Cultivation Starting from Choosing Augments-Chapter 89: Thoughts on Going Premium
This book has now reached 200,000 characters, so it will be going premium tomorrow. The release time will be 6 PM, as usual.
I’m shamelessly posting this separate Chapter to ask for your support with first-day subscriptions.
It’s not easy for a newbie author like me, so please, I’m begging for first-day subscriptions and for you to subscribe!
On the Qidian app right now, you can get several Chapter cards every day just by watching ads. Subscribing with those Chapter cards also counts as support for this book. Please, I’m counting on you.

Below are some of my thoughts.
First, I want to thank everyone for your support along this journey.
Thank you for all the donations, monthly tickets, recommendation tickets, and comments.
This book had a very rough start.
In the first five days after it was published, it only had a total of ten collections, and the daily readership was just one or two people.
Later, when the new book was officially indexed, it gained 2 collections on the first day (September 16th) and 3 collections on the second day (September 17th).
At that point, I honestly thought the book was completely dead in the water.
Things got a little better after that.
But even by the day it left the new book pool, September 25th, the book’s total collection count was only 226.
I couldn’t even get the 300-collection badge.
Under normal circumstances, an experienced author would probably be preparing to drop the book. Continuing to write it would just be investing in a flop.
But I couldn’t bear to do it. It’s not easy for a new author to get a contract, so how could I just drop it like that?
So I just kept toughing it out until I got a trial recommendation slot.
Maybe I just got lucky. Really, really lucky.
The book’s trial run happened to fall during the National Day holiday, when many readers had gone traveling.
Other authors were losing traffic, but my numbers actually went up.
So with them dropping and me rising, I actually won the PK round and made it to the second round of recommendations.
At that time, I was checking the Author’s Assistant app dozens of times a day (I promise, that’s not an exaggeration at all), just obsessing over the book’s stats.
I even spent several days in a row using the author’s notes section to beg everyone for their follow-up reads on Tuesday.
Honestly, I was worried that everyone would get annoyed seeing it so often, but I just couldn’t control my anxiety.
The readership data I can see has a two-day delay.
On Wednesday, I looked at Monday’s numbers, and my heart just sank.
The gap was huge. Based on the experience shared in my author group, this PK round was a lost cause.
But to my surprise, you all gave me a wonderful surprise.
There were actually readers who came specifically on Tuesday to help the book by reading the latest Chapter!!!
And so, this book, which started with absolutely disastrous stats, was actually carried into the third round by all of you.
To be honest, the day I got the site message, I was so damn happy.
Let me kowtow to all of you again—Or2

I want to give a special thank you here to a reader named Ge Fei.
Ever since the book was published, you’ve continuously given me so many recommendation tickets.
It even made me wonder if I had an alt account that was voting for me every day (manual dog head emoji).
Thank you so much for your support. Especially during the new book period when I only had a few dozen collections, it was a huge encouragement.
.
At the same time, I want to thank every reader who has made it this far. Thank you for your patience with this book.
I have to admit, I really lack writing experience, and I unintentionally created a major turn-off in Chapters 31-36.
Sigh, looking back on it now, I’m filled with regret.
I actually thought about deleting those Chapters, but that would break the plot continuity. In short, I feel a bit helpless about it now.
Again, I apologize.
I promise you all that there will absolutely be no more turn-offs like that in the future.
.
Regarding the update schedule after going premium:
There should be a guaranteed two Chapters per day, and I’ll strive for three.
That’s a guaranteed two Chapters, or 4,000 characters, per day, and I’ll do my best to write three Chapters, or 6,000 characters. But I won’t make any big promises here, just in case I can’t keep my word.
If I can finish 6,000 characters in a day, I’ll post 6,000.
If I really can’t finish 6,000, then I might only post 4,000.
I know many authors can manage 6,000, which makes for a more comfortable reading experience for everyone.
But I’m honestly a bit of a noob and write very slowly.
I’m a scrub, I’m sorry.
Also, if any special circumstances come up with the book, whether I’m taking a day off or something else, I’ll always post a separate Chapter to let you know.
So if you see that the updates suddenly decrease one day, please don’t misunderstand. It just means I have writer’s block.
I will do my best to make up for the missed Chapters later.
.
Regarding bonus Chapters upon release:
The book currently has 6,000 collections and 600 daily readers.
My expected number of first-day subscriptions is 100. So, if we can exceed 200 first-day subscriptions, I’ll add one bonus Chapter.
Next up is donations.
If, within the first 24 hours of going premium, I receive a cumulative total of more than ten yuan in donations, I’ll add one bonus Chapter.
Although I’m hoping for more, it’s probably unrealistic, so I won’t make any empty promises.
.
Finally, if you have any good ideas for Augments, please leave a message in the comments section, or right here.
Before, I was just pulling my hair out trying to come up with them on my own.
It was only this afternoon that I saw the review section and noticed two new threads discussing Augments.
I want to copy—I mean, *borrow* some inspiration from the book reviews, too.
.
That is all. From the year 2024.
