Chapter 4612 - 3691: Movie Project (7)
In the S.H.I.E.L.D. office, Shiller took the orange cat from Captain Marvel's hands, scratched its head, and softly called its name. The Cosmic Beast Gugu purred cooperatively.
"These little furballs are in their shedding season again," Captain Marvel said with a bit of helplessness. "Before, when I took it to the space station, its fur floated into the important experimental equipment, causing a huge mess. Later, when I sent it to the Mercury Base, it swallowed a warehouse full of experimental samples. It really knows how to cause trouble for me..."
"Cats are all like this," Nick said, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed and shrugging. "At least they don't need to be neutered and don't poop or pee everywhere. That corgi Coulson is raising recently has made him change his carpet twice at home."
"Then you should keep ten or eight of them," Shiller said while petting the cat, "that way you can replace ten high-tech nano molecular fabric sofas in a day, and you can rack up quite a bit for reimbursements."
"Come on, that's way too inefficient." Nick sneered, curling his mouth, "Why do you think I want to raise a Tyrannosaurus Rex?"
Shiller, holding the cat, left S.H.I.E.L.D., and as soon as he stepped out, he saw Wanda's car. He walked over and opened the car door, and before he could sit down, three little cats scrambled to climb onto the back of the passenger seat. Once he sat, the three little furballs crawled onto the top of his head along his neck. Shiller clumsily pulled them down, but still couldn't prevent cat hair from flying all over his face.
"They're shedding lately," Wanda said while driving, "there's fur everywhere in the house. Fortunately, my robot vacuum cleaner doesn't have an exhaust port, otherwise, it would surely get clogged."
Shiller remembered the robot vacuum cleaner joke, chuckled twice, and then held both the big cat and the little cats in his arms. They drove to the New York Temple.
According to the Near-Earth Management Act, because they didn't apply for a flight path, they can't directly fly to space, and must use the teleportation portal. Even mages are not allowed to set up teleportation portals privately. Currently, there are only two places in New York with teleportation portals: one in the New York Temple, and the other one in S.H.I.E.L.D., not even Strange's Holy Sanctuary has one.
The current New York Temple is much livelier than usual because many little wizards are in New York for filming. As they can do magic, it's not suitable for them to stay in ordinary hotels, so they all stay in the New York Temple, and when they are not acting, they study there.
However, this is because the filming set in Massachusetts hasn't been set up yet, so once it's ready, they can all move there.
As soon as Wanda and Shiller arrived, they were surrounded by a group of little wizards, some clamoring for autographs, some clamoring to pet the cats. Shiller finally managed to shake them off.
They passed through the teleportation portal to space and transferred at the space station. Without any luggage this time, they didn't need to take a spaceship and could directly use the teleportation portal. They transferred twice more and arrived at the outpost on Jupiter's moon. The building materials transported from Asgard were stacked near Jupiter's moon.
Wanda and Shiller flew toward Jupiter's moon, and even from afar, they saw a large pile of peculiar things tied together by Asgard's unique Divine Power Chain, floating in the gravitational pull of Jupiter's moon.
"Oh my, what on earth are these?" Wanda flew over to take a look and said, "These don't look like building materials. Can these things really be used to build a castle?"
Shiller also went closer for a look and found that apart from some stone bricks that somewhat resembled building materials, everything else was bizarre, such as glowing liquid metal, a bundle of mysterious tree branches, various alloy panels, etc. These things really didn't look like they could be used to build a Gothic castle.
"Maybe the mages have special handling methods," Shiller thought and said, and then he released the cats.
The little cats initially struggled to adapt to the zero-gravity environment, flailing around in space. Gugu picked them up one by one, meowing at them as if teaching them how to use their innate abilities.
Gugu flew in front of the pile of rocks, opened its mouth, and a big bunch of tentacles burst out, dragging the pile of things into its mouth. After finishing, it even let out a satisfied burp.
The little cats learned quickly, scattered, each eating this or swallowing that, and in no time, they had swallowed up everything. The area near Jupiter's moon was cleared spotlessly.
"Simply too useful," Shiller marveled. After a while, the little cats started playing together. Shiller put them back in the cat carrier, and the two returned the way they came, and then through the New York Temple's teleportation portal, arrived in Massachusetts. Strange had set up a small teleportation portal in the forest on that land and was waiting there early.
As soon as Shiller and Wanda walked out of the teleportation portal, he couldn't help but wave his hand in front of his nose and said, "My God, you two are like walking cat fur tumbleweeds."
"Yeah, we just got caught in a cat fur storm," Wanda laughed and said.
Shiller pulled out Gugu and threw it at Strange; Strange hurriedly dodged, but his red cloak was still covered with a bunch of cat hair. He had to cast a cleaning spell to get the cloak clean.
Right after, Shiller, much like the scene from "The Lion King" where Simba is lifted up, raised Gugu high above his head. Gugu opened its mouth, and a mountain of construction material was spewed out, making Strange click his tongue in wonder.
"Got some good news for you," Shiller said, stroking Gugu's head. "Tony has also adopted one of these things."
Strange instantly burst into laughter, saying, "I bet the cat hair will end up inside his mecha, and he'll end up activating the cleaning mode frantically but won't get it clean. He'll eventually get so fed up that he'll dismantle the mecha."
"Don't forget, this isn't an ordinary cat. I guess they might scratch his leg armor to shreds or leave a clear tooth print on his visor. Next time we see him, we should definitely take a good look."
"If he's not wearing his mecha next time, it's definitely because the mecha got scratched by the cat. Hahahaha!"
They piled up the building materials on the clearing in front of them, and by now, the Grand Mages had started to arrive one after another. In addition to the magical building materials, they'd also brought some regular building materials. Strange pulled out the blueprints, and a group of mages began preparing to build a skyscraper out of thin air.
It wasn't possible for such a commotion not to attract the attention of the surrounding residents. Soon, people gathered around, and Shiller went over with the cat to explain.
"Yes, the mages are at work. No, no, no, it's not a church. Mages have nothing to do with religion; you can think of them as another kind of superhero. They're planning to film a movie here, related to a school, needing to set up a scene here..."
"Yes, the academic atmosphere in Massachusetts is quite strong. After all, you have so many world-renowned universities and institutes here. The new movie is related to schools, but I can't reveal the specific content. It should be quite interesting..."
"I think they're probably building a castle, right? Like those Gothic castles in Europe. I think it should be a landmark building and might even be open for tours."
"Yes, the mages are extremely efficient. If they used excavators and cranes, the noise would be intolerable..."
The local residents had a rather good attitude, with most coming to watch the fun. Some of the younger ones whipped out their phones to take pictures, but nobody really opposed it.
This could also be because it seemed quite easy for the mages to construct buildings; they neither filled the air with dust nor made much noise, and they didn't need to lay foundations, which didn't damage the ground. It looked quite eco-friendly, so the residents had no reasons to protest.
For mages, constructing buildings was more like stacking blocks. Just prepare the materials and stack them layer by layer according to the blueprints. They didn't even need to consider load-bearing, as the materials themselves were magic materials. Many materials could float on their own, needing no support, and the order of construction didn't matter; everyone could just construct their part according to the blueprints.
So it took just about half a day to almost finish one layer. At this rate, even considering subsequent renovations, the nine-layered castle would be completed in less than half a month.
Moreover, soft furnishing could begin once the first few layers were completed. The entry of soft furnishings and the construction of the upper floors didn't interfere with each other, allowing simultaneous construction and furnishing. Since there was no noise or dust, filming could proceed alongside the interior work.
Then they went to the nearby shooting base. This area was primarily used for the crew's preparations, such as changing costumes, makeup, rest, and so on. It was a compound of RVs and containers.
The producer of the crew was very experienced and used RVs and containers to enclose a circular plaza. Two RVs on the north side were for crew rest, three containers on the northeast side for makeup rooms and costume storage, two containers on the south for the production zone, and the container on the west housed props and the field affairs office. There was even a dedicated container on the southeast side for the Little Wizards to rest.
When Shiller arrived, the director was leading the crew in drone testing. The drone had just captured footage of the mages building the house, and all the staff were excitedly wanting to rush over to see. As Shiller arrived, the director was hurriedly leading the crew out.
"Ah, Doctor Shiller, did you just come from the castle site? We were just about to head over there. Feel free to look around here, just don't touch anything," Chris said as he left briskly.
The Little Wizards were still in New York, so the shooting base was quite quiet. Shiller wandered around, noticing that the procurement wasn't fully completed, with not much around to see. However, Shiller did spot a few hand-drawn sketches on the director's desk that seemed to be important storyboards for the movie.
One drawing caught his attention because it featured a dragon, a classic depiction of a Western fiery dragon. It appeared that Director Chris wanted to incorporate more Western fantasy elements.
However, as Shiller knew, there were no such fiery dragons on Earth. Their homeland should be Muspelheim among the Nine Major Kingdoms, specifically in the domain of the Flame Giant Surtur.
But the temperament of Flame Giants was as bad as that of Frost Giants, and fiery dragons were even more unreasonable. If Chris proposed bringing over a fiery dragon for filming, Strange would have quite a headache.
