Death Mage with an SS-Rank Talent-Chapter 136
Chapter 136: Chapter 136
Aaron slept longer than usual and woke up near noon. He was tired from the training, and after that, he was electrocuted during the ritual. His body needed rest, so he didn’t wake up from bed till noon, except for a brief moment when he woke up to eat breakfast.
Though his body needed rest, an empty stomach wouldn’t help his body much. The body needs energy to help it return to the peak stage. Food may be the slowest way, but it is the best way to do so. So, he had to wake up for a brief moment before going back to sleep.
At noon, he woke you, refreshed before cooking and eating lunch. After filling up his stomach, Aaron left for the Dungeon Hall. From that day to the day he would leave for the tournament, he would be levelling up, so that he could improve his luck value.
Though he could only improve it by +1 before he had to leave for the tournament, and until after the tournament, he might not have the chance to improve at all, he was keen on improving it, as Luck is very useful in many ways.
He already stands as the strongest amongst his peers and even among Rank-2 beings. He can easily rival a Rank-3 being, but above that, he was not sure, and there is no guarantee that his enemies would be below his prowess.
Someone higher could make a move against him. When you can’t beat the enemy, the best thing to do is to run.
Running away from your enemy doesn’t ensure survival. The enemy can chase. So, survival depends a lot on luck.
It was not just survival. A lot of things depend on luck. Since his other attributes are already high enough, and also because improving luck would empty out the FSPs, which makes him happier, he can now concentrate on increasing levels faster without any worry.

Dungeon hall...
Aaron arrived at the dungeon and normally would be on his way to the dungeons to level up, but he halted as he heard students around gossiping about lightning.
He approached a group of two to hear what they were talking about.
"Did you see the huge lightning that appeared in the sky last night?" one of the two asked.
"Nah, man, I was asleep at that time and I missed it out", the other said. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
"How could you be asleep when it made such a loud noise?" the first one asked in surprise. He couldn’t figure out how his friend was able to sleep through such a thing.
"It’s called a Soundproof formation. No sounds from outside would be heard inside, nor the inside sounds would go outside", the second one said.
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Man, you missed a legendary moment. I heard that those clouds and lightning spread throughout the world, whether it was day or night in that place, the clouds made it look like a night", the first one said.
"Say what? How can that be possible?" The second one was surprised to hear that.
"I don’t know, and the academy is not giving any answers either. They might not know what that was either", the first one said.
"Really?" The second one was surprised by his friend’s statement.
The Dusk Academy is, after all, one of the top five, and that means the top officials, like the Headmaster, should have a direct line to the Human Gods themselves. How can they not know about this?
This felt ridiculous to him.
"Maybe, it was something dangerous and the academy decided to keep it secret", the second added to the conversation.
"You might be right. The lightning was weird. It looked Dark Purple in colour. So, it should be what you said", the first one agreed.

Aaron left the place after hearing a few more words. Staying near them for a long time would appear suspicious. So, left them and approached others. They were talking about the same thing too. Everyone is. There is no other topic for the day.
"Such a thing happened, but I didn’t...wait a minute, they said it was Dark Purple, and the time of the event was when I was going through the ritual", Aaron gasped in surprise and shock.
Aaron had a feeling that he was the reason for the incident in the skies, but he kept his mouth shut and went to the dungeons to level up.
He is not interested in offering himself up.
If everyone who is powerful than him, or at least the ones who sit at the top, are good people, he wouldn’t have minded revealing the details about it to reduce the panic that it brought, but he is not going to.
He knew that there were many out there who wished him dead and or envious enough to cause trouble for him. If this piece of information gets out there, then there will be a lot of trouble that will follow him.
So, he decided to ignore that.
Even though he didn’t want to tell anyone that he might be the reason, he wanted to know why that happened.
"I did everything according to what was described in the book. This was not something that I picked up in the wild. This should be known to the staff of the academy, at least to the higher-ups of the academy".
"There was no mention of anything like this happening in that book. What was the cause of this deviation?" Aaron muttered to himself as he entered the dungeon.
"Did the ritual fail? All that electrocution was for nothing? I should first check it before drawing any conclusions", he thought as he summoned his undead.
Once he summoned all his undead, "Go and kill every monster that you encounter", he ordered them, which they obliged and started to hunt down the monsters in the dungeon.
Aaron observed his undead fight, and only that. He didn’t do anything else, like join the fight.
At first, he didn’t see the results he wanted to see, which made him frown, thinking that the ritual had failed, but soon some of the skeletons started using Lightning Dash, a skill that improves the speed of the user.
"Ah, it worked. There are too many undead, and the enemies are probably not worthy of them to show all their skills. I got worried unnecessarily", he muttered.
Though not all skeletons showed their lightning power, when he saw that a few had used them, it meant that the ritual worked. They didn’t show from the beginning because they didn’t feel any danger from the monsters.
They only showed what they needed to get rid of the monsters, nothing more, nothing less.
"About that incident that terrified everyone last night, it’s best to forget about that. I did exactly what was described in the book. I am not at fault at all, and if they come to me, I would point to the book that I read. So, no need to worry about that anymore".
"For now, I should worry more about levelling faster, so that I can improve my luck value", Aaron muttered and then joined his undead army in clearing out the monsters in the dungeon.
