Date a Witch: Reborn as the Witch of Lust! (GL)-Chapter 94: Dangers? Saintess handholding comes first!
Chapter 94: Dangers? Saintess handholding comes first!
’Partner. Are you sure it’s fine letting Lila and Rosana compete like that?’
The group of four, now five accompanying Calina, set out to the <Sky Haven> after their meals for the gathering.
Holding hands with a grumbling Lila, Mel’s gaze lingered on Aria’s back, who occasionally glanced over for reassurance.
[ It’d be fine. Even though I cannot anticipate how the Cult will attack, I’m here myself to be readied for any occasion. ]
The elf tapped her lips with her index finger, a teasing gesture aimed at Mel.
Mel smirked, her hand over Lila’s tightening. ’I’m not so sure if I’m ready for another surprise.’
[ You should be, Mel. The Cult’s movement cannot be predicted easily after all. ]
’Hehe. Then I’m counting on you.’
[ Of course. Do visit me at night, however. I’m a very needy person. ]
Aria glanced behind her again, then at Mel’s hand interwined with Lila’s.
Seeing the hint of jealousy, Mel chuckled. ’Of course, Partner.’
With Mel’s sincere voice echoing through, the Saintess contemplated using Pride’s little <Space> technique again, running her ’hand’ over Mel’s naked butt.
Alas, Aria bit her lip and held herself back, impatience bubbling in her chest - tonight suddenly felt too far away.
"Mel..."
Meanwhile, Mel’s gaze met Lila’s, now filled with more guilt and pity than she expected.
"I-I’m sorry." Lila stammered, her thumb stroking against Mel’s back hand. "I got way in over my head. You can ignore our competition if you like."
Mel’s eyes glimmered a little before she shook her head. "Nah, I’m fine!"
She flashed a small grin at Lila. "Having girls compete over me was a dream-come-true scenario! You have no idea how fine I am with this."
"You..." Lila sighed, already tired of complaining about Mel. "If only you spare some of your pervertedness to me instead of your fantasy..."
"Oh?" Mel paused in her steps, brow raised. "I can do that."
Without another word, she cupped Lila’s ear.
Then she planted a kiss on it, moving down to plant another at her neck.
A chuckle escaped Mel as Lila moaned in pleasure, before she shifted up and bit onto her lips as usual.
"Mel..." As Lila whimpered against Mel’s kiss, tongue smacking deep into her cavern, the crowds sneaked an awkward stare at the couples, and Calina let out a disgusted groan against the sensual scenery.
Even the cult spies stood with jaws agape, stunned by their target’s audacity. Perhaps Mel’s courage was exactly why their leader was so eager to recruit her?
Rosana raised a brow, already used to the couple’s sudden whim, before noticing Aria gripping her fist, white knuckles baring in her knuckles.
Heh...
Before the Heiress could suspect more, a wet plop in the air cut off her thought.
Mel’s golden eyes held onto Lila’s teary stare as she muttered. "I could do more."
Lila’s expression melted, her hand slipping away from Mel’s grasp before nestling herself close to Mel.
With her heart warmed, Mel embraced Lila tightly, her voice a tender whisper. "Feeling needy today?"
"Mmm." Lila nodded. "It’s been a while since we last dated alone, and... and..."
"I understand." Mel brushed her lips against Lila’s hair, a subtle gesture of understanding. "I promise another date with you tomorrow, alone."
Lila’s hips swayed in Mel’s touch, as she giggled. "We might not have time with the field trip, you know?"
"I’ll figure something out, of course." Mel petted Lila. "Not afraid to skip lessons for you, Lila."
"That’s just your usual."
"Then I must admit my faults."
"Hehe... I forgive you..."
As Lila’s voice bubbled up like a pampered child, Aria at the front cut through the softness.
"Come on, everyone! Let us leave the lovey-dovey later!"
A muffled yelp escaped Lila’s lips, her blush deepening as she nudged closer to Mel’s chest.
Sneaky, perverted Lila.
Shifting her chest for her Lila to lean comfortably, Mel’s arm clasped around Lila’s, before grasping her hand again as the group carried forward.
’Sorry, Partner.’
[ ...it’s alright. ]
Aria cast another quick look at the held hands, before quickening her steps.
Less that her Mel was held in front of her, the better.
---------------
Ten minutes had passed as Mel returned to the Sky Haven, and the Knight was handing out wristwatch-like bands to the gathered Class 1-A.
She examined it as she slipped it on. The <Compass Watch>, aside from functioning as a tracker, allowed the academy to stabilize and manipulate Space coordinates during large-scale <Teleportation> spells.
Well, this is fun.
Her lips curled into a smile as her index finger gently tickled Lila’s palm in her grasp.
Then, she peeked at two of the Royal Knights under the shadow, their stares blatantly plastered onto hers with untold hostility.
Although her coordinates couldn’t be manipulated by anyone beneath Archon rank, they could still be tracked and deciphered.
"Everyone. Listen up."
Samantha clapped her hands in front, and all eyes settled on the teacher.
"We’re about to enter the Somberheim Mountain in groups, pairing you juniors with Seniors, to hunt for the enchanted monsters."
She cast a subtle glare at Aria, who idly fiddled with her elven ears and yawned beside Mel and Lila.
Clicking her tongue in dissatisfaction, she continued, "Unfortunately, your groups will be scattered across random locations, though ideally, your team members will stay together, until we regroup via the same Teleportation spell."
With a heavy sigh, she raised her hand. "Good luck, brat. And stay safe. The Seniors and Knights will monitor the site to protect you all."
And as Samantha waved her hand in the air, pixels clustered around Mel as the <Teleport> spell began.
She glanced at Lila. "See you then!"
Regret flickered across Lila’s face as she tiptoed to kiss Mel’s cheek.
Plop. Then she stepped back, blushing. "See you then, Mel."
--------------------
And with a spark, Mel blinked as she disappeared, revealing unto her a new scenery.
She took some time to observe her surroundings: the plain stretched vast and wide, with veins of molten lava weaving through the earth.
Crystals sparkled scattered across the unusually lush brown soil, while a few hardy trees stood defiantly against the swirling volcanic dust.
"And a huff..." Mel took a deep breath. "Wow. This is..."
A little cooler than she imagined, for a volcanic mountain.
The mockery was an understatement.
Standing there, Mel felt as cool as an autumn breeze despite the supposedly suffocating heat around her.
She approached the tree, her finger sliding over the wood as it scraped gently against her skin; too healthy, just like the soil beneath her.
Her eyes scanned the area once more, finding only herself. "I suppose this was expected."
Samantha’s little tease of ’ideally together’ was no mere tease; now Mel was truly alone in the mountain, with no Lila in her sight.
"Alright. Then shall we-"
[ Don’t hunt the cultists yourself, Partner. ]
The panel flickered in her view as Mel smiled to herself.
"Well, I can hardly see a Senior here. Or are you going to show yourself anytime soon?"
"...settle down, Mel."
A warm breath brushed her neck, causing Mel to shudder at the all-too-familiar teasing tone.
"Maria..." With a flushed face, she flicked her gaze behind her. "Did you manipulate the coordinates for my <Teleport> spell?"
"Oh, don’t be scared, Mel." The Saintess whispered in Mel’s ear. "You also like when Lila is not involved in danger too much, don’t you?"
The Saintess chuckled, her hand slithering at Mel’s waist as she watched the Witch hold back a gulp.
Her elven features remained, and her braided hair fluttered down Mel’s chest.
"I would’ve asked if I could take you here, but I’ve my own promise." The Saintess’s cheek grazed against Mel’s at the spot where Lila kissed.
"At least, though," she pulled back, stretching her hand. "Allow me to guide you, for your safety, for my selfishness."
As always, bend to me. Live for me.
Words caught in the Saintess’s throat, as Mel faced her with a curious stare.
A foxy smile curled on Mel’s lips, the cool breeze in the volcanic mountain enveloping her, as she relaxed under the disguised Saintess’s protection.
"I’ll leave myself to you then, Partner!"
The Saintess’s finger twirled on her uniform skirt, a subtle excitement fluttering in her heart as she muttered. "Glad that you trust me, Mel."
"As always."
They shared a breath caught in a lingering softness, as their hands locked silently in unspoken promise.
