Death… And Me-Chapter 4138: Am I?
*Bzzz...*
The little Fly approached them, and suddenly, it increased several times in size. "That scared me near to death, you know? Holy shit, that woman, especially, she’s a monster! What a powerful soul!"
Roan nodded slightly. "She is by far the strongest enemy I’ve ever fought, and she hasn’t shown her real strength yet."
Roan tried to think about it. Has there ever been a time when he had the cultivation advantage but couldn’t gain the upper hand in battle? Of course, he didn’t count Rean, as they truly had similar power. He would still come out on top if he fought Rean with everything he had, but it still didn’t compare to an entire stage of cultivation of difference.
"Beelzebub, is it okay for you to appear? Isn’t there anyone else hiding?" Kentucky asked, now back to his original form. He once again had to spend some of his bloodline power in his Celestial Transformation, and the same went for Celis.
Beelzebub shook his head in response. "If there was, I would have felt their souls. This ambush wasn’t properly planned ahead. I’m sure about that."
Roan agreed with him. "Beelzebub is right. If they knew we would come out in this place, they would have prepared many formations, personnel, and other things. Yet, they didn’t. Also, there were only five Balance Breakers, even if you include Cloe. Back when we were taken down, there were ten of them, and none of them died. Why wouldn’t you bring them all here to fight us? That doesn’t make sense."
"Simply put, this ambush was made in a hurry, or this is not the only place where this kind of ambush was prepared. If it’s the second option, it makes sense that the other Balance Breakers of the Empire are watching other places instead."
Nyxara got close to everyone. "We can continue this discussion later. Stay close, I’m bringing us away."
The power of the void gathered, and the twins’ group disappeared. She did the right thing to leave that place, as it was investigated later on by the Werdlem Empire. Of course, they couldn’t detect where Nyxara had gone.
Nyxara only stopped moving a day later, and with her power, they were truly far away from where they were ambushed. "This should be fine. Even balance breakers wouldn’t be able to keep up with me for that long."
Roan nodded. "Let’s enter the dimensional realm."
Inside, Roan asked Sister Orb. "How exactly was the Abyssal Path damaged? Was that possible?"
Sister Orb obviously heard the same message from the system. [I wish I had an answer for you. Unfortunately, the system’s ability simply allows us to use Abyssal Paths safely and detect them. It can’t prevent the paths from being damaged. As for how the Abyssal Path was damaged, I couldn’t be more surprised than you. Weren’t Abyssal Beasts the only ones supposed to be able to mess with them?]
"Oh! That reminds me!" Beelzebub suddenly spoke. "I felt the presence of another soul, one very different from the rest who ambushed you. However, he never made an appearance, and he was really, really far away from everyone else. If not for the peculiarity of that soul, I wouldn’t even have noticed it at all."
The Rean’s mind went back to when they arrived in the Starway of the Werdlem Universe. Back then, the system warned the twins’ group about the presence of Abyssal Beasts. Not Abyssal Paths, but real Abyssal Beasts. Obviously, Rean told everyone about it.
However, Roan narrowed his eyes. "If there were an Abyssal Beast present, why didn’t the system warn us about it?"
Celis had a theory. "Beelzebub said that this soul was really far away, didn’t he? Could it be that it was outside the detection range of the system? Don’t forget that the detection of Abyssal Paths only happens when we get pretty close to them. Chances are that we were quite close to the Abyssal Beasts back then, but we didn’t really waste time looking for them as we were on the run."
Roan and the others nodded. Celis’s theory made a lot of sense. "Now, the only question is whether they knew we would appear there."
"Should we refrain from using Abyssal Paths?" Kentucky asked. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
"That would be hard..." Rean didn’t like the idea. The distance between universes was absolutely enormous. You could fit another million universes between each one of them, and you would still not breach the gap.
Back when the Garisan Empire attacked the Lisan Universe, they took years to fly to Lisan, and that’s because they had spaceships made especially for that kind of Great Void travel. The twins had no such thing at the moment. In fact, they were in the middle of nowhere right at this moment, as they were moving through the Great Void when they were inside the Abyssal Path earlier.
Rean checked his Great Void Chart. "We are pretty fucking far from the nearest Universe, C187."
Roan rejected the idea before anyone spoke it. "Forget about C187. We aren’t the only ones who know it is the nearest Universe, after all. If we go there, chances are we could fall into another ambush, and this time, we might not be so lucky."
"Are you saying we should go to some faraway universe?" Nyxara asked, shaking her seal head. "Now, that is what I call a huge waste of time. Even if you have me to help with the travel, we might be talking about hundreds of years here. Sure, hundreds of years might not be much to experts at our level, but it is not like it will be over in a flash."
"For now, our best option is to return to a Universe. I guess there is no other choice..." Rean bitterly smiled. "He absolutely won’t like it."
Far away from there, near an enormous black hole at the center of a galaxy, a weird serpent could be seen hovering around it. Suddenly, the serpent’s CD received a call, and the serpent was forced to leave the black hole time and gravitational area to answer it. "What is it?"
Rean immediately spoke from the other side. -Oh! If this is not my great friend, Xyrath! How good it is to be able to talk with such a majestic and imposing Primordial Demon Beast. How have you been? Is everything good? Can I help you with something? How could I? Such an amazing Chronoblade Serpent would never need anyone’s help. He is that good!-
Xyrath’s mouth twitched. "I’m not going to like this, am I?"
