Danmachi: Is It Wrong to Be the Main Character in Orario?-Chapter 802: The Growth Plan Going Forward
Returning to the shelter on the 76th floor, that biting cold washed over them again.
Ais’s expression didn’t change at all. Letting magic envelop her entire body had long become habit; even outside the 76th floor, she often kept her magic flowing across her skin.
The shelter, built entirely from blocks of ice, retained no warmth whatsoever. Living here without considerable strength was simply impossible.
But there was no need to worry—neither Bell nor Ais were weak. They were more than capable of adapting to such conditions.
Ais sat on her ice bed and looked at Bell with quiet anticipation.
"Teacher, what kind of training will we be doing next?"
Bell had, of course, already planned it out.
"We’ll continue the same training method as before. For now, I won’t seal your Skills. You’ve just reached Lv.7. Even with adjustments, you won’t be able to immediately regain your previous combat strength. You need time to adapt to your current state."
"For the next two or three days, go take down all the dragonkin on this floor. Once you accomplish that and fully grasp your present power, we’ll move on to the higher floors."
Floor 76 would still give Ais a bit of trouble in her current state, but once she acclimated, even with "Avenger" sealed, defeating the dragonkin here wouldn’t be difficult.
But she had to adapt to her strength first.
Adjusting outside the Dungeon simply wasn’t adequate. Fine-tuning one’s power was always best done inside the Dungeon itself.
Which meant the next two or three days would be Ais’s adaptation period.
"You should be able to stay calm right now, correct?"
"Mm."
Ais nodded, showing she was perfectly composed.
Even if what she had learned made calmness difficult, she understood that staying cool-headed was exactly what she needed.
You couldn’t let yourself act on impulse in battle. Only calm allowed you to fight effectively.
Life was life—but when it came to battle, Ais never allowed worldly frustrations to cross that line.
"In that case, Ais, I’ll start teaching you how to fight if you lose your weapon during combat."
After confirming she was ready, Bell explained what he would teach her next.
She had already mastered the basics of magic control; now came the finer, more intricate usage of magic and spells.
Most magic awakened through the Falna System didn’t require such precision.
For most adventurers, as long as they adjusted the flow and output of magic power and chanted the incantation, they could unleash powerful spells.
But a small number of spells awakened through the Falna System could be controlled more deeply.
Like Ais’s "Ariel."
It was an inheritance left to her through her bloodline from her Spirit mother, allowing her to use simple release words as incantations.
And since "Ariel" was an augmenting spell that enhanced her speed, defense, and attack, it was simple yet highly controllable.
That was what made Ais different from most adventurers who awakened magic.
Her spell allowed for exceptional control—something others lacked.
Just possessing "Ariel" alone was enough for Ais to rank among Orario’s strongest adventurers.
And that was exactly why Bell wanted to teach her deeper applications of magic.
"For tonight, rest."
"Mm."
Ais didn’t question sleeping here. She’d heard Bell say before, "If training becomes routine, then routine becomes the best training."
And she understood that perfectly now.
...
Inside the Loki Familia.
"Ais."
Riveria’s voice sounded outside Ais’s room.
She waited a moment, but there was no response. Riveria’s brow furrowed, and she called again.
"Ais."
This time she raised her voice slightly in case Ais had fallen asleep.
Yet the room stayed silent.
What’s going on? A trace of unease stirred in Riveria’s heart.
She didn’t call again. Instead, she turned the doorknob and walked in.
The unlocked door opened easily.
As expected, the room was empty.
Riveria strode straight to the bed, touching the surface.
Her sensitive fingers detected faint warmth—slowly fading.
Proof that Ais had been gone for some time.
Riveria inhaled deeply and moved immediately to the wardrobe.
Opening it revealed exactly what she feared: everything had been taken.
There was no longer any doubt—Ais had been taken by Bell.
A throbbing headache followed.
"Taken away again..."
Riveria calculated the time carefully. Yes, the one-week rest period had ended.
Which only worsened her headache.
"Bell, do you really have to be this absurdly punctual?"
He had said one week, and he meant exactly one week—not even an extra day.
But what could she do?
Ais was already gone. She couldn’t call her back.
She didn’t have any way to contact Bell.
Loki surely did, but Loki absolutely wouldn’t call Ais back. Whether or not it was just her imagination, Riveria clearly sensed that Loki held a laissez-faire attitude toward Bell training Ais.
Truthfully, Riveria admitted Bell’s teaching ability was impressive—especially since he himself was a lone wolf.
And naturally, the best person to teach a lone wolf... was another lone wolf like Ais.
And judging by the results, Bell’s teaching was undeniably effective.
In just three months, Ais’s stats had skyrocketed, nearly reaching her personal limit—something no ordinary person could achieve.
Riveria certainly couldn’t do it.
But from the state Ais had been in when she came back last time, if she continued training under Bell... she might truly become Bell’s second coming.
"Ahh... Bell, please don’t turn Ais into a total life-inept hermit."
All she could do now was pray.
And go inform Loki and Finn that Ais had been taken again—before her disappearance turned into another major incident within the familia. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
