Cultivation Daddy-Chapter 86: Wishful Thinking

Li Jain followed the trail and saw a half dead man covered in blood. His body looked like a broken marionette. A sword pierced right through his back. His face was unrecognizable due to the dried blood.

"He’s still alive." Li Yujian said, leaning forward to inspect the corpse carefully. After looking for a few moments, he sighed and shook his head: "Unfortunately his breathing is too shallow."

"Daddy, do you want me to heal him?" Li Juanxin asked expectantly, he couldn’t wait to show the results of his training.

Li Jain eyes soften: "Sure, give it a try."

With his father’s permission, Li Juanxin took a deep breath, stepped forward and squatted down. He reached out his hands, and focused his energy in his palm and fingers tips. Soon, a strange glowing light emitted from his small hands.

When the light touches the wound, it instantly starts healing.

The glow began to spread throughout the man’s body until his entire body was covered in golden light.

Li Jain observed the healing process of his son’s hand, and a satisfied expression appeared on his face: "You’ve improved so much." Li Jain praised.

Juanxin smiles happily, but he knew it wasn’t enough, he is using his strongest healing technique which heals faster and consumes more energy than other techniques. But the man’s injuries were too grave.

He’s beginning to get tired, but half of the man’s wounds haven’t healed yet.

Li Jain observed quietly. Suddenly, he frowned and called: "Xinxin, you can stop now. You’ve done enough"

Juanxin didn’t stop immediately, he wanted to push his limit and keep going. But soon, his energy depleted, and he collapsed on the ground. Li Jain immediately picked him up.

"Father, what are we going to do with this man?" Li Yujian asked

"We’ll take him with us." Li Jain reply

With Juanxin in his arms, he grabs the man’s ankle and drags him to the carriage.

Back at home, not long after Li Jain and the others left, Jingsheng and Jingxuan went into the training room, shutting out Fan Ruyin who was trying to follow them.

"Zhang, hurry up, let’s go." Li Yuhan called out to Li Zhang who was still dressing up, as if the Tavern wasn’t in his house.

"Hold on, don’t rush me. I’m at a very delicate stage. It will take another 15 to 20 minutes." Li Zhang answered as he continued styling his hair.

Yuhan rolled his eyes: "What delicate stage? You better come out with this instead before I get you myself!"

"Alright, Alright, hold your horses." Li Zhang quickly finished his last touch ups, and came out.

"You even took the time to style your hair?" Yuhan was speechless.

"Haha, I guess my appearance is pretty good huh? I need to look good for the ladies, haha." Li Zhang chuckled: "But since you’re so impatient, we’d better hurry up."

"What ladies? they’re all women that can bear ten of you." Yuhan sneered.

Li Yuhan and Li Zhang get along really well and have similar interests. Unfortunately, this Li Zhang styling habit really annoyed Yuhan at times.

"Let’s go."

As they were walking, they heard footsteps following behind them and looked back simultaneously and saw Fan Ruyin smiling at them.

Li Yuhan frowned: "Why are you following us?"

"I’m just taking a walk, do I need your permission to see how the restaurant is doing?" Fan Ruyin responded while shrugging nonchalantly.

"You can go, if you must. But don’t do any unnecessary stuff" Li Yuhan warned her with a serious tone.

Fan Ruyin laughed lightly: "What gives you the nerve to order me? I may not be your mother, but don’t forget that I am a part of the family already."

She finally admitted her scams, Li Cheng looked towards them and turned his face away as if he didn’t hear anything.

"So you finally admit it. We knew from the moment you arrived here that it wasn’t because you suddenly missed my brothers." Li Yuhan smiled proudly.

"What do you mean?" Fan Ruyin’s brow twitched, and her face twisted unnaturally.

Yuhan didn’t answer but warned her instead: "Listen, the Spiritual Tavern is our only source of income, so don’t go too far! Also, stop your wishful thinking about being the madam of this house , you know it’s not realistic!" With those words, he turned away.

"What? What do you know?" Her face flushed red from embarrassment.

Wishful thinking? We’ll see about that! Fan Ruyin smirks, she was so confident that she could get whatever she wanted.

Still, she was surprised at Li Yuhan’s behavior. Unlike Li Yujian who was cold and indifferent since childhood, Yuhan was much more childish and cheerful . She never expected him to threaten to kick her out so brutally. Even though it was just a joke, and she doesn’t take it seriously, something inside her felt like the threat is a real one.

Li Cheng held his chin in thought: Li Yuhan wasn’t as naive as he appeared to be. Although he wasn’t as sharp and ruthless as Yujian, he has another side that only shows when his bottom line is touched.

Yujian once called it the other side of the mask.

Li Cheng smiled, among all seven brothers, the only one that’s close to be called ignorant is Li Juanxin and Li Jingxuan who refuse to grow up.

As for Li Jingsheng, he was taught by Yujian to be wary, and to think logically before acting impulsively. Given the situation they were in, they didn’t have the luxury to act carefreely or recklessly.

However, some people just can’t help themselves. He looked at Li Zhang and sighed.

"Let’s go, Zhang"

"Yes, second brother." Li Zhang grin widened

As soon as they entered the Tavern, Bai Lian saw them come over: "Little masters, you’re here." He looked back at Fan Ruyin who smiled at him: "Are you guys here together?"

"We came to help out. She insisted on following us." Yuhan said with a frowned

"Should I report to the master?" Bai Lian asked hesitantly

"No need, father is busy, just do your job." Yuhan paused and continued after a moment of thought: "Remember not to say anything concerning the Tavern to her."

"Understood." Bai Lian smiled

Li Yuhan and Li Zhang put on their small aprons and got to work.

Bai Lian was just wondering how Liu Xiong would react when he comes back and sees that the master has a wife. But now it seems there’s nothing to worry about. The little masters don’t seem to like her, and they’re the master’s top priority.

Fan Ruyin stood nearby as if she didn’t hear their conversations. She was busy admiring how successful the business was.

Some customers had seen Fan Ruyin yesterday when she arrived. People love rumors, especially when those rumors involve famous and powerful families. Everyone wanted to talk about this beautiful woman who claims to be Owner Li’s wife.

A few curious customers leaned in as Li Zhang delivered dishes:

"Little Master, is that woman your mother?" A customer asked curiously.

"She’s the mother of the triplets." Li Zhang answered without looking up.

Another guest raised an eyebrow: "Oh! So that means Master Li has a wife after all. I knew those town girls were having wishful thoughts."

Another auntie who always talks too much, clapped her hands: "Good, good, it’s good to have a mother around! Even if she’s not the real mother of all seven boys, it’s still..."

Li Yuhan set the tray down loudly on the table, interrupting her words.

He said coldly: "We’re fine with our father, we don’t need an extra person around."

The auntie chokes on her words: "Little Master, I didn’t mean... that."

Fan Ruyin was enjoying the attention. People who couldn’t get close to Li Jain took the opportunity to talk to her instead. They didn’t take the children rejection seriously, thinking that’s how children are when they’re not used to someone, in deal time they would accept it and come around.

"Madam Fan, Master Li is really lucky to have such a beautiful woman like you."

"Can you speak to Master Li for us..."

"We only want to purchase a few more jars of... but the amount per customer is set."

"Please pass our greetings, we admire him greatly."

Li Zhang look at reaction of the customers to Fan Ruyin and felt a bit worried. But then again, it’s a family matter, I’m the end, they would be the ones to make the final decision.

Fan Ruyin stay with them in the Li resident for some times, and whenever she came, she was always complaining on how miserable her life was. Having three children wasn’t her choice and there’s no way she would be responsible for all seven.

So how come now, she suddenly becomes so accepting?

Fan Ruyin basked in the attention like she was some madam of a big family. Her lips curved into a satisfied smile, she didn’t mind that the children were cold to her. As long as she becomes Madam Li, everything would change.

Wishful thinking? Well that isn’t exactly accurate. Fan Ruyin smirked.
