Damned Healer-Chapter 745: Triarchy
Seven days passed silently within the Golden Crow Sect.
At the start of the day, the entire sect began to stir again. All disciples who were not on missions were officially summoned. In the sect's Sacred Hall, a grand direct disciple ceremony assembly was about to take place.
Darian was at the center of the Golden Celestial Lake, eyes closed and covered by an intense golden flame. During these days, he absorbed the three drops of the Golden Crow bloodline, as well as learned all 10 supreme techniques of the Golden Crow Canon.
Suddenly, Darian opened his eyes. A message reached him.
Darian snorted and calmly left.
...
The enormous courtyard in front of the Sacred Hall was already completely packed with tens of millions of disciples, as well as all the sect's big shots. However, although the crowd was immense, absolute silence reigned.
At that moment, the Palace Masters sensed an approach and turned around. All the disciples noticed this and followed their gaze.
Arriving in slow steps, five figures entered the courtyard.
All eyes focused on Darian at the center. On his right side were Pyreus and Chrysos; on his left were Limdiss and Emina.
Upon seeing Darian, one figure paused for a moment before immediately speeding up and arriving in front of them. Dressed entirely in intense crimson, he looked charming and emanated an elegant aura; it was Herion.
"Palace Master Chrysos, Juniors Pyreus, Emina, and Limdiss... Junior Darian... Oh, no," Herion laughed while shaking his head, "Starting today, I should call you Senior Darian."
Chrysos nodded, the other three returned the greeting; as for Darian, he only looked him in the eyes silently.
Herion met Darian's eyes and smiled faintly. "I still haven't congratulated you on becoming the sect leader's direct disciple. About that, I feel quite ashamed. That day at the lake, I really underestimated myself; you won, I should have simply said I wouldn't accept another match. It's just that... I hope it wasn't too ridiculous for you when I said I would give you a handicap that day. But... I truly wanted to win, so I apologize for acting so presumptuously. It's probably not an exaggeration to say Senior Darian is incomparable and will never be matched in the future. I was just born earlier, and that's why my cultivation is a bit higher. Losing was natural."
"What are you saying? Deliberately putting yourself down will only create a mental block; that wouldn't help the sect at all. You are the second strongest of the generation. Take pride in that and focus on getting better and better. Who knows what will happen in the future? There isn't only one path to the top. Maybe you have other capabilities that will complete you in the future." Darian replied gently, feeling that he was being sincere for the first time.
Herion laughed while shaking his head. "Thank you, I won't speak like that again. Now that the dream of becoming a direct disciple is over, I'll fully focus on my cultivation. In the end, Lazaro was always right..."
After speaking, he waved and took his leave.
The five moved forward across the courtyard. Suddenly, Limdiss asked in a low voice:
"Master Darian, what do you think of Herion as a person?"
Darian answered without thinking much. "He should have had a very firm obsession with becoming a direct disciple and must have been very confident. However, when he was just one step away from success, he saw everything collapse because of me... but in just seven days, he not only accepted it calmly, he also didn't show any hostility when facing me and even came to greet me on his own initiative."
"If it were me, I definitely wouldn't be able to do that," Emina added, having the same impression as Darian.
The group crossed the courtyard, arriving at the colossal Sacred Hall. Everything shone magnificently, with every centimeter made of fire crystals. The entire hall was empty. The moment they arrived, everyone heard a muffled roar.
An enormous Azure Dragon appeared in the skies. It was the sect leader and his wife. Everyone took a deep breath and entered the hall in an orderly manner.
The Leader landed right in front of Darian and gave him a calm look. Darian nodded; he had promised that what happened before would remain secret and, in front of the sect's ordinary members or outsiders, he would be only his direct disciple.
After an intense light appeared, a Dragoness also emerged with a sharp gaze. Immediately, she exchanged a look with Chrysos, then moved to Darian's side, a little behind her husband, with an indifferent expression.
Within minutes, the Hall was completely packed, wrapped in a blazing and immense aura. However, what drew the most attention was not the Sect Leader, but Darian.
After the Grand Supervisor Ruan personally read the decision from seven days ago and the direct disciple decree, Darian slowly walked forward under the various gazes of everyone present.
Gildor was seated on a throne, and then formally introduced Darian to the entire sect. His status rose meteorically. His name would be spread throughout the universe. And now, within the sect, his word carried as much weight as that of a Palace Master.
All eyes were fixed on Darian. The general feeling was envy, jealousy, shock, and disbelief... Everyone firmly believed the direct disciple would be Herion or Lazaro.
After a few minutes of speech...
*Wooosh*
Suddenly, a burst of hot wind blew in, sweeping into the hall.
Everyone was startled and turned around. A figure hurriedly appeared at the entrance of the hall. He quickly knelt down, speaking fast:
"Sect Leader, guests from the Bakunawa Abyssal Triarchy wish to see you... they... have invaded the planet and the sect, and are already outside the Sacred Hall."
"What?!"
The expressions of all the sect's big shots changed, and they stood up in fury. It took almost suicidal courage to invade a sect like this.
At that moment, Gildor snorted with a cold expression. But... Darian could sense that, internally, he was relieved, as if he had previously been unsure whether these people would come or not.
"To enter this place without causing any commotion, it seems those three old hags came personally."
"Yes, Sect Leader, the three Queens of the Bakunawa Abyssal Triarchy came together," the guard replied in a low voice.
"How many people did they bring?" Ruan asked.
"The three of them only brought three others with them... Besides that, they are three people with very young auras."
Gildor did not stand up, but his scorching voice echoed through the heavens. "Let them in!"
The voice carried irresistible majesty.
The next second, the sound of footsteps echoed through the hall. Everyone turned toward the six figures, their gazes sharp as blades.
The hot breeze ceased and was suddenly replaced by several waves of cold air. Beneath those waves, three figures exuding extremely high cultivation stood at the front; right behind them, three youths followed.
Their steps were silent, yet each step made the others feel as if their hearts were being trampled and their organs trembling. Their auras were so dense that even the Palace Masters felt suppressed.
Their arrival caused the atmosphere of the palace courtyard to undergo a sudden, massive change.
'The three figures in front are...' Suddenly, an emotionless voice sounded in Darian's mind. It was the Dragoness Minril who began explaining calmly to him.
The Bakunawa Abyssal Triarchy was a high-level organization in the universe that had long stood above the Golden Crow Sect in overall power. They did not have a single Leader; they were ruled by Three Queens, each controlling a planet and a Realm.
Each Realm dominated a common aspect of the water element. The three Queens made all decisions by vote, and there had never been cases of attempted separation or serious internal conflict.
At the center of that group in the hall was a woman who looked much older than the others. She had short white hair, bright blue eyes, and wore blue robes with a black serpent symbol on her chest. This was the Queen of the Tide-Shadow Realm, Veyra.
Beside her, the two women appeared quite young on the surface. Both had long black hair and were tall and slender. One of them had a long silver saber on her back; she was the Queen of the Dark-Frost Realm, Kaltis.
The other had a round face and a light, gentler smile. This was the Queen of the Ebon-Haze Realm, Myna.
Minril explained that the Bakunawa was a type of Beast specialized in the water and Yin elements, and very ancient. It wasn't a true Primordial Beast, just like the Golden Crow wasn't either. But, just like the Golden Crow, there had once been a Bakunawa that, in the distant past, managed to reach immortality and achieved a status equal to that of a Primordial Beast. Because of that, there wasn't much difference between their Bloodlines, and people sometimes referred to them with that title.
Before leaving the universe, that entity left its inheritance for those capable of obtaining it.
The Bakunawa Abyssal Triarchy was similar to the Golden Crow Sect, where their power was based on the bloodline of that entity.
All of their cultivators specialized in the water element, which was an almost completely Yin element. Because of this, the sect was dominated by women.
In the distant past, they had a great friendship with the Golden Crow Sect. The men of this sect possessed extreme Yang, which was a perfect match for the women of extreme Yin. When a couple between the two sects appeared, the children inherited incredible natural talent. When he was a boy, he stayed in the Golden Crow Sect and always stood out among the others; the opposite also happened.
But... a little over a thousand years ago, everything changed. And now, the two sects had a very complicated relationship.
At that moment, the three Queens had come personally, even without being invited. Because of that, even the weakest disciple in the hall could sense that something was happening.
A young girl followed each of the three Queens.
Judging by the auras emanating from their respective bodies, each one belonged to her own faction. As they walked behind the three Queens, their gazes were serious, but their indifferent expressions contained traces of great arrogance.
However, as they approached Gildor, the arrogance on their faces slowly faded, replaced by tension.
Although they still maintained their bearing as the realm's top disciples, their bodies were extremely tense under the incredible pressure exerted by the Sect Leader.
The group walked to where Gildor was seated and stopped a few meters in front of him.
Then Myna, the most amiable of the three, stepped forward once more, bowing in respect and declaring in a clear voice:
"The three Queens of the Bakunawa Abyssal Triarchy greet the Sect Leader of the Golden Crow Sect. We are fortunate to once again witness your splendor and elegance. Our visit this time is extremely presumptuous; therefore, we ask forgiveness for the rudeness."
The other two also bowed slightly in respect.
Darian's gaze landed on the figure of the oldest Queen, called Veyra. The other two had serious expressions and did not show any hostility. Instead, they seemed to have come to plead. As for Veyra...
Although she was also showing respect, one could clearly feel the killing intent emanating from her eyes.
At that moment, Minril's voice sounded in Darian's mind: 'The one responsible for Brother Chrysos being poisoned and nearly dying before... was precisely the people from the Tide-Shadow Realm. That damned old woman... still dares to be angry...'
