Dawnless Sovereign-Chapter 46: Thats My Vow
Inside the classroom, Huo Churan felt like he was on the verge of going insane.
His face was covered in blood, and he was screaming internally, vowing to take Fang Che's life in vengeance!
***
Huo Churan was sent to the infirmary again.
The instructor at the infirmary wore an exasperated expression as he sighed, "Can you not keep your own students in check? I can heal using my cultivation arts, but I can't spend all my time on one student!"
The four instructors didn't know what to say.
Li Changkong was called to the coordinator's office, where he was receiving a grilling from the coordinator.
"What the hell is going on? He's already done this once yesterday, is he going to do it again tomorrow as well to make it three days in a row?!"
Li Changkong could only give a sheepish smile.
"Fang Che isn't solely to blame for this..." Duan Zhongliu protested in an unconvincing voice.
"Oh, so it's Huo Churan's fault, is it?" the coordinator snapped.
"It's not his fault, either," Duan Zhongliu replied.
"So it's my fault then!"
The coordinator was clearly about to fly off the handle.
"Of course not!" Duan Zhongliu hurriedly said.
"Then whose fault is it? Someone has to take the blame! Why can't the four of you just keep your students in check?! Get out of my sight!"
The four instructors scurried away with their tails between their legs.

Fang Che was given a beating by the four instructors, and his howls of agony were heard by the entire first-year cohort.
All of the first-year students couldn't help but shudder at the sound of his suffering.
***
That night, after returning home, Fang Che entered the secret compartment with his spear again, but once again, nothing happened.
However, this was no surprise. Even if Huo Churan were to make a move, he would only be able to call upon the Huo Clan for now, and the members of the Huo Clan wouldn't be able to get here so quickly.
Fang Che was truly worried that Huo Churan would somehow be able to stomach the suffering and refuse to send people after him in retaliation.
Fang Che wasn't worried about ruining his own reputation. He was already a member of the One Heart Church, so his reputation hardly mattered.
What he was concerned about was that Huo Churan's reputation could improve over time. If he were to suffer such humiliation in silence, he would be sure to receive some sympathy, and that could be converted into resources.
Hence, the next day, after lunch, Fang Che visited the eleventh class again.
He was wrapped in bandages as he rushed into the classroom with a furious look on his face.
"Huo Churan, you can't beat me, so you reported me to the instructors and had them beat me for you! You're a real man, aren't you?"
Before anyone had a chance to stop him, he administered another brutal beating. This time, he went even more overboard, going as far as to break Huo Churan's right leg.
After that, he departed with a furious and resentful look on his face, as if he were the one that had been wronged.
"Coward! How about you face me like a man instead of crying to the instructors?"
"Fang Che, I'm going to kill you! I swear it!"
Huo Churan had already been driven insane by this repeated torment, and he was no longer considering the consequences of his actions.
Fang Che was feeling a little dismayed as he departed.
Wei Zihao hadn't been present.
Where's that bastard hiding? I wanted to beat him today as well! Looks like I'll be copping another beating from the instructors...
***
Sure enough, that afternoon, Li Changkong gave him a taste of his own medicine.
After Fang Che was beaten into submission, Bing Shangxue approached him for a conversation.
"Fang Che, can I ask what Huo Churan did to make resent him so much? Surely the bad blood between you two goes beyond what happened at the new student tournament."
The four instructors were truly perplexed.
What kind of vendetta could possibly warrant Fang Che's near-obsessive bullying of Huo Churan?
"My vendetta against Huo Churan goes far beyond what happened at the new student tournament!"
This was the truth.
"So what exactly is it that you have against him?"
"I swore a vow to beat him up every time I saw him, and to create opportunities to run into him even if I don't get to see him. A vow is not something to be revoked, so I have no choice in the matter!"
The four instructors' eyes widened in unison.
That was clearly a nonsensical answer.
"Tell us the truth!" Li Changkong demanded in a stern manner. "That's clearly not the actual reason!"
Of course there was another reason, but it was one that Fang Che couldn't reveal.
Hence, after thinking about it, he lied, "I simply don't like the look of him! I don't feel good if I don't beat him up every day!"
The four instructors exchanged a glance with each other, and it was clear that they had lost their patience, just as it was clear that Fang Che wasn't going to tell them the truth.
Thus, Fang Che received another beating.
"I also don't feel good if I don't beat you up every day!" Li Changkong spat through gritted teeth.
In the end, Fang Che returned to the classroom bruised and battered with a sullen look on his face, much to the amusement of Mo Ganyun, who almost fell out of his chair laughing.
Fang Che immediately challenged him to a sparring match, and before Long, Mo Ganyun was in even worse condition than he was.
Yet another peaceful night passed by.
The next day, Fang Che went after Huo Churan again.
He still hasn't sent anyone after me? Looks like I need to try even harder!
However, this time, Huo Churan wasn't in the classroom.
Right as Fang Che was wondering to himself where Huo Churan could've gone, he noticed Wei Zihao out of the corner of his eye.
"Wei Zihao, what the hell are you snickering about?"
Wei Zihao immediately jumped out of his chair to try and flee out the window, only to be caught by the back of his collar.
"We're from the same city! How could you send those people to rob me, you two-faced piece of scum!"
Fang Che didn't hold back at all, and Wei Zihao was on the verge of a mental breakdown as he simultaneously sobbed, begged for mercy, and threw up blood.
At the height of his humiliation, wisps of darkness began to rise up from his skin like faint mist.
As soon as the darkness began to arise, Fang Che immediately rushed out of the classroom, upon which the darkness returned to settle over Wei Zihao's face.
"Just you wait, Wei Zihao! I'll come again next time!"
***
Fang Che left the classroom in deep thought.
What is that darkness? I get a really bad feeling from it. Could it be some type of cultivation art passed down in the Wei Clan? Could it be that the Wei Clan is also affiliated with an evil church? Surely not! They can't be that indiscriminate! What else could it be?
Wei Zihao had been knocked unconscious and was carried to the infirmary by his classmates.
While he was being treated, Fang Che arrived.
"Is Huo Churan here?" Fang Che asked in a warm and polite voice.
The infirmary instructor didn't know who he was, so he asked, "Who're you?"
"I'm a classmate of his. I heard that he was injured, so I came to visit him."
"He's in the third room," the instructor said without thinking anything of it.
He was focused on his treatment of Wei Zihao, and at the same time, he felt a little glad for Huo Churan.
He had already had three infirmary visits over the past three days, yet this was the first time that anyone had come to visit him. It seemed that the rumors of him being extremely unpopular among his peers weren't entirely true, after all.
All of a sudden, he heard a strange sound, namely a string of dull thumps, like some type of pounding.
It almost resembled the sound of fist on flesh...
What immediately followed were the agonized and anguished wails of Huo Churan and a torrent of abuse from Fang Che.
"You wanna go to instructors again? You thought I wouldn't be able to find you here? Cowardly little bitch! The only place where you'll be able to hide from me is six feet under the ground, where your ancestors are buried! Even then, I might dig you up just to piss on your remains!"
The instructor hurriedly wrapped up his treatment of Wei Zihao, then emerged from the room just in time to see Fang Che coming out of the third room.
"Thank you, Instructor," Fang Che said with a polite nod.
"Weren't you visiting Huo Churan?" the instructor asked in a perplexed manner.
"I just did," Fang Che confirmed with a smile. "I'll be leaving now."
"Alright, go ahead," the instructor replied.
What a polite, good-looking kid!
As he made his way into the third room to check on Huo Churan, he was astonished by what was waiting for him inside.
He then stormed out of the room in a fit of fury, but by then, Fang Che was already long gone.
For the first time, Huo Churan broke down into tears.
He was laying on the ground in the infirmary, vowing to himself over and over again to take Fang Che's life.
Never had he imagined that Fang Che would still be able to beat him up even in the infirmary!
He had already sent a message to his clan two days ago, yet he still hadn't received a response yet.
Hurry up and send someone to kill him!
In this moment, Huo Churan was even beginning to resent his own clan for their tardiness!
