yu could clearly see the source of Celestial City's barrier. At the top of the core fortress, a beam of light shot into the sky.

This beam of light was invisible from the outside and could only be seen within the core fortress. It supported the entire defense of the Celestial City.

After watching the defensive barrier above for a while, Lu Yu felt relieved when he noticed the beam generating the defensive layer hardly changed, no matter how the bizarre creatures outside attacked.

This indicated that, at least in the short term, the Celestial City wouldn't be breached.

"Lu Yu, come here quick," Su Peng shouted loudly to Lu Yu.

Lu Yu glanced over at him and briefly scanned below—layers of repeating floors, nothing notable—and then quickly walked towards him.

"What's up?" Lu Yu asked while walking.

Su Peng stood beside him, pointing at the marks on the wall and said, "These might be traces left by your parents."

"Hmm?" Lu Yu looked at where Su Peng was pointing. Indeed, there were engravings on the wall, but the writing was somewhat messy and unclear.

After carefully discerning it, he managed to read the words, "They... are watching... here."

After reading, Lu Yu felt perplexed. He turned to Su Peng and Zhang Jingyang, asking, "What does this mean? What are 'they' referring to?"

Su Peng shook his head and said, "I don't know either."

Zhang Jingyang also shook his head, indicating his uncertainty.

Lu Yu instinctively glanced around, feeling a sense of being watched, as if there were invisible eyes staring at him.

He shook his head vigorously to dismiss this imaginary feeling.

"What should we do now?" Lu Yu asked the two.

Su Peng and Zhang Jingyang exchanged a glance, and Su Peng said, "Go down. There's something very important at the bottom of this tower."

"The main reason we came here is to retrieve the Core of Space-Time within the Celestial City."

"Core of Space-Time?" Lu Yu asked curiously, presuming it had something to do with time from the literal meaning.

Recalling the time constraints within Celestial City, Lu Yu speculated that the source of these limitations was the Core of Space-Time.

"Yes, the Core of Space-Time is the source of the Celestial City's time rules. It has the power to alter time," Su Peng said, noting the contemplative look in Lu Yu's eyes.

Inside the core fortress, only the three of them were present. They made their way downwards without encountering any obstacles.

Throughout, Lu Yu kept watching the surroundings, hoping to find traces possibly left by his parents.

Unfortunately, apart from a few engravings on the first level, there were no signs on the subsequent floors.

Upon pulling off the bottom layer of the core fortress, Lu Yu was confronted with a white sphere of light, hovering in mid-air, about four or five meters in diameter.

According to Su Peng, the Core of Space-Time was inside the light sphere. Once extracted, the time interval restrictions within the Celestial City would vanish, allowing free passage through various zones.

"Take action," Su Peng glanced at Zhang Jingyang and said.

Zhang Jingyang activated the sacred armor on his body, which flew out and landed on Su Peng.

Su Peng's eyes shot forth divine light, exuding an aura of ancient majesty, clad in sacred armor, as he took steps toward the light sphere floating in mid-air.

Lu Yu watched them without making a move. Since they hadn't asked for his help, he chose to stand aside, avoiding interference.

The instant Su Peng touched the Core of Space-Time, he felt the world's time freeze. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Lu Yu behind him, maintaining a waiting posture, body frozen.

"Hurry, I can't hold on much longer," Zhang Jingyang urged.

In the entire world, only the two of them could move.

Coming to his senses, Su Peng tried to quicken his pace, but his steps seemed beyond his control, remaining slow, barely able to speed up.

The power of time was at play.

He realized that the greater his influence on the Core of Space-Time, the greater the core's influence on him.

Su Peng's inner self gradually calmed, becoming composed. His footsteps felt lighter, appearing faster despite no actual change, but granting him a perception of greater speed.

Observing Su Peng's figure disappear into the light sphere, Zhang Jingyang perceived not a trace of him, except the sacred armor worn by Su Peng, which allowed him to sense Su Peng's current state.

Feeling the sacred armor steadily moving away from him, Zhang Jingyang felt a bit more relaxed.

Lu Yu gazed at the light sphere before him, feeling a sense of familiarity, as if he had seen it somewhere before.

Carefully sifting through his memories, skipping over more than a decade of cultivation memories, Lu Yu found a similar scene from his recollection.

It was a small house, with an inner wall glowing with white light; the closer one got to the light, the faster the flow of time became.

There, he had once gained a trophy—a remarkably powerful wooden comb.

With this realization, Lu Yu understood why the light sphere seemed familiar—the light emanating from the sphere evoked the same sensation as the light on the small house's inner wall.

The image of the small house just emerged from Lu Yu's mind, when he sensed a violent spatial fluctuation intertwined with an indescribable strange wave.

Whoosh! A small house seemed to be spat out by some force, suddenly appearing before Zhang Jingyang and Lu Yu.
