Chapter 94: Chapter 94: Doomsday

In a hidden underground room somewhere in New York City, Lex Luthor stood with his hands behind his back, talking to several blue holograms gathered around a conference table.

They all watched the giant screen at the front of the underground conference room, where Superman lay at the bottom of a deep crater, breathing weakly, and excitedly whispered among themselves.

Above the crater, a massive monster wrapped entirely in black fluid with bone spurs beginning to protrude from its joints roars toward the sky.

"It actually defeated Superman. I think Mr. Luthor can completely replace Dr. William Magnus. That man wasn’t obedient enough and kept using excuses to delay our plans."

"LexCorp’s research and development capabilities are still trustworthy."

"I agree with the suggestion to replace Dr. William."

Hearing such praise from these big shots behind holograms, but each controlled forces that could influence the world, Luthor would definitely be secretly delighted.

But at this moment, his heart was filled with doubts, and his gaze was fixed tightly on the "monster" roaring outside the deep crater.

This seemingly terrifying monster is, in fact, just an unfinished genetic embryo.

Moreover, above the monster at the crater, two more Kryptonians are in the air, constantly watching it and carefully testing it.

One of them was a blonde girl wearing a uniform with the same S symbol as Superman.

The other is a mysterious figure entirely wrapped in black with a pure black helmet on their head.

This mysterious person is visibly somewhat thin.

Before Superman was severely injured, this person and the blonde girl even worked together with Superman to deal some pretty serious damage.

"When did two more Kryptonians arrive on Earth?"

This was Luthor’s first question.

The second question was that the blonde girl obviously isn’t the same person who had killed hundreds of alien lifeforms in Metropolis before.

Her combat style is too immature, and even worse than Superman’s.

Originally, Luthor did suspect the thin figure in black.

Even though this person was also inexperienced in battle, their attacks were indeed more ruthless than Superman’s.

Moreover, during intense fighting, they also didn’t seem to care much about the lives of ordinary civilians around them.

However, before releasing the embryo, Luthor had already prepared another backup plan.

Luthor could use a device buried under New York City to transfer destructive energy into the Phantom Zone stored inside the Fortress of Solitude.

But after watching this mysterious person’s combat for a while longer, Luthor removed this person from his list of suspects.

If the one who had so freely slaughtered alien lifeforms was really this person in black, Luthor would be very disappointed.

He refused to believe it.

Luthor trusted his own instincts.

That man definitely hadn’t shown up yet.

At this moment, above New York City, Kara, who hadn’t yet officially become known as Supergirl, anxiously looked at her severely injured cousin in the deep crater behind the monster.

"What do we do? He needs treatment right away!"

Flashpoint Superman, who has covered his entire body, also frowned slightly, his mind racing through thoughts.

"I’ll go hold this thing off, you take the opportunity to get Superman away!"

Kara instinctively wanted to refuse because she also knew clearly that this Flashpoint Superman beside her was at most only slightly stronger than herself.

Even through the earlier fight, Kara and Flashpoint Superman have already learned that the monster just couldn’t fly.

If it wanted to attack them, it could only jump, and it was very clumsy in the air.

But if they flew down and fought it at close range on the ground, one mistake could get them killed by the monster instantly.

Superman only rushed down to engage in ground combat with it because he couldn’t bear the monster attacking the buildings with civilians who hadn’t evacuated yet.

However, Flashpoint Superman had no intention of discussing with her.

He only gave her one final warning to hurry, then shot straight toward the monster with a loud boom.

"No! You’ll die!"

Kara reached out and shouted.

But before her voice could arrive, a huge explosion that seemed to cover the whole sky sounded first.

A "meteor" glowing with a faint red light fell from the sky, so fast that it looked like a blood-red flash of lightning that vanished in an instant.

It even surpassed the Flashpoint Superman.

It was Viktor, who had taken only three seconds to reach the sky above New York.

He saw a monster on the ground, constantly roaring, covered in black mud and bone spurs, which looked somewhat like Doomsday from the DC universe.

Viktor didn’t know why it looked like some strange mix of Clayface and Doomsday, but anything that looked even a little like Doomsday was definitely not going to be easy to deal with.

This time, the situation didn’t allow him to hold back.

He only knew that he had to use the most unexpected speed and force possible to injure this thing first.

On the other side, Luthor became excited the moment he saw the red meteor falling from the sky.

A dozen mechanical devices, as sharp claws pierced through the concrete ground around the battlefield, covering an area of more than six hundred meters.

They formed a colorless magnetic field like a giant lid, and one second before Viktor and the monster collided, both of them were trapped inside it.

An arms dealer demonstrating weapons to big shots should at least be able to produce safety measures to keep the situation under control.

But right after that, an alarm sounded in Luthor’s earpiece.

The devices he had prepared couldn’t fully redirect all the energy created by this impact.

Of course, the Phantom Zone at the Fortress of Solitude could handle it, but the devices Luthor deployed have an upper limit to their energy transfer efficiency.

It wasn’t that the man descending from the sky was much stronger than Superman.

It was that his cold and ruthless nature was far beyond Luthor’s expectations.

From the first glimpse of that monster, Viktor chose to launch an attack powerful enough to sink all of New York.

Listening to the warning in his earpiece that the transfer devices were instantly overloading, Luthor finally couldn’t contain his laughter.

"Gentlemen, look! This is the real danger of those so-called superhumans—in three seconds, the entire world will face this tragedy brought by superhumans!"

As soon as he finished speaking, more than thirty devices supporting the magnetic field exploded at the same time, and one-tenth of the destructive energy from the collision still hadn’t been redirected.

In Luthor’s estimate, at the very least, all of New York City would disappear.

The intense white light, which had been compressed to its limit by the force field, suddenly shrank.

The lives of New York City’s total of over eight million people have less than half a second remaining to live—if nothing unexpected happens.

Luthor’s smile became increasingly twisted.

Standing in the absolutely safe underground, Luthor even spread his arms, ready to welcome the moment he had been waiting for.

After this, there will be no possibility of coexistence between humans and superhumans.

"Tcapmi eht esrever!"

Zatanna, who had just arrived at the edge of the battlefield, went pale. It was as if all the magic in her body had been drained in an instant.

After shouting this backward spell, Zatanna’s eyes rolled back, and she fell onto her back.

Luckily, Rachel reached out and caught her.

The destructive energy that Luthor predicted should have destroyed all of New York, but it transformed into a beam of light, shooting straight toward the sky.

It smashed apart all the clouds above.

For a moment, the sky was completely clear and blue.
