Far away from the Myriad Galaxy Guardian Mountains, Blackwell clutched his chest as he stumbled across the wasteland riddled with the remnants of his battles where dense corpses of Zodiac Beasts lay in fragments.

His once-ethereal glow now flickered erratically like a dying flame. The pain was unbearable—a searing, gnawing agony that burrowed into his very essence and soul. No matter what he tried, no salve or incantation could quell the torment coursing through him.

His breath came in ragged gasps as he stood atop the fractured remains of a Legendary King State Zodiac Beast he had just slain. Its monstrous form lay crumpled, its life extinguished by Blackwell’s wrath and desperation. Yet even this triumph brought no relief. The same unknown malady continued to consume him, tearing him apart from within, and he could feel it was reaching a critical point!

He didn’t know the name of his affliction, but its symptoms had manifested shortly after his encounter with Jacob in the Valley of Sunless Dusk, and since then, he knew no peace as if he was being cursed.

"That treacherous bastard!" Blackwell roared as his hatred for Jacob boiled over, reaching the level of madness.

Blackwell had never expected that a mere distraction in the grander scheme of things, a minor annoyance to his plans, would be the end of him. He had survived far worse than Jacob and was very careful, but he still ended up in this statue and didn’t know how Jacob did it!

Now, as Blackwell’s body rotted from the inside out and his soul totem was filled with cracks and had almost lost its luster, he couldn’t shake the gnawing suspicion that Jacob had cursed him in some way with the help of none other than the Cursed Necromancer King!

But Jacob was long gone, vanished into the ether, leaving Blackwell to suffer and die alone. It wasn’t like he didn’t try to search for him, but the moment he left the Valley of Sunless Dusk, he was greeted by hordes of Zodiac Beasts, and even a Legendary King appeared to attack him, which now lay under his feet after a long and ghastly battle.

However, just when he thought it was over, more Zodiac Beasts surged around him in endless waves, their primal roars echoing through the mist-shrouded wastelands.

"Damn these insects!" Blackwell roared in indignation as he pressed onward, carving a bloody path through their ranks. His spectral blades shimmered with ghostly light as they cut through flesh and bone. Even in his weakened state, he was a force of destruction, a wraith incarnate, a worthy Legendary King!

Blackwell only had a single destination in mind: the Spirit Poison King’s Domain.

"Only he can salvage this cursed existence," Blackwell muttered through clenched teeth. His voice trembled with a mix of determination and despair.

He knew the Spirit Poison King resided in these lands; he was a being known for his unparalleled mastery over toxins and curses, and he was the one behind the Cursed Necromancer King’s demise.

If anyone could cure him, it would be the Spirit Poison King, so he naturally searched for him because he had already used his only talisman with the Spirit Poison King’s soul totem signature to put him after Jacob. Now he regretted it so much he could die!

As he moved forward, the Ghost Ship loomed behind him, its spectral sails rippling with an otherworldly glow. It had been his sanctuary, his fortress. Now, even its oppressive aura felt like a mockery of his own failing power. Explore new worlds at novelbuddy

As Blackwell approached the Spirit Poison King’s domain, the ground itself seemed to rebel against him. The air grew thick with venomous miasma, and the Zodiac Beasts became fiercer, more relentless. He was at his limit.

Blackwell’s once-proud form faltered. His steps became staggered, his vision blurred. He reached out, clawing at the air as the pain in his chest exploded, consuming him in a torrent of agony.

It was actually the Nightmare Sepsis, which had reached its critical point, and it seemed impossible to escape his doom.

"No… not like this!" Blackwell roared, his voice raw with defiance. He unleashed a final surge of power, cutting down a charging Zodiac Beast with a desperate swing of his spectral blade. But it wasn’t enough, as his power was like a dying candle.

At this moment, a massive Zodiac Beast, its form cloaked in shadows and eyes glowing like molten fire, emerged from the mists like a spectral ghost.

At a terrifying speed, it struck with unrelenting ferocity, its claws raking through Blackwell’s ethereal body. With his current dying power, it was impossible to blow, and he fell to his knees, coughing out spectral mist, his essence unraveling with each breath.

"I… won’t… die…" he whispered, his words fading into the howling winds, still unwilling to die like this, yet the Zodiac Beast in front of him was another legendary king!

In his final moments, Blackwell’s thoughts were consumed by hatred and regret. Jacob’s face flashed before his eyes, and he felt Jacob sneering at him.

"This… is because of you…" He roared with terrifying killing intent filled with unwillingness as he tried to break free.

Yet, the beast struck again, and with a final, bone-crushing blow, Blackwell’s form shattered like glass. His soul totem scattered into the void, consumed by the very Zodiac Beast!

As Blackwell’s soul dissipated, the Ghost Ship began to tremble. The glowing gem embedded in its figurehead cracked, and the entire vessel erupted in a cascade of ghostly light. The specters that had been bound to it were freed, their hollow eyes filling with relief as they ascended into the void, their chains of servitude finally broken!

The ship’s destruction sent shockwaves through the wasteland, and the Zodiac Beasts recoiled, momentarily stunned by the sudden surge of law energy.

Blackwell’s death was the end of an era. A being who had defied death multiple times had finally been claimed by it, leaving behind only echoes of his torment and the liberation of those he had enslaved.

Yet, the moment Blackwell met its demise, a tiny black spot appeared, and the next moment, it suddenly vanished. Even the Zodiac Beasts failed to notice it, and its current location is unknown!
